I'm new to the game and don't have an interest in building the castle and being in a clan. So I've just left it alone outside of my base. Is there any other reason to build it other than clans? Does it give you any items or something? Thanks

IMO.. Best defense in game
The clan castle is one of the best defenses later in the game, when placed in the middle of a base (where troops cannot be lured and dispatched easily). It can be the difference between winning and losing an defense. Still somehow underrated it my opinion
yeah. it gives you reinforcements on attack and is the best deffensive structure.
Why not be in a clan? alot of them dont require anything. just get troops for the cc and make sure you donate troops also. Alot of random clans to just join for that reason.
I just have been building my base mostly. I raided a few of the goblin missions and attacked another player only once. My defense wins most of the time. Thanks for the info on the castle, Not so sure I will build it though.
I see. yeah gob missions are good at first then they get to a point where they are difficult. at that point you want to switch to farming other players
So the castle will deploy troops if I get attacked by someone?
Yes. if they get within a certain range of it the troops run out and fight. These troops are donated by other people.
So I can't just build the castle I also have to join a clan?
Correct. Just curious, why don't you want to join one? it requires nothing.
I don't know just wanted to play without being in a club. Perhaps I don't understand how it works, That's very possible lol
Joining a clan can sometimes reward you with extremely helpful troops, and besides you could chat with other people and make new friends all the while your troops are being trained.!
If the repairing cost of the clan castle is a problem then you might wanna hold on a little while longer cause 40000 gold would not be much later on.

The most underestimated defense in the game. For a very short period of time, I did this too. But don't do it. Always the first to upgrade defense wise.
to be honest going solo in the game is hard if you just started clans help u out donate troops to you and give you some great advice that you cloud never find a lot of clans nowadays even give gems( itunes and/or google play gift cards) so its totally worht it and with a clan castle you could hold hogs in there for raiding or protecting or a witch or a dragon( i use those a lot) so it really makes all the diffrence and surprisingly it is the most under rated thing in the game when it is both an attack and defense building it really is sad
Well I dont have enough room for it yet with the amount of wall pieces I have and I have a pretty good setup right now. When I fell like it's time to upgrade my TH to level 7 I'll get more walls and I can look into it. I appreciate all the info, Thanks.
I don't want to beat a dead horse but i do want to make sure a relatively "new" clasher understands a point. We have said that it is the best defense in the game, and that you can make new friends and such, but i don't think we have shown you what the clan castle can actually do.
You said you are a late town hall 6? That is, in my humble opinion, the start of higher level gameplay. At the beginning, base design and upgrades don't really outweigh the offensive capabilities (when i was that low at least…) but at your level, base design and upgrades are EVERYTHING. If you have good defenses and a good base, most people your level will not have time to figure out how to beat your base. You want to have every possible advantage on your side right? So why not get the clan castle and join a clan? You don't have to talk to the members, you just need to donate and request for troops. Those troops can help you defensively and offensively. As previously stated, that is the BIGGEST… i repeat for emphasis, BIGGEST advantage you can possibly have over an attacker. Lets say that i am wrong, and that the clan castle is overrated and praised by the community for some reason. It still can help, right? 10 archers will distract the troops and deal a little bit of damage, right? Now lets say we are right, and that at my level, i can have 25 troops at a time in the clan castle. If it is filled with 5 level 5 wizards from a very generous clan member plus an extra 5 level 5 archers, that totals up to a WHOPPING 950 damage per second. Now THAT is what i call defense. Troops in a clan castle can take out giants in seconds! At higher level raiding, that can completely destroy an attack and win you the defense. What if your clan members are pretty low leveled and you can only have 10 troops? 10 level 3 archers still do 120 damage per second, that is higher than any of your buildings (or mine for that matter).
So as you can see from my rant up there. The clan castle is not overrated and is a very worthy investment that should not be overlooked if you want to win more defenses.
TL;DR: Clan castle filled with wizards do 950 damage per second, don't overlook the clan castle.
I saw a persons map where the broken castle was moved over by the edge of the map. How did they do this mine is in the way of my layout.

a clan castle, when filled with troops from a clan DEFENDS your base. And the area it covers is massive. So if you build your castle, join a clan... you have a castle filled with troops who jump out and attacvk the bad guys raiding you.
If you do not want to be tied to a clan, still build and upgrade your castle. If nothing else it will be another target for the raiders, and buy your cannons/towers/mortars more time to hit them.
I do not really like clan hoppers, but you could also do that... visit clans and ask for troops. donate some troops thank them for their time and leave. **note that I suggest you donate before leaving? Yeah, i wish more hoppers would do that. I wouldnt care about hoppers at all if they donated a bit.**

The farther you go in the game you will need your clan castle to win some defenses. With level 5 wizards in it it has 1,020 dps!!!!Quote:
