TTII & TTIII Back To Back...at Level 60!

Last night, with the help and cheers of a few of my NH mates, I was able to accomplish both TTII and TTIII, back to back, with 5 minutes to spare and 6 of the 9 orders still checked!

I hadn't been that interested in doing TT, for some reason, so left it alone and never bothered. However, over the past week, I started feeling like I wanted to complete these achievements, so I finally decided to do it.

I was toward the end of level 59 when I began prepping 2-3 days before the run, working on getting at least 10 of every machine item (with the help of Tom) and stacking some things, as well. Then as I was getting close to seeing light at the end of the prepping tunnel, I leveled up to 60 and now had to add jellybeans and olive oil to my prepping. Even though I upgraded my barn once, opened up one plot of land, and sold all my ore and most of my axes and saws during my prepping, my barn was bursting at the seams, especially since I held on to all my EMs, and I finally decided to do the run last night.

I did buy a few things from the neighbors helping me, but if I had gone on to other orders and just kept going, I may have been able to make it without doing so, but you just never know what new orders will come up and whether they will definitely have a check mark already. I had 2 jewelry orders and one bar order and had what I needed for those. I even cut down and replanted 2 apple trees during this time...LOL!

Moral of this story? Even if you are at a higher level, you can still do TTII and TTIII, and with enough prepping, you can do them back to back! It also helps when you have ex-formula race car driver Hilda at the wheel of the truck! :D

Congratulations. Wish I could have been there to cheer you on. Great job. You should post this also on the TT thread so that folks will know it is possible at your level. Great Job!!!!!

I just did both today almost back to back. I'm level 56. Just like you, I never really felt like doing them until recently. It feels good to have accomplished it now that I'm done though. Congrats!

I done it at level 43, just before the lobster turn available. I too store lots of stuff and beside all my machine, there are food laying around... popcorn, bread,brown sugar and white sugars. I even store some plates and jewelry hoping to get free order and voucher... crazy me...

Yes, Jess, it feels great! I had fun doing it, actually, and would almost love to do it again...though I'm not super fond of the prepping part...that takes a good bit of planning.

That's not crazy...I had 3 orders during my challenge - 2 for jewelry and one for bars - so it can happen. :)

Thank you, dear! Having everything run so smoothly and seamlessly, and knowing I had 2 great friends as backups, really helped me with the cool, calm, and collected part. ;)

From some comments in this thread, it seems that TT is harder to get as you level up?

I'm level 42 and don't even have TT1. I assumed it would get easier at the higher levels. I might have to go ahead and knock it out.

Is there a recommended barn size for TT2 and 3 for mid40s level? I'm at 475 right now but feel like I'd need way more.

Sorry for the slight derail, congrats again. You've helped motivate me!

Its not that it gets any harder...you still have to fill the same number of orders in the same amount of time regardless of level...it's just as new products are gained from leveling up, that's another thing you have to be prepared for if it shows up on the order board.

As shown by KG and many others, its not impossible for higher levels, but its less of a prepping nightmare if done earlier on. I did TT III at LvL 53, but if I had to do it over again, I'd get it out of the way as soon as I could. The TT thread suggests having at least 5 of everything ready to go, plus animals and crops ready to harvest too. Barn size wasnt too big an issue as you have the ability to stack goods at the machines. Hope that helps you!

Well done to you both. It was a lot of fun being in the cubby with a glass of cool beer while Knitgal was running around getting all the work done. She made it look easy by the way. And the running commentary was wonderful. Sitting on the sidelines with the support crew was exhausting.....

I did TTIII at level 65 so it is quite possible to do it at the higher levels, but it does help to have the support of good friends and neighbours when achieving it, so thanks folks!

Turbo trucker is difficult due to all kinds of possible combinations of products that can be asked for. Lower levels have fewer types of products so preparing gets easier since there arent that many combinations possible. Higher levels on the other hand normally have a larger barn so they can stack more products. Although you should take notice that the orders are often larger on higher levels (or only to me :P). One could even argue that doing them on a lower level even adds difficulty since you easily run into the chance of leveling during the event. This adds the problem of unlocking new products that you simply cant make yet. I have actually completed tt2 *by accident*. Before going to bed I trashed all orders that I didnt like and when I woke up I had a streak of crop/easy orders. Im always picky with which orders I do so when my barn was filled to the notch I had to dump some stuff and I saw multiple orders ready to go. In the end I only had like 5 or so orders I couldnt complete where the DD offered an easy way out :). Im worried about tt3 though, that will be a pain Im saving for later :P.

I got TTI "accidentally"...it just happened. Because it only takes 10 runs in 30 minutes, it easily happened by simply doing the runs that came up...without any prepping. :)

I would suggest making sure you have at least 5 of each item in your barn...not just made, but actually in your barn...before you start stacking extra items. The link I provided in my OP will give you wonderful helpful tips. I printed the first two posts so I could look at it once I was off the computer. ;)

As far as barn size, I believe I've seen others talk about how their barns weren't really that large when they completed the task. I think that it's because we have the ability to stack items outside the machines...a great help!

Another must is to have at least 1, but better to have 2 friends (maybe in your NH or those whom you can contact quickly via KIK) be your backup so that if you literally do run out of something you need, you can let them know and hopefully they have it to sell to you. If not, they can scour the DD to look for the items for you, buy them, and then sell them to you. :)

Yes, as I have leveled up, I've noticed that some of the truck orders not only ask for a few more of the items they request, but also request more items in an order, i.e., at lower levels, an order may be for 2 different items and for 1-2 of each of those items, but at higher levels, the orders may now require 3-5 different items and ask for 3-4 of those items.

Don't worry so much about doing TTIII, just prep like crazy for a few days, making sure you have at least 5-6 of each item in the barn and all the stacking you can do. :)

Could you tell me which rule do you follow to discard an order? I have read somewhere in this forum (can't find it, sorry) something about keeping only orders that "complement" (?) What does this mean?

I mean, when you are prepping and tossing orders, which ones go first? Thanks.

I'm afraid I'm not sure either about what is meant by complimentary orders, but speaking only for myself, the way I chose orders for the first board was to discard any item which took a long time to make (jams, candy, cakes, metal ingots, jewelry) based on the fact that if I used those up first, then if they were called for on later boards, there wouldn't be time to make (or find & buy) new ones.


I also trashed orders calling for lots of bread, popcorn, or long term crops, again based on the assumption of needing them later on and also looking to making the most of barn space. The first board is the only one you have control over as far as choosing what's on it, so make every order on it as easy and as simple as possible to complete. The less you have to use early on means more to work with later!
