Ragnarok - A TH9 Elite Farmer Base

Hey guys, up until now I've been copying existing bases and have been happy with the performance, but I wanted something original that I could love and not just like. So I created my own for the first time, I've dubbed it Ragnarok as the design is inspired by Norse art, specifically the Gosforth Cross in Gosforth, UK.

So, key design points for me are:

- A range of Giant Lures and traps.
- Anti-Hog with traps near defences.
- Storages separated by distance and in different sections.
- The classic Town Hall in corner.
- Trash buildings used to create killzones for defences.
- Centralised Clan Castle and Heroes (normally housing 25 barbs which are great on defence).
- Good coverage with Xbows.

Only had the base a few days so defence log is pretty predictable. Endless TH snipes. I've had three major attacks and two have two starred me. If I was to switch this to a trophy base I feel confident it'd stand up well. The ones that two starred me both used 25+ Hogs plus Heroes and Dragons. I'll post the log when more interesting.

Thoughts and feedback?

Two things. The center of your DE/gold/mortars are in coordination, but your wizard towers are off. The upper left two wizard towers are barely protecting anything at all. And you have two mortars stuck between wizard towers making it easy to lightning 2 of them down together.

I will spare you of long paragraphs of why antihog designs are better because alot of people here will uncontrolably do so. Well, that being said, antihog bases do have a lower overall risk to losing resources.

Thanks, I agree, I wasn't 100% happy with the defence layout, it's why I asked for fresh eyes.

I almost never get hit by hogs, almost always giant/healer.

I would definitely attack from the right, as I could get 3 gold storages and your DE. Try to spread out the gold a bit more.

Hmmm, good point. I've already separated the resources from an earlier version. Any thoughts on how I could reconfigure? I want to avoid all my resources in the central cross.

I dunno...seems like a modified pokeball, and im not so sure bout the layout I can see this easily getting wtecked, no offense. and its not very anti-hog, hogs would wreck this base.

It is true that hog armies have been the most successful but they certainly haven't been crushing defeats like I've seen with level 5 Hogs. I have plenty of traps set near to defences, perhaps I need to double them up..

What would you suggest?

The hog raids. I was sitting on a lot of gold waiting for a builder to finish.
