Wondering about looted collectors

Ok, here is my question, when you steal loot from a collector, will there be less to collect from that one collector, or will it go off your total?

if it is the second one, wouldn't this be very unfair since loot gets stolen from you that you officially don't even have?

There is an internal gold/elixir storage inside of each collector, of which the attacker can steal up to 50% of what's inside (75% for drills). So yes, there will indeed be less to collect from looted collectors.
