[1 hour boost - 5 gems] vs. [2 hour boost - 10 gems]
Many of us have seen people asking for the barracks/spell/maybe heroes boost to decrease to 1 hour for 5 minutes. This is a minor change, but many people would appreciate it, and it's easier to work with than 2 hours for 19 gems simply because not everyone has the time to sit and clash 2 hours without interruption. I do, but I like this idea.
Sometimes loot is bad and halfway through the boost I quit (Supercell makes money because of this reason; people quit halfway between raids, have to go, etc.). Maybe if the boosts were decreases to 1 hour - 5 gems more people would boost because they can quit, and it's not as big a deal to loose 10-20 gems as it is 20-40 (considering you boost either 2 or 4 barracks, spells and heroes not included).
Pros of boosting barracks in general:
-Quicker raids
-Efficient if raiding properly
-Etc. (I'm not gonna list all I can think of)
Cons of 2 hour boosts:
-Player may lose out on gems due to some reason they can or can't control (bad loot, going out, etc.)
-Not everyone is able to play 2 hours straight
Pros of 1 hour - 5 gems boosts:
-Average clasher (I assume) is able to play at least 45-60 minutes non-stop once a day
-Not as big a loss on gems if you quit halfway through
-Same as 2 or 4 hour boosts- just cut in half or a fourth
-More people will boost (again, I assume due to more flexible boost options)
Cons for 1 hour boost:
-Your boost may be over while nexting if you are clashing > 1hr
-People may be more willing to spend the gems to use half the time, thereby wasting money. (Pro for SC )
-Your wife will not want to wait to go to dinner, just because you can have a 1 hour boost now.
