Dark Elixir troop that you can make how ever strong as you like!

Hello everyone! Thanks for reading the start (and hopefully the whole thing).

I've searched that whole forum and can't find ANY post/thread/poll relating to a troop like this.

This troop (Haven't thought up of a name yet. Maybe 'Dark Mist'?) Would be a nice for the DE rich and poor.

I thought of this idea when I saw a group of minions in a replay, and though, ''Wouldn't it be nice if that was 1 whole troop'', hence me making this post.

The idea is, that a dark elixir troop could be made as big or as small as the player wants (housing space wise).

Here is how it works:

It would be unlocked at level 8.
What the player dose is selects the troop like any normal troop and the more ''Original Small One/s'' (Will be refered to as OSO later in the thread) they add, the more health points it has, the bigger damage it has and and all other things (apart from movement speed that gets smaller by '1' every 5 OSO)

''Whats the point?!'' You may well be thinking. Well, to make the troops more attractive, after every 5 OSO trained, you get the same as 1 extra OSO's hitpoints, damage and so on.

Even if someone trained any batch of them at different times in different baracks, it would still combine into the whole on (Nerfing it a little so it is not over powered)

This is the main idea behind the troop.


Here is the stats: (Not sure about some of them will be changed)

It would also x2 times vunrable to splash damage!

It cannot be healed with spells or a Healer!

Disco balls will target 1 of its paths at it per group of 5 OSO!

Also, like in golems, witches and heroes, in the info, there will be the little blue ''...'' button, showing your current ''big one'' and a single OSO

Hit points Per single OSO: 30

Training cost Per single OSO: 50 DE

Movement speed Per single OSO: Same as a minion (not certain about the number -_-)

Damage per second Per single OSO: 27

Hit rate per single OSO: 3 times every second.

Housing space per single OSO: 4

Favirote Target: Anything

Description: The perfect troop for the rich and the poor in Dark Elixir. Make it as big as you want, or as small as you want! But because of its huge power, it cannot be healed!

Very very interesting, unfortunately I dont quite understand your explanation on the stats of the troop. Maybe if you give some examples? Or the base stats of each OSO and how does the stats evolve when combined?

Your partly correct (in my oppinion :P) It is a smaller troop that ALWAYS addis itself to a bigger one (even if theres only 4) But it is worh making them in batches of 5, because you get that stats of a 6th one added on for free (Buy 5, Get One Free, I you like)

As for stats, here are some examples:

As A Group of 14 OSO's:

Blue = the ones the player trains
Red= stats that get added on every 5 (Buy 5 get 1 free)
Hit Points: 35 x 14 = 490 + 70 Total: 560 Hit points

Training cost: 30 DE x 14 = 420(no bonus/free DE)

Movement speed: Same as minion MINUS 2 Because 2 ''Big'' ones were added together.

Damage per second: 30 x 14 = 420 + 60 Total: 480 DPS

I don't recall anything like that.

I think this is an intereting idea. So is this troop tht you deploy and it puts the troops together in a certain range. Maybe there could be a new builing attown hall 7-8 that is combiner. You could train join points for a certain type of troop and it will join together. +1

So if I combine 10, and it takes 50% 'damage' does that mean it's now effectively 5?
And does the damage as if it was 5 troops not 10 troops?

So it gets weaker as it's component OSO's (terrible name by the way! :)) get 'killed' off.

Hey.

You may not know this, but you really shouldn't post ruled out ideas, and doing so will result in your thread being locked. While this idea ISN'T ruled out (Unless my sticky memory is outdated), members are allowed to post on threads telling others (In a kind fashion), that the idea is ruled out, as it helps that member to NOT post ruled- out ideas in the future. Just because everyone liked an idea wouldn't change the fact that it was ruled out.

It's actually a very interesting, non- ruled- out idea.

Well, No :P

If your trained 10, all the stats from the 10 will be combined, and because you trained TWO batched of 5, you would get TWO extra OSO added onto the main big one for free!

So you mean that this unnamed troop is a single troop that gets bigger and badder the more OSO you pump in it? And the only limit you have is the DE you have and your max housing space?

Yes, that's really the whole idea of the troop.
Its almost like if you trained 50 barbs, you would get a barb king. Sorta.

The reason they would do this is because most of the DE troops have a special ability, like summoning troops or dividing when dead. This would be this troops "ability"

I am also debating weather to change its housing space to a higher number

Ok, now that i got the whole idea of your troop here.. Let me start...

First the idea of a troop with the ability to combine with one another to become gradually stronger is very interesting.But the troop you proposed here is grossly overpowered, with only your housing space and dark elixir as limitations.2 housing space for one 'component' and 35 DE.

Say that i want to revenge another player just because he totalled my village (DE is no object and I am able to farm 10k DE in a day)

So i spent 1750 DE, making 50 of the OSO and end up with a gargantuan troop of 1750 (!!!) dps and 1750 hitpoints with a very slow movement speed using 100 housing space.

I still have 140 housing space and also did a bunch of witches with some giants, wizards and others. The big guy will destroy any buildings with one hit bar the townhall and backed up by witches? Glad there are walls that could slow the guy down... Wait, he also passes through walls?!
Pack up my revenge with 4 rage and a lightning spell.
What chance do you think the defender have against such monstrosity?

perhaps a lot of tweaks are needed here...

I guess the point of your troop here is that it will get stronger the more DE you invest in it, so limiting the maximum number of OSO kinda break the point.

one helpful way to preserve balance of such an entity is to apply deminishing returns. Meaning the more OSO you have combined, the lesser power up the big guy will gain. Simple example is for every 5 OSO combined, the hp increase would get -2 and dps increase would be reduced by 1. Say 1 oso have 10 dps and 20 hp, using 5 of them will get you a troop with 50 dps and 100 hp, putting a sixth would get the dps to 59 and hp to 118. 10 OSO would have 95 dps and 190hp. The more OSO you have, the lesser the effect gets.

This could prevent it becoming too weak when a small number is used and too strong when a lot of them are combined and still enable unlimited number combined with a minimum point where diminshing returns stop, say at 5 dps and 10 hp each OSO.

There are many more ways for the troop to be balanced through calculations and i think it would require quite the complicated solution because the base of your idea. I myself might have some different ideas, but seeing this is your idea, i should not disrupt it further.

Name: Dark Mist

Appearance: a misty black cloud (that gets bigger after every OSO you pump in)
And eventually grows a skull and skeleton hand inside (made of a denser clump of fog.)

Seriously? Nitpicking on a newer member? EVERYONE posts troop/spell ideas in Ideas and Feature Requests and vice versa.

The thread will likely be moved- not closed or trashed, but moved. An idea being posted in the IDEAS SUBFORUM is much closer to the right subforum than, say, a thread about using BAM in Bugs and Problems.

Your post (And this one) could technically be considered spam or inflammatory, as they do not have anything to do with what is being addressed in the thread. Dozens of threads are made every day in general that could have found a more proper home in a different subforum, and they are moved by moderators, without members haranguing the OP about the thread being in the wrong subforum. I really wish that the placement of threads be ignored, and instead comments be focused on feedback to the topic of the thread (As I have already given).

Calm down, i never said what would happen to this thread i just warned him he had broken the rules (i didnt make those rules by the way, if you have a problem with them take it up with supercell)

This doesn't make sense at all

This is a very good idea.

I personally would use this troop a lot if they add it. Can it go over walls and if so is it targeted by air defense?

I am thinking it as OP as it already is, so no it wont be able to go over walls.

BUT to nerf it, it WILL be open to Air defence fire!
