My "reward" for being an active player

Last night I decided to try something different and put my th inside just for fun and I was "rewarded" with 7 attacks against me. The last 6 came in a span of 40 minutes. Can someone from SuperCell please explain the logic behind putting active players who play a ton and spend money on gems right to the front of the MM system but push back the ppl who don't play and don't pay? 6 attacks in 30 minutes......are you kidding me?

And the only reason I lost the last attack was because my xbows ran out of elixir. So in a span of less than 30 minutes my fully loaded xbows were depleted. Come on....that's ridiculous.

The good news is that I made a whopping 118 trophys. Woah! I won trophys! I'm just jumping for joy at that reward!

I guess you wanted to earn trophies since you moved your TH in. Why are you not happy about your trophy gain then?

Being active doesn't matter, your base design does. You've chosen a base style that's not suited for resource protection. I'd be rubbing my hands and smiling with glee if I saw that base when raiding

Lol, that's funny. Every attack until the last one where my xbows were down got less than 100k gold. Unless you bring a GoWi or dragon army or a minimum of 4 spells this base will eat you up. I lost 700k gold in 5 attacks. Tell me how that's not a good resource protection design.

This base almost never, ever loses more than 2 gold storages.

Trust, that base is easy to farm, no need for GoWi, 2 heros, a choice of meat shield, some wall breakers and some goblins would do the trick

Yummy, as a th10 i like these bases. Th9 with lots of loot.

First off, your attack log is full of low level players. Single digit heros or no heros. Gowiwi would be just overkill. Have you ever faced a gowiwi army with lvl 20+ heros? That army is made for cracking th10, not a th9.

you have been farming with your th outside. That gives you a false sense of defensive strength. Here is the challenge, go sit in just mid crystal3 for a week with max stores and post the results. You will quickly learn you are not nearly as strong as you think.

Your base is is very vulnerable to a giant, barb archer army. Splash all sitting outside the walls. Never mind a giant wiz army.

I dont have to tell you, you told yourself. I lost 700k gold. So obviously not a good resource protection design. And just because you have xbows doesnt mean you win.

I agree with what you are saying about being punished for protecting a TH mate, really. That is my main complaint in the whole game right now is that TH protection and trophies mean nothing. There are no benefits for good defense in this game and it is just ridiculous.

That being said. I agree with the other posters who share that your base is not as strong as you think it is and you are losing much more than you think you should. As a defensively maxed TH9 myself I've been playing around in the 2500-2800 range the last week and no matter how strong your TH9 base is, it's going to get demolished! Right now your base is so easy to farm as a high level player so no wonder you kept getting attacked as much as you did. I'd not be proud of "only" losing 700k in that time period as it just shows you your resource protection is not near as good as you think it is.

Well, I'm not under any delusions of granduer. And my base wasn't even the point of this thread. The point was that it's crazy that i got attacked enough in a 30 minute window to drain my full xbows. I didn't even design it for myself. It was a Pingfao knock off.

I know any th10 with lvl 20+heroes is going to roll me (as they would any th9). But my defense log is full of people who thought the same as these guys but failed miserably. It's a better resource protection than you think. Any th9 that can withstand lvl 6 giants and only losing 2 storages is a good design. I've tried 20 different designs and by far this one works the best. It has performed much better than Ringus for protecting my resources.

And beancounter....a th10 with lvl 20+ heroes bragging about beating a th9 is about the same as a grown man beating up a 10 year old boy. Are you guys proud that as th10s you can roll th9s? Because honestly, its not very impressive.

A good base design is one where if they are strong enough to get a significant amount of loot then they will at least get enough of the base to give you a shield. In your case, the attackers took pretty big loot by only getting around 35%. Thus you have a design flaw if resource protection was your goal.

On the other hand it did great for trophies, so at least you have that to fall back on.

At least you have something to watch when your boreed

Since when is under 100k gold good loot? Man, the standards of farmers nowadays are WEAK. I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off if I dont get 250k per raid.

Try to do the same at masters1 or champions, as far as you get, you might notice that your defense is not that good...

I have a good layout, you will not be able to resist... when people start attacking you with 5 spell and heroes lvl 40 you will be able to really understand....


Most people farm still about master II, above that is a whole new game...

What needs explaining ? Everyone knows as soon as you log off, your village is free for all.

That you got attacked so often means your design is flawed in resource- protection department.

That you keep winning defenses means you played way lower in the league than you should have.

It's a matter of your own gameplay. You want easy pickings TH 8 or premmie 9 but no real attack from TH 9/10. That's the price you should pay. Everyone kicked you in the nut. If you stay around where other TH 9/10 hang around, you'll get shielded within minutes you log off, x-bows or no x-bows.

This thread is rather amusing, its a bit of a gloat, look at how my deffense holds up, hidden behind a complaint about no rewards.

Then it ends up being a dig at players that attack weaker players, and go for cups.
Your in a trophy range full if Th7's Th8's & low level Th9/10's, which I presume you pick on all the time, so who is the adult picking on a 10 year old now?..

You spend all you time farming, being hit by low levels, who take out your TH, makes you feel intimidating, and indestructible, I know the feeling, thought I would beat the top players, went up in trophies, struggled to hit masters, as your actually very easy pickings above 2,400, log off and attacked in secounds, 2 star, 3 star all the time, Gowiwi, hogs, or even just a giant healer combo, your easy!

Im currently around 3100, and yes, a succesful deffence for + any amount of cups is deffo a reward, players play the game differently, your under the common illusion you need to max everything and stay at a low trophy level, to be the best, when really your far behind, and not being in a suitable trophy league means you don't realise, so threads like this are silly as your way of playing wouldn't reap any reward for a great deffence, so it seems useless to you, where as protecting resources as a priority would be silly to other players, before you say anything about that, loot is great at higher levels so one raid for minus 200k isn't a loss.

No, the OP stated his base could defend against any army except gowiwi, mass drag or someone using 4 spells. I certainly do not bother cooking gowiwi to drop on a th9! I just find that comment silly. Please read the full quote....

Smalls, I am not trying to pick on you. You have made good progress so far. A solid th9.

but surviving multiple attacks is just part of the game - if you push cups. Farming with TH outside means at worst you face ONE full on attack. At best some th7-8 snipes your TH. With th inside it means you can expect multiple hits on your base. And yes, it sucks to be hogged 2-4 times in a row until someone finally gives you a shield. Think of the greater strat. On my first push as a th10 I would routinely loss 200-400k gold to mass hogs. Yep i "won" defense. Keep your th inside when you are active and toss it out at the end of the night.

During my last push I left base weak to barch. Lots of buildings outside, splash in the core. So I would get barched. Being barched is just about the best way to loose!

I would really really recommed trying to push up in cups for a week. It has nothing to do with the match making. But people see those tombstones all over your base and think fresh meat! Especially if your xbows are empty.

hehe, higher up lots of people try to bait attacks by leaving tombstones. But the base is at full strength.

edit: why I have always said the BEST defense in this game is leaving your th exposed! Forget infernos or xbows. Nothing beats 100% protection from having your th sniped.

The frequency of those attacks kills me.

Wow, so many of you just don't get my point. I know I'm in a farming range. That's because I'm farming. I just wanted to see what would happen if I threw my th inside. And the frequency of attacks on me was crazy. I won 6 defenses on a row and what did I get? Nothing. While an inactive player never gets attacked. Its a brutal flaw in the game.

But f course half of you can't read and start to go off on the effectiveness of my base.

One of you even said I was gloating. Maybe you should read where I said I didn't even design this myself. So why the hell would I gloat about a base I didn't even design.

This base protects resources better than any other I have tried, and I've tried about 20 different variations. And it has been to masters and won defenses up there. Of course it doesn't win every one but no th9 design can.

Nailed it.

And SuperCell could have fixed this ages ago when Leagues come in. Yet in their infinite wisdom payouts were only awarded for offensive wins; not defensive wins.

Giving defensive wins will encourage more of us farmers to try defend properly, rather then hiding our loot for 12 hr blocks by exposed halls; and stay online continuously for 6 hours much less.

Well i don't understand why you assume a base doesn't get raided because it is inactive. Like you said you are in a farming range, and you also happen to have some scrumptious looking loot there.. It may look easy to snag, possibly good reason to attack. Im sure if you had no resources to offer, you wouldn't be raided nearly as often..

I would agree with you. Being chain raided is terrible. At least now you know what it is like for all those guys who do not know that you should leave your th exposed.

Actually, part of the problem IS the cup range you are at. Full of th10 farmers that don't care about cups, only loot. So you are less likely to get a shield. If the league bonus was more worthwhile at that level people would actually try to win the attack.

the answer is not more inactives, but bigger league bonus and defensive win league bonus!

I hear that you feel you're being picked on for being an active player, but seriously what did you think would happen.You teased a bunch of lower level players with big time loot and they couldn't take down enough to give you a shield. And your in a trophy range where there is a lot of activity.

if all we saw when playing was inactive bases, it would get boring in a hurry. There would be no point in upgrading anything if we never got attacked. The game dynamics are what they are to ensure healthy development. We loot to upgrade to protect our loot or to get better at stealing loot. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose.

we never do see the stats on how many times someone has nexted past our own base. Who's to say someone isn't landing on our base every 2 minutes but are passed up for various reasons...... No loot, too hard to take, etc, etc

Precisely.
I think my base is great at 1600... Level 50's pour all level 4 troops and get 10%...
At masters I'm only winning one out of three defences and losing a lot of loot. It happens. That's the game of pushing.
But OP, I would address this thread at the real problem, no reward for trophies, rather than making it a complaint thread.

I think your overall base design, and your total amount of loot that can be stolen are the main targets for people looking to raid someone

So then what's the purpose of this thread? Are u complaining or are u just showing off? Anyways you lost tons of DE in on of the raids so ur design isn't all that @ protecting resources...It's easy for any hard core farmer to wipe ur storages clean with a couple wallbreakers and gobs

Dude, it doesn't matter how good you think your base is, if you have loot, you will be attacked. In your case, people are just going for one or two storages, which more than compensate for the trophies that they lose. Your base is a farmers dream.

I am not going to advise you to move up in trophy range, because up there, you'll get killed as well with all of your loot taken from you. Well, at least, you'll get to hide behind a shield for 16 hours after an attack. :rolleyes:

i can easily take 3,4 storages from the bottom by using loonions.. never say never...

Oh my god. No wonder why the forums have gone to ♥♥♥♥. I tried to have a discussion about defensive game mechanics and it degrades into a bunch of Napoleon complex "superfarmers" dragging it way off topic telling me how they can roll this base.

I don't care if you can or can't beat this base. My point was to talk about how winning 6 defenses in a row within 30 minutes punishes you worse than getting 3 starred from 1 attack.

Can anyone on this forum stay on topic?

Guys stop <edit> crying. Its getting annoying. The <people> in champs league complaining how they can't find opponents (well duh everyone is desperate to find an attack, EVERYONE so theres almost nobody left to get attacked), people crying about zapping, people crying bout IT, people crying how their OWN ACTIONS such as yours led to <♥♥♥♥>.

Sorry OP this new members on the forums have no will to debate anything.

They only care for their post count and to show that they are better than the others.

You started a thread to debate a idea, but no one have reed your post. They just come here and say they are better than you, your base sucks, move trophy range, I can raid you all day.

No one realized that base disign was not the topic in debate. Damn, they don't even understand that this was a experiment what you did.

The foruns nowadays are pretty much like global, troll and kids ( by kids I don't mean the age, but their behavior, many adults act like rude kids)

And yes j agree with you, you're penalized for protecting your th, that's why I have my th in a corner since th4. And it's free of traps just for you guys know :P

From the informed point of view, winning defenses punishes you. From an uninformed point of view, this is godsend. While you might not care about cups, there are plenty of people that do. And even you, as a farmer, must care because cups determine how good your loot is.

I don't understand what you want to happen, shields no matter what, or defensive loot bonuses?

Huh, test what? Since when is defending your TH a test. OP is a mid level th9 with lots of loot. Sitting in th10 farm range. So he gets farmed a lot with his TH inside. Would you expect anything different?

How many bases have you raided someone where the CC is empty, the base is covered in tombstones and the gold is sitting in the stores? I like those bases! Not as good as collector raids, but still good.

How many bases have you raided someone where the CC is empty, the base is covered in tombstones and the gold is sitting in the stores? I like those bases! Not as good as collector raids, but still good.

This is exactly what I wanted to see. How much I would get hit while holding all those resources. In a million years i never would have guessed that I could have defended 7 attacks in one night (i only screen shotted 6 but there was also a lame attack before that). Although I popped off earlier about gowi armies i do know once my traps are done my base usually gets beat. I was thinking id win one or 2 defenses and then pray for a 40% but expect a beating.

You dont think the frequency of attacks in such a short period of time is a bit crazy? And I really don't have an answer to what to do about it. I was just hoping to start a conversation that wasn't about loot.

I've had defensive runs where i can't even see the army composition of some of the attackers cause they scrolled off my revenge list while i was sleeping.

You are at Gold league for crying out loud. That's the game's way of telling you that you are 150 cups below your defense capabilities.

It is a no brainer that this would happen. If you sit on a lot of loot, you'd get raided more often.

I can tell you for a fact, if he had no loot, he'd get raided less often.

This is no test or experiment: it's common sense. He did a rather pointless exercise.

Pointless? This is a game man. I did it for fun just to see what would happen. I found it funny that I had enough attacks in a 30 minute span to deplete my xbows and I shared it with the forum.

He suggested that somehow, the more inactive a player was, the easier it was for everyone else to find him and vice versa for active player, regardless of his base design.

Well, that's not gonna happen. Inactive base equals to buried treasure of a dead man. I'll bet SC doesn't want us to keep treasure hunting all time, instead of cutting off each other's throat.

Loot bonus from defensive win ? That's not gonna happen either. Otherwise every TH 10 will stay at gold 3, swap their Town hall with an elixir storage and farm resources simply by doing nothing, relying on everyone sniping their one exposed storage.

The current system is, either keep your loot or your trophies. What else do you want ? It's a choice. It's the game.

True, I do have a problem with the game mechanics punishing people who play and farm a lot and letting people off the hook who don't play. But the defensive mechanics are part of that. You get punished for winning defenses.

And I agree the game is either farm or trophy hunt ( unless you are th10 with ITs). I was just trying to mix things up a bit.

Thing is, no one has yet found out any alternate methods to overcome that problem without letting people abusing the system and ruined the game. So I guess we just simply accept that. It might not be the best system, but certainly better yet than any other would be alternatives.

I guess you are correct, I don't see a fix for defensive wins unless they revamp the whole system. Other games have different servers with different rules. I'd love to see a second server with a "No win, no loot" policy. That would really mean trophys meant something. But I also know that would be very difficult to play based on the current upgrade system.

People have had lots of great ideas, SC just has not implemented them. At the root of the issue is cups has *very* little value to a very large population of players. Other then getting you to your farm range or that once a month you push. People have been talking about it for a very, very long time. Just the people who can change it are not listening.

Hey OP, lol i was a bit confused with the thread as well initially - not sure whether u were questioning about the lack of rewards or the MM system itself (30mins 6 attacks). Just my opinions:

1. If its about the rewards for successful defensive wins, then unfortunately the general definition of rewards in this case depends on whether u are chasing cups (TH inside) or protecting resources (TH outside / effective resources protecting base). If u are chasing cups, i would say u are well rewarded with the huge gain in trophies. If its about reources protecting, i would say its rewarding as well as u managed to test your base and see that most attacks are limited to less than 100K loot lost per attack - even though your TH is inside (which is what I'm doing in Masters 2/3 now). But of course, most farmers see it differently since resource protecting means having TH outside in the first place most of the time.

2. As for the MM policy - not sure if 6 attacks in 30 mins is normal but there are too many factors to consider. I.e time of the day, number of players, cup range, resources available etc. Like someone pointed out - perhaps its the tombstones and the resources that attracted those back-to-back attacks that u where getting.

However i do agree with u some comments on this thread is truly unnecessary and un-called for. Well... Thats life.. We cant please everybody eh? :rolleyes:

Dude, what a stupid post. Of course I can stand being attacked. If I was afraid to lose loot I would have left my th in the corner. I purposefully moved my th inside with a ton of resources. And I will say it for the 50th freaking time....I was just surprised that I got hit enough times in a 30 minute span to drain my xbows and I thought that was worth talking about.

The trophy system sucks. You should be put into a class with people of your same or close to your playing level. I can't tell you how many people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when a level 100+ player dumps trophies to go prey on the lower level people. EX: level 100 player vs level 95-105 is how it should be. Not level 100 vs level 60.

there's a loot penalty for that... lower th's won't be worth it unless they don't collect their collectors... and if they're lv 60 and the same th as a lv 100... well then thats their fault... I tried farming in gold and its just not worth it for the amount of skips so I went up to masters... much better and if low th's are in a higher cup range then they get poundef until they are in the right cup level... if all else fails... it's the way of this game higher th's feeding off of lower th's. im pretty sure people complaining about getting raided by higher th's are doing the exact same thing...

Wouldnt you consider it as a test that you get attacked 6 times in the span of 30 minutes and lose 700k gold since you put your TH inside?

that's the whole purpose of leaving TH outside and get attacked to have shield. besides, one layer of walls before reaching gold storages is very yummy
