I would like to have a second farm on my iPhone (currently playing on an old iPad). I installed Hay Day on my phone, but have not opened it yet. When I set up the new farm can I use my same GC and Facebook accounts or do I need to create new ones. (Can I create a different GC account)?
I read about switching your farm to a new device (and that will come in handy soon, as my ipad1 is not updateable anymore and that is creating problems...but that is another issue)
If your device never played Hay Day before (or restored from a backup of a device played Hay Day), the game will recognize the device as new and start with a new farm.
One farm can be attached to only one Game Center account and/or FB account at one time. By using the same GC and FB account on your iPhone, you don't lose your friends BUT you must be careful when the game asked if you want to load another farm previously linked to that GC/FB account (actually the farm on your other device). You need to always choose "No, keep current game" (which means you unlink the other farm and link the current farm to the current in use GC/FB account). By doing so, your other farm is "abandoned" without any backup account.
Your friends will see your farm changing to another level now and then and won't be able to access your old farm while you are playing with the new one.
Troublesome? Oh yes if you have to choose several time a day. Who knows you or someone else won't inadvertently choose the wrong option and overwrite your farm. Then you have to contact support and wait for 4 weeks....
My advices:
- make a new GC account to keep the new farm on iPhone safe.
- Backup your devices with iTunes regularly (restore from backup will also restore the farm).
- Avoid having multiple farm on one device, it's risky if you don't know what you are doing.
Keep in mind FB is primarily used to bring friends to your game, it's not safe to trust FB to save your progress in long term (tap Disconnect and your game is unlinked right away) .

One thing I need to add to meonhoc's advice. If you try to create a new Game Center ID on a mobile device you WILL need to enter a payment method. But if you create a new one on a computer you won't. I had soooooo much trouble creating a new ID on my new ipad. I kept entering an iTunes gift card but it never seemed to take. The other thing you have to understand is that you will need a new email address. If you have put in a second email address with your first GC ID, and try to use it, it won't work. It won't tell you why, it just won't work. I had to call Apple to find out that five - six of my emails addresses had already been associated with an iTunes account. One from a long time ago apparently on my first iBook.
So yes the best way to create a second far is to do it a if you were someone else. My kids had trouble because they use my iTunes account to make purchases on their devices. So they had to create their own GC ID's separate from mine and had to have two email addresses. One for the GC account and one for a recovery email. They could not use mine anymore.
