With balloons you don't go anywhere near those infernos. It is all about hitting the buildings you ignore while farming. Builder huts, barracks, spell factory. You are looking for bases with those buildings are not in the core.

Pony up $10 on some gems, boost your spell factory, use Balloonions and get them one stars!
I don't really fancy spending money on gems. Some do, I'm not one of them is all. As I said. I'm still curious on the loonion strategy how people draw out the cc troops and AQ to kill them? Still not sold on the loonions for one star yet :)
Good point mate. I'm thinking the same way. I've been offline on the game for 50 minutes and surprisingly have not been raided yet?! I just hope it is not a revenge is all but at least they will have to work for it as I don't care about any resources during the push.
16 balloons and 70 minions I found a lot of success with in my last push witch I did make masters in i used 2 rage spells usully
How i lure cc is If cc is centralized i send 1balloon over the walls to lure I try to attack bases I can lure cc with minions I don't bother with bk cause he can't hurt flying troops. Aq is usually easy to lure and a group of 5 or so minion work well to get her.
i found 16 balloons 2 groups of 8 with a rage for each group and 70 minion for clean up was more successful for me but it depends n how you see the game. For me I find it easier to use a bigger clean up force. Also I found wizard towers to be the biggest killer of balloons in my push not air defence surprisingly so I usually attack bases with easy to reach air defence and wiz towers. If you allow a wizard tower to attack your balloons there splash damage is quite severe. Also multi infernos do quite a number in them as a fellow th 9 I avoided most bases with multi infernos just cause if you make one little mistake on those things the will eat you. Balloons is a sure way for masters you just gotta be smart on your bases and don't under estimate wizard towers lol.
Btw waiting on spells is the kicker with balloons why I only usually used only 2 rage but I would recommend 3 rage and 1 lighting for cc hope this helps.
Please note I did not try beyond 2718 trophies
but....
1) I pick bases with centralized IT - and just ignore them or single target infernos (attack outer 50%)
2) Find bases that did not properly upgrade other defenses (mostly archer towers and not maxed wizard towers & AD)
3) I carry a lighting - I only lure if its easy, otherwise I use the thunder god for wizards (I use cc troops against archers if I got a drag, draw them to defenses and kill with splash, or use the spell)
4) I don't attack bases with an active Queen above lvl 15, I'll take a 20 if lureable and I got good cc troops
5) I focus on one AD or two if not well protected
I did not have allot of nexts right up to 2718 but then I often took 20 loons and donated tons of minions - it was with 220 troops though
Not saying that will get you to Masters I but its pretty darn good for farming in Masters III
Please also note my Queen was essential for the last 1-3%
I guess I just suck with loonions at high level then as all three losses of mine today have been with loonions. I tried with 24 loonions or with 16-18 loonions and lost each time with full spells.
As for CC, it is not always so simple as you can't "just draw them out like normal" as a balloon is quite often dead before it even reaches the CC range. I tried taking two full corners and then follow with minions but dead every time
Back to hogs I guess as that last 21 trophy loss just set me back an hour or more unfortunately.
Don't feel bad. Back in Christmas boosting specials I was throwing 24 balloons 2-4 spells every battle trying to get into Masters. I could not even break the 2580 barrier
I then tried again with the hero/spell boosting special. I used 1-2 spells a battle getting to masters this time, but I was frugal because I was a new Th10 (needed my elixir for camp upgrades). Before this attempt I had practiced on weaker bases. I tried different deployment tactics and got good at a range of maneuvers. Then when I got beyond 2400 I realized my single biggest flaw was thinking I had to attack IT towers. I now just attack things outside of their range, but this also requires I deploy just enough loons to do get the job done, but not more. I also need to know how many loons can handle which towers.
Archer Tower & Tesla - 2 loons (note Teslas are more dangerous because of there DPS, but there short ranged)
Wizard Tower - 3-4 depending how well protected. 2 if exposed. Its important to deploy loons so that the splash damage is minimized
AD - 5-8 depending on how exposed. Most Masters III bases will require 8. With 16 loons this means your limited to how many points in a base you'll tackle. So the AD has to be fairly exposed.
If AD towers are heavily centralized you can target the wizard towers and let your minions make short work of the other buildings outside the range of x-bows, AD, and IT towers. (in this scenario I may even just spread out the loons and put the minions close behind. If there is enough unprotected buildings, you get 50% with no spells)
