Hello,
First, I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong place, as I am relatively new to these forums.
I was wondering if the community could offer some suggestions as to the best way to farm Dark Elixir at Town Hall 7. I currently have 175 army camp spaces as well as a Level 1 Barbarian King (for which I spent gems). Are there any strategies/army compositions that anyone has to offer to help me farm Dark Elixir?

There's a few things you can do, so I'll explain what I know. By the way, you should really focus on maxing your army camps to 200, makes a huge difference.
Firstly, your league should be in Gold 3 or higher. Typically, the higher you go the more Dark Elixir you will see. People swear by BAM (Barbarian, Archer, Minions), but it's not good for Dark Elixir farming as you want to SAVE your dark elixir. I'm a fan of BAG for all types of farming, including Dark Elixir (x67 Barbarians/Archers, x66 Goblins for me - adjust to your liking). Bring along at least 1 rage spell, 2 would be optimal as well as your Barbarian King. Also, a lightning never hurts to zap a well protected DE storage with tons in it, though look forward to a 3 star revenge for doing that.
Finding bases that have relatively quick access to the dark elixir storage and/or full drills is key in picking your base to raid, usually you'll want to have to go through no more than 2 layers. Pick one side of the base that will give you the quickest route into the storage, and clear any buildings on that side that would distract your troops. Try to save goblins, but you can use a few for clearing collectors. Once the buildings are clear, send in your barbarians and archers to break into the walls and clear a way for your goblins. This is where your Barbarian KING and rage spells are handy, use both to make it happen, once a path is clear, send in your goblins in medium sized waves to get all the DE (and other storages if possible). With practice, you should be able to take a healthy amount of Dark Elixir and still get at least 50% and keep your trophies, but a loss here and there shouldn't be a big deal.

You need to go above 1500 trophies. Standard barch, bag, giant & healer all work. Bring wall breakers and 3 lightning spells. But realize th8 will yield better th7. Just get enough to build the king and move on. If you really want to stay at th7 then farm him up to lvl 5.
