I think I need the matching system explained to me a little better

Seems OK to me (pairing system) but that is a decent gap in trophy count with your defense against the higher lvl attacker. I have noticed pairings up to 2 leagues above and below when searching for raids but don't recall seeing three. So your example is probably more on the extreme side, not the norm.

I see your point, and to be honest, in going back and reading the posts here, including my own comments, I guess I do the same thing. The people I attack are sometimes up to a couple hundred trophies under me, and looking at my village from their point of view, they probably wouldn't attack me, either, if my village came up in their matching.

Well, again, he only had a little over 1400 trophies when he attacked me, and was probably only Gold III. He apparently did a lot more attacking or something in that time and progressed to where he is at the time I grabbed that screenshot.

I do see what you are saying, and it is a frustrating answer that this is just how the game is. The redeeming part is that any 1 attack or 1 defense doesn't win or lose you much of anything. So the occasional bigger/better/stronger player crushing you really doesn't matter. I'm a TH9 and it still happens to me. Its just the nature of the game.

While I don't have a real issue with the matching system, what I would do to improve the game is that if you lose a battle you wouldn't be able to attack again for X hours. This might prevent high townhall players being in the lower leagues. The number of hours would be dependent on how much of the village you were able to destroy. This wouldn't prevent you from being attacked during that time.

Matching system and the actual attack are 2 separate things.

Matching system gives trophy range by which you get league bonus and chance of other player to attack/ be attacked by you (give or take 300 points) from your current trophy.

On the other hand, the actual attack is more closely tied to the loot penalty (for farmers) or trophy gain (for pusher) and your current available loot. The higher difference between you town hall level with your match, the less likely you'll attack each other. The less you have loot available, your chance of being attacked by someone of higher town hall level than you also reduces.

The southeast compartment, with the giant ball of elixir, you could bust into that one fairly easy with some giants and a couple wallbreakers. With a little bit more dedication you could reach the core.

I agree. Take my newly acquired lv9 base for example, I tend to farm around the gold 3 trophy range where I often come across town hall 7 people to attack, but because of the loot penalties it's only really worth it for me if there's a lot of loot in the mines/collectors. So remember to collect from them often to avoid being such a tempting target.

If the matching system were changed to make it harder to wipe people out, that would just change the dynamic of the game completely. The consequence of which would be that you yourself would start getting less stars in your own attacks.

Getting beaten and raided by higher levels is just a part of the game you have to accept, and you are never totally exposed all of the time thanks to the shields. Just remember to enjoy that feeling when you get to demolish someone else's base yourself.
