Rude, crude and undeserved!
So, yesterday I hit the trade thread, offering planks and panels for mallets, I asked to be contacted by kik like so many do, you get to chat in real time and it makes a much smoother transaction. I quickly had several offers as soon as I posted, I didn't realize that planks were scarce these days, as I had tons of them. My transactions went quickly and smoothly, all trades were with lower levels, and if you have traded with me, you know how I roll.
So after all my trades were completed and I was actually below what I would need for my BEM expansion, I noticed a kik user I asked to wait a bit. So I felt bad, not needing mallets anymore, I offered 20 planks for a variety of the 3 LEMs. I also included that I needed to get ready for work so this trade would have to be quick, I did not get an answer before I had to leave. So today, I got a late start at my farm, just finished a boat and helping neighbors, I get a kik message from that person I had contacted the day before, it was very vulgar and spewing with venom! I gotta say, I was floored and shocked at the content of the message that was directed at me. I scrolled to see if the person had even replied to my offer for planks, I even stated in the offer that I felt bad for not trading with them, an offer that I would be using 20 of my stock that I would need for my upgrade. Yup, they responded 2 hours after I had made my offer, obviously if I state the trade needed to be quick, 2 hours would obviously be past my "quick trade offer". So this message was sent to me the next day, over 24 hours later, because I did not respond to his late reply to my more than generous offer :confused:
So, the point of my post is this, you have no idea who is on the other side of the screen, if you don't know the person in real life, then all you have is what they tell you or you read on here. I'm not some kid playing on the computer, in real life I am a mature woman, Pastors wife of 25 years, mother and grandmother. I don't just talk the talk, I live my faith, I'm far from perfect, but my faith is to the core of my being and I strive to do the right thing. I could go on, but that's pretty much who I am and what I do.
In the game, I play the same way I live my life, I have completed several land expansions for numerous farms by myself, have given countless high ticket items, LEMs, BEMs and SEMs for 1 coin so the farmer can get some much needed coins or upgrade. I help my neighbors, try to keep hard to find items in my RSS and always open one of each crate for others to fill for their boat score, even though I am able to fill them myself. I'm not really that interested in leveling up, I play to relax and have some fun, and I always send off my sugar and dairy boast un filled...lol
See, I bet you didn't know that about me huh? well of course you didn't, I have never posted this on the forum, in fact, I hardly even post on the forum anymore, but that doesn't mean Im not here. I pretty much lurk in the back ground and enjoy the forum reads, some of you are just too funny! But because you didn't know that about me, that shouldn't make one bit of difference on how you talk to me or treat me. We all have a story, a history, hurts, habits and hang ups!
So in case you were wondering, yes, I did respond to her/his message, I have yet to get a response, but I actually doubt that I will.
The point is, you don't know who is on the other side of the screen, so treat them better than you want to be treated.
This is just a game, it's meant to be fun, so if you are having a bad day, or not getting what you desperately are searching for, just shut down the game and try again tomorrow, perhaps that is the day you'll find it, or maybe someone will just give it to you :) There is no time limit as to how quickly you need to expand your barn, silo, land or fishing area, that is the beauty of this game, it' doesn't matter how fast or how slow you are, our crops don't wither and our animals survive without scheduled feeding, so they will be there when your ready to come back to play!
