I agree with the current event Shealie. It doesn't change the boats I fill but I can imagine it might cause others to give the trucks priority, but I was mainly thinking about the ones that have us collect a certain item, like the pumpkin pie one. Those kinds of events really throw things off. Not only is there no pumpkin pie to be had, but the other pie machine goods get scarce quite quickly and if you aren't careful, you might forget to send off a boat that asks for casserole thinking you can get help with it. It actually makes me sad when I see one asking for something I normally have loads of and would jump to fill but can't because for the last three days I had been making something else for the event. I'm just glad they are time limited, something some folks don't remember based on the number of posts bemoaning the lack of things in the paper, like when we had that Bacon and egg event.
I help absolutely as much as I can but there are limits. I usually feel bad if I clear out someone's shop and then can't help the boat. But it's short lived and I move on.
Also there are limits. For example I am perpetually short on sugar and dairy, so I won't /can't help with those crates.
Also, this is the double $ trucking event, so virtually (pun intended) everyone is short of stuff and simply buying buying buying what they can. If I ran into a RRS like your's during this event, you bet I'm buying you out - because I need it for the trucks. :D
If I have the product, I'll help whether its a neighbor, follower or DD stranger.
I do it for the XP, I don't really pay attention to who's boat I am helping.
Help who I can, whenever I can, if I have that product I help unless it's dairy or sugar. I cast them boats off if I get them as I can't keep up the demand of lots of things needing sugar/dairy.
I help who I can...When I can...If I can. Dont matter if you are a neighbor, friend or random in the DD. Especially if I snatch all your goodies in your RSS. I then feel compelled to help your boat.
Awww...right back at ya Sweetie!!
Regarding the events, yes, I agree about those item-specific ones. That's why I didn't play in the last two for the cookies or pumpkin pies. The bacon/eggs one burned me on them. I can't stand the artificial shortages those kinds of events cause, then there's the boat help issue, the tie-up-one-machine issue, etc. The fact that we haven't seen one since Valentine's Day gives me hope that SC has given up on that kind of event. These other events are so much more fun and productive, IMO. And way less stressful, especially when you're basically competing with yourself. My fave is the fishing event, especially since I'm still halfway trying to fill up my fishing book. Guess I'll work on it harder when I've completed my last two achievements. Then there won't be anything left to do! (Well, achievement-wise.) :)
What effects my decision to help others… do I have the item they need in stock? Is it coming up on my next boat order? Do i need it for a truck order? That's what effects my decision. I fill crates for fun, not recognition or credit.
