what is wrong with some of you people?

I don't mind getting attacked. its part of the game. but I keep having these attacks that make absolutely no sense what so ever.

why would some one attack with 3 dragons and 15 level 3 giants as well as archers barbs and 2 spells in order to get 170k elixir and almost no gold.

at first I though it was for the 390 dark elixir but then I noticed he also used a golmn and a witch which cost him almost twice the dark elixir he used on the attack

is loot so scarce that some one would spend that kind of fire power to get 8000 gold.



and it happens quite often. maybe there are a lot of clash players who refused to take math class

You're assuming they are after recs. He could just be collecting TH, Morts, ITs, Xbows or {fill in the blank} for Achievement points. If he's like most higher level players collecting pink is easy so blowing it to 3 star a base for the achievement kills is worth it.

I deployed 50 minions to destroy 3 mortars on the exterior of a guy's base and then surrendered :-) I'm sure it looked pretty weird to the defender.

It could also be an experiment to test out with troop combos. That's the point of the game, innit?

Many higher level players do not care about elixir costs at all, it's easy to come by at their level. Sometimes it is also leftovers that we made to donate yet we did not get to, so we dump dragons, pekkas, giants etc. on somebodies base. Sometimes it's just for fun and sometimes it's experimental. Plus many times it's for cup count and resources do not matter at all, if you get loot that's just a bonus. So don't assume players are not smart enough to add the costs, just roll with it as there are way to many players in this game with different agendas than you have and your going to be upset a lot if you can't handle the random (seemingly senseless) attacks on your village.

Sometimes right before bed I will roll over a base that I consider to be setup with exploitable weakness, just for fun.

You should watch these replays and consider reorganizing some defenses.

I also think a lot of those are young kids. They either have been playing forever upgrading slowly because they are incompetent raiders and get just enough loot to upgrade things over time. Or they are using a friend or family member's account for fun. I have let my kids play with my account and they cook odd troops and just throw them in at random and watch what they do. In order words, they just have fun, and nothing wrong with that. :D But it does look pretty crazy from the other side.

Don't forget the bonus.

I get 33k-55k of each for a successfull attack. So an attack that look to be only worht 50k gold is indeed 83-105k gold.

But sometimes I'm just bored and I wan't a win just for fun. In the bus, during lunch or before going to bed.

The game is suppose to be fun anyway? How fun it is to only attack for profit.

I actually have this happen a lot to me as well. Full on army's with both heroes and usually 3-5 spells. Pretty much always a deficit in elixer, and dark elixer and only a little gold gained.

They usually get about 60% of my base. This does however mean they get half of my storages. Sure, their attack costs more then they gained, so this might seem as a win to me. But it feels more like a loss to both. Why even attack?

Sometimes we forget this is a game. And the purpose of the game is to have fun. Some like you have fun farming endlessly with archer and barbarians while others enjoy the higher tier troops go at it.

For example if I see someone who sniped me is pushing, I'll wait until they reach about 300 trophies above me and revenge then to set them 4 attacks behind. Profitable? No. Enjoyable? Quite.

The whole point of that raid was to confuse you! He did it JUST to make you care about his brain capacity:rolleyes::cool:

Let people do what they wish, people get to whirled up about others, and miss out thinking about themselves.

Someone hit my th7 with a complete overkill attack last night for 200k gold, and only about 12k elixer. He used three rage spells, level 9 BK, two dragons, and the rest was a never-ending flood of level 5 wizards.

Considering one AD and one Tesla were upgrading and the CC was empty, he could have saved a lot of resources and still 3-starred me, but whatever makes him chuckle I guess. There were probably still 30+ wizards alive at the end of the rout.

I've never really worried about why someone attacks me .. We post the replays & laugh at how much he threw at me/us for 12% .. Its fun

The most fun is those rare moments when i get owned ... 3 starred .. Nothing better in life than being completely wiped out. Its a game .. Its fun. For all the damage we do .. The least we deserve is to be knocked around once a week or so.

If you think about it, most attacks on a well designed base fall into 2 major camps.

1) The attack has superior attacking power, and barring a stupid decision will steam-roll your base
2) The attack isn't very skilled, maybe they luck out, but there attack fails.

Then occasionally I watch a raid and say, wow - they knew what they were doing. I then watch that raid 2-3 times. This is how I learned what a good Barch attack actually looks like. This is also how I learned that most hog attacks are from people who are falling into category 1 but once I redesigned by base they fell into category 2. I've watched good loon raids on youtube but haven't had many honestly good attempts on my base - many bad ones (such as a 28-30 loon raid on my Th9 base that failed miserably and used all 5 spells)

Even on the forums many people simply fall into category 1. There not attacking a challenging base, just one that they can easily raid. Then they act like this takes real skill. Again, I learned to barch when skilled players took me for everything I had BUT most players don't really know how to attack.

Have you seen champs? A lot of champs use over-powered and expensive composition just for trophies. They don't care about resources at all.

I have these attacks on my th 8 side account. Obviously I expect to get 2 or 3 starred on that account, but it honestly boggles my mind when they blow out 2 spells to hit elixir storages, on top of the expensive troops they are using. I'm all for destroying a base on a revenge for the heck of it, but I hardly raid on that account. Wasted resources + decent loot = no play time. My only costs in master are resetting traps and defences.

My clanmate showed a replay of him being attacked by 12 dragons, and 3 rage spells. The attacker got 100%, but only walked away with 22,000 gold, 4,000 elixir, 200 dark elixir, and 13 trophies. I don't see how it was worth it :P

Honestly, some people are just really dumb and don't consider the costs of troops and spells before they raid for resources. These people are usually the younger kids or older adults that rarely play games. Sure some people may be raiding for reasons other than resources, but a lot of the time it's just people not knowing what they're doing.

Watch again and you will notice a definite lack of giants (the fire breathing kind)

I love experimenting with attack combinations!! Cookie cutter attacks are for followers and not leaders.

after reading the first 2 posts the whole thing makes sense. but I would have thought a tiny bit of patience would result in the same thing as every single base has the same stuff to destroy.

but patience isn't always fun I guess.

For the funsies? I do all drags or mixture of useless troops or every troops raids for no loot but just for the fun of it, as after all it is a game.
