Both have merits.

TH10 has a superior defence, so much so you don't need hog gimmick designs, also an extra drill [+ mine/collector]

While you will almost never see loot from TH8 anymore, and a slight drop from TH9 - while you will have a better/bigger army to crack a fellow TH10.

But since the update is really close, I would wait and see what is in this update; and then decide.

I am in a similar boat with maxed defences, mostly lv 9 walls and heroes 15+. Just holding off to see what the update has.

I'm going to continue to view your posts regarding farming with a HUGE grain of salt, (as is my prerogative) but somewhat less so than when I thought you'd only been playing since October.

Apology accepted bro. I love how you are always able to put some sort of snide remark about my character at the end of one of your posts. I've been playing since the game came out. I remember the waterfall:cool: I thought you were ignoring me yet you read all my posts? Interesting........... Anyways, I have never gemmed DE except for one occasion where I accidentally upgraded the AQ right after the BK. Basically I just dropped a BK upgrade and accidentally gemmed the res for the AQ upgrade which sucked:( That could be the difference but I don't think it makes up for all those numbers you were throwing at me. Honestly, I'm not the best with math and this game has tons of glitches. Cheers:cool:

I really want that drill though. From reading loads of TH10 loot complaint threads and the responses I have understood that the Gold profits dip while the DE profit increase. I don't really hit TH8s anymore because they never have anything to offer me anyways:rolleyes: All the TH8s I find are dumping all their gold into walls or something because they are always broke:( I farm TH9s and 10s (obviously better at doing the 9s). The thing is TH10 gets no boost for a farming army besides the Level 6 Minions as I use BAM when in gold leagues and Balloonion when in Master. I don't know why to hold off. The update will probably only have things for TH10 so staying at TH9 to check it out will be useless IMO. I'm ready to see you in my TH10 boat too:o:cool: Good luck to you!

I do have really dumb ideas. Like I skipped TH8 just because having three of everything in a square game was making me so mad. I also am not going to TH10 at all even when (or if) I'm maxxed, unless there's a TH11. Only because I like TH9 for some reason.

I am exactly like you I have planned to not go to th 10 until there is th 11 so I'm going to completely max everything.

Regardless of what others say, I am gonna type a wall of text. Brace yourself.

Let me start with heroes. Th 10 is THE BEST townhall for DE farming ( heroes :P )
It's the resource you don't worry with loot penalty. TH 9 with 10 % lower loot is negligible. Th 8 are mostly broke and nvm TH 7 XD plus if you are DE farming, you will be in Crystal league or masters. you won't find Th 8 anyways.
Infernos will help you greatly with DE protection(scare factor) minus the zaps LOL

I am myself not focusing on DE farming as TH 9. my only goal is to farm lavas while spending every single drop of DE on heroes ( so that i can overcome those long timed and lower cost hero upgrades and when the time is still 7 days per level but costs damn high, that's when i will actually farm DE and thats when it will pay off )

The reason i will farm DE at Th 10 is because unlike gold, you can't dump DE and keep storage empty. The losses will be too huge until and unless i have Infernos to help me out.

Now let's talk about gold.
It's one resource Th 10 cry for. Unlike DE, it's harm to come by.
Th 9 is a sweet spot to farm because you can farm two sets of walls while picking off TH 8 XD ( i do that all the time LOL )
Unlike you, i will be in a complete opposite situation. I am gonna end up with level 10 walls and with ♥♥♥♥ty defenses. but i am still gonna upgrade to TH 10 for DE farming ( i hate zaps )

But about the gold, here's my thinking. unlike DE , it's a resource you don't really need to prioritize. why? because even though walls are important, We know Attack is the way to go and Maxing heroes is much more important than walls. i know it's a weird opinion coming from a guy maxing walls lol. but read below and you will know why.
So i won't actually tell you to stick to TH 9 and max walls until you REALLY wanna stick to this game for long time (i will because i always play 1 game at a time with complete focus on it. i feel it's better to stick and be good at it rather than to suck at all :P )

Now it's upto you to decide how long you wanna stick to this game. Make decision accordingly.

Glad I could inspire you. But I have to say, farming at masters is not for everyone. With loons, you really need to master a specific type of attacking will you be able to farm at masters without spells(gems). But once you master it, the rewards can be great.

With this composition, I can attack twice an hour. The M2 win bonus adds 90k gold too. (don't mind the time between the first two raids. Been raiding while watching tv. Slows things down and took about 20 mins for that attack, but the next one came within 10 skips =_= )

Now, the offensive strength of a TH9 is not far behind and a TH9 can very well farm at this range and achieve similar results. However, a TH9 cannot lazy farm like a TH10 can. Once the TH9 logs off, it will often get attacked and get a huge chunk of its loot taken. A TH10 on the other hand, get less attacked. So it can just log off to continue with real life. Even when it does get attacked, a strong base with maxed infernos helps to keep the loot safe.
