Guide: Dark Elixir Zapping- Mainly for th7 and th8
Hello fellow Clash of Clans players, today, I'm going to be teaching you how to farm DE when you're waiting for your normal de farming army to finish. Although many people hate on this method of farming, it can still speed up your farming process significantly. If you're farming for de, obviously this is mainly what you want to focus on so elixir is not too important as long as you have enough to keep making your army. So this is a good way to speed up this process.
1) Queue as many lightning spells as you can hold.
Ok this guide isn't supposed to be about "regular" de farming, but I figured I need to cover it a little.
2) In the meantime, hit bases using barch to get de. Aim for Gold II - Crystal III depending on your th level. Th7 is more comfortable at gold II and I while th8 works great at gold I and crystal III.
3) Aim for bases with high amount of de in the drills or easily accessible de storage. Resist the temptation to use any lightning spells yet for anything, even CC troops.
4) After your lightning spells are done queuing, wait until between attacks with your regular army and go search for a base.
5) Find a base with almost all of its de in the storage if not all of it because this will be your main target. I like to aim for bases with 2000+ de in it. Much lower and the profit usually won't be worth the wait time.
6) Zoom in on the de storage and aim towards the bottom of it, but still inside the storage.
7) Release all of your lightning spells in that area rapid fire style, using just 3 spells, I can usually net approximately 1000 de using just the lightning if you attack a base with most of the de in the storage.
8) If possible, you can give the defender a shield (by destroying 40% of their village or their th) so they're less likely to revenge you . But if you're a mean person, by all means kill their cc troops, king, queen, destroy traps laying around, and stop at 39% on their village. (Not recommended unless you want a th9 or 10 wrecking your village).
People hate on this type because it is "for the weak" but in reality it can be a nice way to profit in addition to regular de farming. Lets calculate, shall we? Let's say you need to raise 40k de for the lvl 10 barb king. In an hour, a casual th7 or 8 farmer can probably get around say 5k maybe more or less depending on if they have barracks boosted and how skilled they are. This is just an estimate. So normally, it would take this player 8 hours to get the 40k required. Let's also say this player has 3 spell spots, taking a cumulative 1 hour 30 mins to cook all the spells. This means that every 1.5 hours he can get ~1000 extra de that he wouldn't have got without the spells. If he uses the spells every 1.5 hours, after 7.5 hours, that would be an extra 5k de- because it is not reasonable to play 8 hours straight (in my opinion) this extra 5k de a day is an incredible help. If he farmed for 3 hours a day using his regular strategy (and came online for a few seconds every 1.5 hours to zap, he would have a total of 20k de for the day as compared to 15k without the lightning. If he farmed for 3 more hours a day each day (only with barch, no spells) until he got his barb king, it would take him a little less than 3 full days. With lightning though, this task would be complete in 2 days which is nearly an entire day saved from farming.
Let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to hate but the truth is that this method may seem cowardly, but when used in conjunction with regular farming methods, it cuts down on a lot of time :)
Note: I had this on the tactics board, but it didn't really get viewed much so I'm putting it here instead.
