My clan is getting ready to do a push and I would like some advice on army comps to use at the higher trophy levels. I will use barch until it no longer works. My base is maxed except for lvl 1 hogs and minions and level 4 bk. I've also attached a picture of my base. Thanks for any tips.
3 good strategies:
mass dragon with rage and heal spell
mass hog with heal spell
barch(AKA TH sniping)
Notes:
i used th the sniping and got to 2517!
dragon and hog might be hard in the higher crystal leagues so I recommend Barch when you get to crystal 1 and 2

I'm a new TH 7 but have been in Crystal I basically the whole time. If U are pushing then I highly suggest:
Pack at least 2 lightnings for THs that are protected by one mortar but not other splash damages (you can bum rush all other single shot stuff except infernos once you eliminate mortar and check for traps).
BArch with emphasis on Archers because of range- I use about 3:1 or 4:1 archers although my barbs are only lvl 3 and upgrading currently so that personally has me putting more arch in.
Start learning how to recognize traps around TH in upper levels, e.g. teslas and where they may be, giant bombs, spring traps, etc...
Be careful/wary of TH that are behind walls even if U pack WB because the AI of BArch troops sometimes can make it tricky to get them to go in precisely and if they wander they could end up in the area of another splash damage defensive structure.
If you possibly can, only play twice a day for as long as possible and make it so U can have another session about 8-11 hours after that or possibly 14 hours after if U get 3 starred. Make those shields work for you so U can get your IRL stuff done, I like to do once in AM and once at night.
One trick if U have a ton of playing time like a day off or weekend is to play until booted (6 hour limit), then try to get back in after 5 or so minutes and pray no one raided you- it is unlikely no one hits you even after only 5 minutes but if they don't U can get another 6 hour session in without getting attacked! So trophies can pile up...
Also, the times U play try to make it when people may have their TH outside. Many higher league players are going to be more teens age and up so U can kinda think about times that would be good- Like on a weekday evening before bedtime around 11 PM east coast US, or in the mornings east coast US time when high school, college, or even adults getting ready for work may be ready to log off and put their TH outside (say 8 AM or so). etc...
One thing I have found sitting in Crystal instead of pushing is that I don't get revenged nearly as much and I don't lose nearly as many trophies even when revenged compared to when I pushed to Masters for the gems reward sniping. Probably because the more recent days have been in same range vs hitting someone and 3 hours later being 100 trophies higher when they revenge U.
The beauty of being TH 7 in Crystal I is the loot penalty. A vast majority of fellow Crystals are TH 9 and 10 so even if they 3 star my base they don't get a whole lot of loot so sometimes they just take the easy TH snipe that I leave for them. Sometimes I'll leave my DE storage out for them too just to make it convenient and have them weigh in on why they should just take the one star snipe TH and DE vs more costly raid to get small fractions of gold and elix.
Good luck on your push! :D When you first get going, be way more safe than sorry but start taking baby steps more risk with time so U can perfect your snipes on more fortified/trapped TH even when they are outside walls.
PS- if U R ONLY pushing and get into Crystal I or maybe higher Crystal II, forget trying 50% or anything other than lightning for mortars and getting one stars on TH. You are risking wayyy too much IMO trying to get 50% on a high level TH plus have to deploy way too many troops.
I suggest barch, it always works. Just go for the TH and/or the unprotected buildings and look for the base with a lot of unprotected buildings. Works well, got me to 2150ish trophies as a TH9 with lvl 5 barbs and archers
