Clan Wars

Looks interesting, although the limit to 2 battles per member really decreases the amount of activity it will bring to members willing to fight for their clan and remain engaged for clan wars. A max of 2 battles every two days isn't a huge addition of things to do, but on the other hand it does seem more fair that way, since it means it will be a test of the whole clan rather than just a few big hitters. I think clans like mine will benefit from this rule, but clans with lots of inactive (or even just less active) players are going to really hurt.

I personally really like the sneak peek week. I wish they hadn't hyped it so much in the past few weeks, but once peeks start then I don't mind the hype, just wish it was limited to one week... :)

Curious what the goblin attacking the barb means, will they do extra damage on defense? Attack cc troops instead of loot until they are all dead? I'm sure I have no clue, just very curious... :confused:

Have to say it looks like SC is finally putting out an update that matches the hype, can't wait!

You think it's not fair, to require players to choose between clan wars, or staying low and picking on noobs?

This sounds very similar to the gree game modern war. There were many ways in that game to exploit the matchmaking in your favor.....mostly by adding low level players to your team. You still got some tough matchups, but the chances were much smaller by adding extras or players fledgling second accounts.

but when is it actually out? Today is the 2nd of April and it ain't in my update list

What about new players who join your clan after war has been declared, will they be able to battle? A weak clan could declare war and then have a bunch of strong players join. The flip side is that if I join after a war has started I would have to wait for the next one.

From what I gathered, there is a cooldown for players who were previously in a clan war, and anything else is fair game. That leads on to another scenario similar to what you suggested. A clan war battle starts between clan Apple and clan Bear; Apple is situated in Australia, Bear is located mainly around the western hemisphere, west coast in California to be extreme. As the previous poster just asked, can (co) leaders reject? If not, Apple manages to pull off most attacks against the other clan, then proceeds to boot all of their members. Bear can now potentially get up to 60 stars, whereas Apple already had 75.

I am sure counter measures have been brought into place to prevent these scenarios, but nothing has really been explained yet. I just want to gather all of the information before the update, because I am the only one in my clan who visits the forums.

The videos said after a set period of time bases were fixed for the entire battle. Possibly at the start of the two days. It is very doubtful new members will be able to compete if they enter in the middle of a clan war.

Getting back to the the op, do any of the moderators with direct knowledge have any input on how matchmaking will work? Is the matchmaking based on an avg, total score of some kind, or more consistent with how cups are calculated with the top players making up a greater portion of the matchmaking process? Thanks

We don't know for sure what the crystal reference means yet do we? I haven't seen verification on a crystal requirement for clan wars, has anyone else?

IF it means that, my thought is that it would keeps players from dropping down in trophies to "game" the clan wars and get weak opponents. I assume trophies isn't the only way it matches clans, but it might be one way. And it also would limit the number of clans doing wars, which wouldn't strain SC system with tons of wars between low level clans.

Being able to farm in Crystal I wouldn't mind this at all, but I can understand how lower level players would hate the crystal requirement if it is true. But having fought my way to TH10 and suffered poor loot the past few months, I'm not going to cry too much for lower level players. Getting to crystal isn't that hard and certainly doesn't require gems to get there. And once many lower player fight up there for clan wars, they can then be farming each other... (and get farmed by me...:cool:)

Probably some time around next Wednesday, Marika said that was a good guesstimate, although no one knows for sure.
