Gem prices just had a huge increase! For example, 2500 gems up from 20.99 to 24.99 in the Australian App Store. 14000 gems up from 109.99 to a whopping $129.99.
meanwhile we still waiting for an update - which it appears upgrades are going to cost 20% more for now.
why have Gem prices skyrocketed?

It has nothing to do with Supercell.
Gem prices didnt change, the exchange rate did, which SC doesn't have control over.

The exchange rate hasn't moved 20%... And frankly i dont recollect a big fall in gem prices when the currency rose!

All games prices increased in Australia not just supercell and I'm pretty sure apple sets the prices for im game purchases I could be wrong
i doubt apple chooses peices. some games are WAY too much of different value (EA, Candy Crush)

:( Aussie here who has not been afraid to buy 2500 gems from time to time. I find it totally suspect that right before an update comes out boom! Gem prices increase. I dont believe its all on apple either. Plenty of games do gem sales now and then, and ive never seen that once in coc. Yes reduced gem boost costs occasionally, but never an actual sale on gems....update coming out, prices go up... I dont believe thats a coincidence for 1 second:confused:

That's Apple's fault, not SC's.
Apple adapted its currency change stuff so some countries are more expensive now. Don't blame SC for that.

Everything has always costed more online for us Australians. From steam games to clothing. It's the economy and I guess Supercell can't control the economy so now they have to ♥♥♥♥ up the prices.

How is it not fair? The AUD depreciates so the money isn't worth as much therefore you gotta pay more. Just think about other country's, I'm in NZ I have to pay 24.99$ for example for 2500 gems which is $20 in USD

Not to happy with supercell, I'm a casual gem buyer to boost spells ect. Even though the raise is not much i find it pathetic that you need to charge more for gems! Not all people have a lot of money and want to boost stuff, deffences spells ect... As if supercell does not make enough money already, Between hayday and clash big $$$ involved..
