What if I told you that under my duck/spacesuit I was confused 0.o
Tried Boom Beach, doesn't nearly have the potential Clash of Clans still have.
The fact that you cannot really create your own identity with a base like the walls allow you to do in Clash of Clans and the fact that there is not alot of strategy involved, a.k.a. beach landing on one side and optionally guide troops with flares. Meh..
COC Factor: People like building bases and setups. Just like in C&C, and Red Alert people liked making beautifully crafted setups with turrets etc. just like a little fortress and it gives the player an online identity. Boom Beach fails in that.
OMFG!!!!! supercell is a business corporation, who had know that?
Now seriously, are you really surprised by this marketing move?
It's how business corporations work/marketing in this day we live on. I'm not a fanboy, but I was not surprised by this, or the barrracks boost change or every other moves supercell did as a business corporation.
But......i'm surprised by the amount of people rant how a business corporation act as a business corporation
is anyone naive enough to really think that this was done out of the goodness of SC's heart? Of course its for PR and promotion (its a good idea too tbh).
but so what - free trip, bit of a tour and a bit of recognition for helping to promote their business.
sounds like a good deal to me either way.
From a marketing/ business stand point, they would NEVER try to pull the focus off clash and try to get people to adopt Boom Beach as the new flagship game. The majority of SC's income has come from clash(and the merger). After playing some boom beach, I can say that they will never make as much off of boom as they do off clash. I like boom though, it can be played along side clash because it takes FAR less dedication, but is still a lot of fun and has some intriguing difference!
You sure know a lot about marketing (sarcasm)
Reed the post above yours, the one from snnoggybowman.
And you are very very wrong about your notion of market.
Supercell (like any other company out there) is using their already established fan base, to promote/hype another of their product. Do you know coca-cola? Coke? Of course you know. But did you know the company have several drinks apart from coca-cola?
There was this promo coca-cola was doing when They released the new Fanta. Guess what....could buy a new fanta and you will be offered with a free coke.....did you see what they did there?
By your marketing knowledge this would be impossible because the company that sell coke (the cash cow) would be driving away their costumers from coke to fanta.
The coke fans all have tasted the new fanta because there was a offer with something they already love, making them to cosume the regular amount of coke and once in a while a fanta.
Like supercell did, used their huge fan base of coc to promote/hype their new product/game.
Do you really think if boom beach was released by another videogame company it would had so much hype?
