Dragons: Too expensive to use?
So I recently decided to level up the barracks to get some dragons going and I like their uses as it adds a nice/new element to what has become a fairly boring way of farming for resources.
Despite loving the element they add to raiding, the problem is they're often too expensive to use. I'm only using 2 per raid right now to test them and I don't even mind the 30 min wait time, but 25k per (just using lvl 1's) is kind of prohibitive when added to my already expensive raid which normally includes at least a healing spell and a rage spell.
But just looking at 2 dragons and 2 spells, that's 100k elixir for just 2 dragons and 2 spells all before the rest of my raid composition.
Now of course I don't "have" to use them, but I feel like why even have them if they're so expensive that you're almost always losing elixir during raids?
It makes "nexting" even worse because you're thinking, "well my army costs me 180k+, so I need at least 360k elixir for it to be worth it." That's a bad thing to have to think about when you're seeing a nice 250k elixir/gold base to attack.
For trophy hunting I can understand, but since trophies are somewhat pointless right now, I feel like the cost is very prohibitive.
I'm sure it's been talked about a lot here, so forgive me, but I'm curious if people think dragons should be reduced in price so that there would be more variations in raiding composition.
Pekkas are a whole 'nother beast, which I think are a bit too powerful to be reduced in price but I think it's the same problem which causes army compositions to become so standard and end up feeling quite stale after a while for a game which requires constant play over long periods of time.
It'd be nice to see more varying compositions. I've been trying to switch things up with dark elixir troops, but that also runs into a similar problem as well. Although, I find that I'm able to recoup my dark elixir more times than not.
