This is probably the main reason why nobody uses em. If they looked more like that hunger games chick guys would fall over themselves to make them.

If Valkyrie is a ranged troop that hits multiple targets (instead of melee with cleave), THEN I'll definitely use her.
When considering cooking time, it makes more sense to compare the cooking time/housing space required than just the cooking on itself.
15 minutes for 8 housing spaces is actually slightly better than 8 minutes for 4 housing spaces (wizards).
So if you consider cooking wizards, you should definitely consider valks because not only is their cookin time slightly better, they're cooked in the dark barracks, speeding up the whole process even more.
This is true but you only get half the barracks to produce a Valkyrie. Also if compared against hogs (a measly 2 minutes for 5 housing space), then Valkyries are way higher. It would be different if the Valkyrie were on the same level as a wizard for sheer power, but they simply are not. Personally I'd prefer they reduce the training time, rather than risk making another OP troop.
haha love the looks thing :D
but on that note i think she's fine..maybe the way she looks in the army camp and while attacking can be buffed up a bit to make her stand out more..as the wiki points out she cant be distinguished in a rush of barbs! not to mention that highly amusing running style she's got which is really laughable :D:D
but ya like everyone has pointed out before the time is the main problem also maybe the housing space..8 seems a bit much to me.. i actually made a thread about the valks and more ideas i got on how they can become hugely popular..check it out if youre interested :)

There is an easy solution to make her better. Reduce train time to 7 or 8 minutes, and increase her swing/splash range to 2 tiles.
I've tried them a few times with various strategies and can't find a slot for them that isn't better used by a wizard or Pekka. I take the point on dealing with CC's though, but I'm lazy and if the wizards aren't close enough to nuke them down I will generally drop a lightning. I don't think I would take a troop just to deal with CC's.
Hopefully, with a bit more tweaking she will earn her spot in my raids. I don't think it's a matter of health or DPS, it's just lacking something fundamental, there's no USP. Maybe they could target something useful like infernos lol or head for the AA. The way she gets stumped by walls and taken down pretty quick is quite a turn off. The housing cost is way high for the benefit she brings in practice, although it probably looks about right on a spread sheet.
I currently have level 2 Valks and it's the last thing that I need to research in my lab. I'm thinking of going for level 3 and beyond, just for completeness and so they are ready for when they are finally fixed.
But with the talk of the new troop coming with the next patch (and the patch could be anytime from 3 days or 3 weeks) I think I'll save my dark elixir reserves so I can try the new arrivals out when they arrive.
