Im new and would like to know what BAM and BARCH means? Thanks
I'm no expert, but I'll attempt to answer your questions.
Why is it better than barch? If you use BAM correctly, you can get into some storage bases and not just collector bases.
Does it consume a lot of DE? Not really. How much DE you use depends on how many minions you want.
Army comp with 200? I'd say somewhere around 65 archers 65 barbs, and anywhere between 30-35 minions. You can lower the amount of minions. If I were you...I'd stay somewhere between 25-30 (what level minions do you have?).
Hi,
Welcome to the forums..
BAM and BARCH are short terms used to describe a particular set of troops used. For example, BAM is Barbarian, Archer and Minions.. and BARCH is Barbarians and Archer..
You'll come across a whole lot of these terms across the forums like Baloonian, GoWiWi, etc..
Guys,
I've used BAM (Barbs, arch, minions) ever since going to TH8 bout 6 weeks ago, the main advantage over BARCH (Barbs, archers) I would say is minions can fly quickly over walls to delivery the knockout blow to a difficult mine, collector or drill behind the first wall.
Use minions sparingly and after barbs and archers.
Checkout the various vids on Youtube for help.

Small tip also for deploying minions, don't put them all in one go. A single air bomb can easily take out all of them if you're not careful.
I just happened to watch this video 10 mins back..

Its a BAM Tutorial by Daddy of the Golden Sky clan. (He's also a Mod here on the forums)
The benefit is the use of the extra two barracks. It's all about time. I wouldn't bother with bam at th7. At th8 you get 2 minion upgrades (to 4) as well as a free ~1kde per day from the drill. At th9 you get lvl 5 minions and 4800 per day from drills, which helps a lot.
Main purpose of BAM:
Archers: Pick off exposed buildings / shoot over walls.
Barbs: Act as tanks for archers / extra damage.
Minions: Reach deeper / more awkward storages / take down buildings behind walls / dealing that knockout blow. ;)
Keep all 6 rax going. I prefer 1 rax barb / 3 rax arch / 2 rax min.
BAM is more versatile than barch since the addition of minions enables you better access to deeper collectors & storages. BAM is ideal for both collectors & storage raids. Collector raids should be self-explanatory, with the aim being to use as few troops as possible. BAM can take down storages too, & is strengthened through the use of cc / spells / hero's. Key is to get the deployment right.
Deployment is all about practice & skill. If you're able to multi-touch deploy (using several fingers at once) then great. Doing so enables you to overwhelm defences / walls quicker. Deployment differs depending on location of storages, but the general consensus remains the same. Generally if storages are more spread out, don't focus your army on 1 spot. Spread them out. If you're attempting to core a base (reach the centre), then you wanna focus / pin-point your troops on a more centralized spot. Make good use of the target aim circle - the red circle that dictates what your troops priority target is when deployed. When you've found the desired spot / area, release the majority of your army.
Assuming you have level 5 minions (10 DE each):
- Keeping both rax cooking minions non-stop would cost you 1600 DE an hour.
From experience 1500+ cups provides enough DE to keep both rax going constantly without having to search specifically for DE in the queue. Any lower & it's not rare to find yourself with 0 DE. When loot is good you can often profit dark elix, just be sure not to miss any easy DE drills when you find a desired base to attack.
I like to pack heal / rage, usually 3 heal 1 rage. For optimal profits, don't wait til your camps are full. My preference is to take 150 'cos that's what suits me best.
I've probably missed a bunch of stuff out that others will bring to light. This is what works for me so of course you'll get different opinions sloshing around, but these are the core basics IMO. Experiment & see what works best for you.
NB: You can throw in WB if you like. I stopped taking 'em recently because they were impacting too heavily on raiding frequency. The more you practice the better you'll get.
