I've tried logging out of Facebook, signing out of the GC. On iPad and phone. Logging in, out, shaking it all about... any and all combinations of the above. Changed my FB photo yesterday and it came back for a little while and is gone again today. Changing photo again makes no difference so that was probably just an intermittent fix which had nothing to do with it.
Around 50% of my neighbours are now gingerbread heads, and they certainly all had proper photos before.
Apparently, GC neighbours can see my GC avatar, but I can't. FB neighbours can only see the gingerbread head.
It's most annoying because I can't see which neighbours I've helped with their boat crates and which I haven't, because there are gingerbread heads everywhere!!!

and when I fill crates on the boats that I help people , the pics are also not on the crates .
and I have asked some people if they have the same problem and they say yes.

I use the same picture for both my Facebook account and GameCentre. This has always displayed on any crates I close on boats until the last week or so. Now when I close a crate, I just see the gingerbread man. I have double checked that the photo is still on my FB and GC accounts, I have closed out of HayDay and gone back in, but still no picture again. I found I was not signed in to GC in the settings of my iPad, so signed in and then turned closed HayDay and opened it again. Still no picture.
Why did it disappear??
And how do I get it back??

Not sure on your case. I am android and use FB, but when I logout FB on my farm, the same will happen.
Is it possible your game is slow enough that when you close crate and do NOT wait..... say 15 seconds to see if it shows then?
Mine is slow lately, so I wait to make sure I DO get the XP's and boat score points. eventually my photo is there.

That is strange. on your friends bar do all your friends have a pic? if there isn't maybe it is
tied to the fact of being not signed into game center. are you on an KOS device?
There are times when you may be on hay day, playing away but you aren't connected to Game Center. It happens on my older device a lot more than my new one. If you open your friends list and all the frames are blue, that means you aren't connected to Game Center. I've tried closing out of everything and going back in, which sometimes works. I understand you can log out of Game Center and log back in from the settings windows on your device. I have finally had to reset all settings to get it back once, but that means you have to reset, preferences like whether you enabled any restrictions, disabled in app purchases, and even the check box for web sites to remember you. Had a heck of a time remembering my face book password, so be careful with that one.
Thanks for this Tigg. Occasionally my friends list shows 5 blue frames only and nothing on the help bar. When I close the iPad completely and reopen it things are usually back to normal. I did not realise it was a game centre thing.Quote:

Yes, was going to say: the pics come from your chosen main avatar Facebook photo.
I was having that problem today, too...fill a few crates on others' boats and my avatar wasn't there, but I knew I was the one that filled it as I could see I received the coins, etc., for filling it.
My neighbors' avatar on the Friends bar were visible, but if I was going from RSS to RSS, their avatar was just the gingerbread man until I was in their RSS, then their avatar showed up.
I play here and there throughout the day and don't actually "close out" of the game, i.e., I don't completely exit the game by double-tapping the "home" button and then swiping it closed, I just tap the "home" button once. After playing for a few times over the next hour or two with the same thing happening, all of a sudden, everything was back to normal. :confused:

The same occurred to me. It's very frustrating, my friends don't help me as often now, and now I really believe it has to do with my faceless crate.
Supercell, I know you said you were working with Facebook to resolve the issue but how about in the meantime you just give us the option to upload a pic to hay day? It gets confusing when everyone looks the same!!
They are aware of this thanks to everyone's posts on it. They are looking into what may be causing the problem. It would be very helpful if everyone would post what device you use. Knowing if this is limited to Android or iOS or if it's affecting both would help to shrink the area that they need to search for the problem.
This has been a problem for me for over a week. I am on a IPad, but I am also connected to Facebook. It's happened to both Facebook and GC friends' avatars.

what i notice as well, is that resolving of the avatars in the friends-bar is intermittent and very slow as well.

I understand that this issue is being worked on but it has been 2 weeks already!😢 I really feel this is affecting gameplay because at times it's difficult to see who has helped you, especially on boat crates. Since we're now having a boat event I really hope this gets fixed soon. I really didn't think it would be so annoying to not have a picture😣

It's kinda nice to see that although we're the most 'active' regarding this issue, the 'views' count for this topic is by far the largest in the bugs&issue subforum.
This leads me to believe that there might be more people interested in the outcome.
I know I will be very happy to see this problem resolved! It is most annoying to continually see default pics. I love playing but this problem has caused me to slow down on playtime. I have tried everything to no avail. I want to see my friends and my own profile pic again!
They are still working on trying to figure out why this is happening. It's possible that it may be on FB's end and not SC's. As annoying as this situation is, it does not keep people from playing the game. Issues that DO prevent people from playing the game take priority...no matter how many views a thread has.
As to thread views, if a mod, checks a thread 5 times a day, then it registers as 5 views. If someone who posted to a thread, comes back a few times to see who else posted to it, each view registers. So, if 3 people each view the thread 5 times, it registers as 15 views even though only 3 people have ever looked at.
EDIT: My moderator tools say that 48 people have opened this thread and viewed it over the 2 weeks since it was created...hardly the most viewed thread in the bugs section. I alone, as a moderator, have opened this thread dozens of times.
To add to all of that, is the fact that there is something wrong with the view counter. It's a known issue but is not a priority so I've no idea when it will be fixed. This is not the first time the issue has come up nor will it be the last.

To provide some information for the devs, My device is an Ipad3 running on ios 7.0.4. My device is connected to both FB and GC. I have FB picture but no GC picture(So my in-game pic is my FB pic). My in-game picture used to show up normally until around two weeks ago. It suddenly disappeared for no reason at all.
I have already try(to no avail)...
-Sign out and sign in with FB
-Change FB pic
-Reset the game.
It's good to know it's still being looked into. Not sure if this is useful but every other game that I'm connected to through Facebook is not experiencing this problem. I totally understand that there are higher priority problems but I can only hope, Cricks3, that you can understand how frustrating this is for players. I feel as though you're becoming annoyed with us for wanting to feel as though we are being listened to & that this is being addressed. You spent more time and effort explaining the view counter then you did addressing the problem at hand. If this is going to take forever to fix then maybe they can implement a way for us to upload a picture to Hay Day. That would fix everything.

Adding my name to the list of frustrated players seeing all "gingerbread men." The worst part for me is that I can no longer tell what boats I've already helped and will come back a few hours later and fill a crate on a boat I've already filled a crate on. Or I'll avoid filling a crate because I can't remember if I've already helped, and the default avatars don't tell me anything. By the way, it's not just my FB friends whose avatar doesn't show; it's GC friends as well. I do not think this is a FB issue.
GC frequently goes out and is nothing new. It's at their end and nothing SC can do about it. They have their good days where things are nice and stable and they have their bad days where the GC avatars are out more than in for, sometimes, several days. The FB avatar issue is new and coincides with their new format change so it's not verified yet if it's on their end or SCs, but SC is looking into the issue and trying to find a fix.Quote:

Recently, my friend, who is both my FB and GC friend, said that she saw no photo on my icon in her tray as well as on the crates that I filled even though I have signed in to the FB all this time. She was able to see my profile photo in the past. What can we do to get my photo reappear on her tray/crate? Why can she see my FB name but not my profile photo? Can someone please explain how this whole thing work? Thanks. BTW, I cannot see my avatar on the crates that I filled on people's boats nor can I see my friend's avatar when this happened.
All my icons disappeared in one fowl swoop. All gone, FB friends the lot.
my friends and followers are all still there and I can read their farm names but I cannot see their icons only see a "gingerbread" icon.
I gave it a couple of days to see if they would return but no.
I've tried fiddling with settings/GC/FB but to no avail, and I'm not going to spend hours following complicated instructions when it seems likely to me that it's a glitch that is out of our hands.

Not here to complain, just to add that I am also having this issue.
I'd also like to add that ranting at mods won't help our cause; just saying "help me, or fix it" doesn't help HD figure out how to fix it either. That being said and by no means at all trying to be malicious or condescending, posting the device and OS may help them sort things out.

If this was your kid's school and his locker door stuck, but they were still able to open and close it and use the locker properly, should the custodial staff fix that first rather than the locker in the next hall that won't open at all, or the leaky roof the prevents an entire classroom from being usable, or the clogged toilets on the first floor that is a health hazard, or the broken air conditioner that could close down the entire school if it can't be quickly fixed? SC's priorities may not match what you think they should be, but if they didn't handle the priorities properly as required for 3 games that multiple millions of folks play, you'd have more to worry about than not seeing an avatar on a crate.
Also, just like SC's technical staff, the team of volunteer moderators have a multitude of responsibilities covering 3 forums, several thousands of members, and hundreds of threads daily. I'm afraid we cannot give daily updates to each and every thread as much as we would love to to do just that. We do our best to post when we can and/or when we actually have a status change to give.
I see FB avatar again for a while now: myself, neighbor's, random people from the Daily Dirt....
Also noticed that my FB profile has been switched to the new layout. (not sure it has anything to do with the avatar not showing, I don't connect to FB every day)

Yep, I might stop playing the game if I find the support to inadequate. I might just do that. But as I told earlier, if they are busy with the next revision and things are fixed, that's an answer too. Just be open...

I see your post/advice on many issues which I can appreciate, but you might want to tone down a bit when addressing people who report problems which indicates they are still playing this game that in turn you have something to voluntarily moderate about. Maybe if you or SC just post a broadcast at the very front page that HD had issue displaying avatar & that it is being addressed & to call on people to be patient, I'm sure you won't have this subject on this forum. Just sayin!

& held my breath & cross my fingers as I filled the crate....

Yes, they worked very hard with FB personnel to get something (anything!) to put into this update that would even partially fix the issue. Sadly, it may not help everyone but, hopefully, the majority will have their avatars back.Quote:

my avatar issue is fixed as well. Two farms on separate devices. Picture resolving even seems faster.

Well, it seems I have the same problem.
In the last two weeks, I couldn't see my picture at all.
I tried on my android phone, tried with Blue Stacks and Andy OS.
I've tried with a different facebook account too, same problem.
Is there another fix? Because today hayday updated and my facebook profile picture it's still missing from the game.
