Clan problems with requesting and donating.

Our clan does this. People can ask for anything, but after 5 minutes, lv3+ archers are the default. If someone wants something else as the backup, they can specifically ask for barbs, gobs, or giants as the backup. In general when someone really wants specific troops, we tell them to ask ahead of time so that someone has time to cook some up.

This works really well to keep requests cleared off the chat log, and helps keep the clan active.

I'm also the leader of my clan and we have this problem from time to time. I always tell people to ask for what they can make. After they are around for awhile they will know that from time to time I donate level 3 drags all weekend. If I see a "wizards only" request I will ask if archers are okay before I donate them. Most people in my clan follow that as well.

I have this same problem. I made a rule that everyone should add archers and minions to their requests, and we also have another rule(not really related to your problem though) That you have to donate to every request before you request. "Dragon only" and stuff like that really ♥♥♥♥ me off too. I'm fine with donating dark troops, but when people say "Dark only" that's just dumb.

We're a farming clan with a lot of low level players (I'm level 90 and have the highest level in the clan currently, so go figure) and if people seriously want a witch in their castle and nothing else, they will just never get one and change their request behaviour or leave.
And if a low level TH player asks for dark troops for example, we tell him to only ask for troops he can donate himself to others.

When pushing, this is of course different, as you need your clancastle troops for offense.

Yeah That's what I do, I just ask for anything except barbs, WBs and Giants and use them for defense. I'm thinking about rushing to TH8 on my mini account to use it as a wiz, drag, archer, minion, and yes, valk donater. Haha I did this before and just called it the troop factory.




Wow this is the one thread where i agree with every single post.
To the person before acealive that I didn't quote, I know what it feels like. I've actually seen requests with saying "Troops Tim". That's a problem.

i use cc in every raid, maybe u dont need them when sniping mines but good luck with the bigger guys ;)

How to solve the problem? Don't allow specific requests.

We do it and it works great. We have banned the troops that are not versatile and anything else is fair game. All requests are filled within seconds from what people already have rather than special builds.

I have been away for the day so haven't check the responses for a while but thank you all so much for your input on the thread.
My plan is to first implement that you can only write a preference in the requests and if someone wants a specific troop for say defence they have to get in touch with someone so the troop type has been cooked and is available before the request even goes up.
I think it is a great idea too, about having a standard troop that can be donated if a request has been dormant for 10 or 15 mins so I think I'll implement that too.
I'm aware though that it is not so easy to spread the word about the rules through a clan because of the limited text in clan messages, so I plan to keep fewer rules but be very strict with them.

If anyone else has any other thoughts please post away! :-)

I've had this problem too. I usually ask them to only request what they have if they're a TH7 asking for Witches and stuff or high level troops. I also let everyone know archers are default and always accepted. If they can make an agreement with another player prior to requesting for a dragon or something, then they can put "dragon only" or something, but archers are always default in my clan. I also make sure my co-leaders know too so I'm not the only one enforcing.

My clan has even simpler rule: you can not ask for specific troops, but you can tell what you don't want in your castle. That way everyone has fair chance to donate and gain xp.

I agree with this poster.

People should DEFINITELY use CC troops on offense IMO! It is like passing up on more army camp space if you never use CC troops on offense. I love clans that donate and use troops a lot. It helps everyone in the clan to be active using and donating.

How many co-leaders do you have? In my clan I coordinated with my 2 co-leaders so that we could post the entire rule change over three messages posted back to back to back. I used an online text character counter to compose the message over the three messages. You have 128 chars to play with per message. It worked and got the word out to everyone quickly.

Also, you might want to look into an offline way to communicate with your clan. app.glassboard.com is an option, as are the community forums here at supercell or setting up your own forum at something like freeforums.org. I've found it much better to use an offline option for general clan communication and discussing clan admin stuff with elders.
