Why Do You Revenge?

No, you don't understand. It's not about trophies. A decent TH 9/10 can go to master anytime he/she wants without having to demolish TH 6s. It is about them shielding you.

As a TH 6, surely you aware that there are 4 TH levels higher than you, each one of them capable of leveling your village, right ? Whether you snipe them or not, they have chance to revenge you and get +50 trophies if they want. Thing is, the closer their TH level to your own, the more you'll lose (because of loot penalty).

So, if a TH 9/10 destroying you, you'll lose a lot less than if aTH 7/8 doing that. In other word, a TH 9/10 is doing this at no gain of his/her own, simply to shield you from greedy TH 7/8 who would not only rob your trophies but also your loot.

Anyway every time I log off, someone will revenge me and I'll lose tremendous amounts of trophies because I've attacked them at 100-200 trophies before and as a lower level TH than them, they can 3 star me easily. But here's my question as to why?

1. I only TH snip, so basically I only aim for bases where the TH is unguarded or relatively easy to attack. The only reason a person would put their TH out (and we're talking level 9/10 at Crystal 3) is to farm, yes? So I'm really doing you a favour!

2. When they attack me, due of the penalty system, they usually hardly get any loot off me despite my gold/elixer being maximum - I have almost 2 million of each in my storage and they only get 50k each? So obviously I'm not a good base to farm off.

3. They use more troops than is cost effective to revenge me. I don't even own a dark barrack and some of these people have been revenging me with x50 minions and stuff. I've been attacked with 3 rage spells, 3 pekas, 2 dragons and lots of archers in another. And their loot hardly comes up to 50k elixer, without the dark elixer. I mean if they're farming, I'm a terrible base to attack.

I notice I only get these attacks after reaching Crystal 2. When I was TH snipping at Gold to Crystal 1 levels, people hardly ever revenge me. But now I get revenged all the time by people who are still around Crystal 3/Gold 3. And when I check their base, they're still farming because their TH is still out and unguarded. I rather be attacked by someone who's climbing the league so our trophy counts won't be that large a divergence and I won't lose so many trophies at one time. I'm currently losing on average 45 trophies per defence. I don't expect to in any defence at this point, but it's just... really hard to climb back again after being attacked.

So my question to you high levelled players who put your TH out in the first place, why do you revenge us?

Same happened with me, I was sniping for 1250 when I raided a guy and he sent 105 goblins and high level giants to get my 12k gld and 3k elixir along with 44 trophies. Quite a pricey raid

Uhh uhh uhh.. thank you, I suppose? Although a TH 7 did end up raiding me but only got off 2 stars? But you're right he did get a lot more loot of me :P

Perfect example today:
Attacker comes on and is hitting my th with archers. No problem. Then after a minute they decide to get greedy and start shooting collectors with archers. This draws out my AQ at one point and he kills her.
He used 82 archers to get 3500 gold and 3500 elixir.
So not only did he get greedy and make a poor decision, now I'm going to blast his village and he'll lose more. Just take the cups and move on and I would never glanced at him again.

I agree, Gramps. On my last push to Crystal II, I didn't get revenged too much, but I was TH sniping for the most part and leaving resources alone. (the exception is those THs that put high level Teslas near a TH in the corner... it's annoying and makes me go "all in" attacking a base.)

1. You didn't stop after taking town hall.
2. You zapped my de, for this i crush you.
3. I did not like your name, or found your clan name offensive.
4. I was in a cranky mood and no one else was handy to be mean to.
5. I was bored.
6. You sniped my TH and when i checked your base you had full storages, or nearly so.

If i understand this game, you invite me to revenge you when you come into my village. I leave my town hall out to tempt you, and hope a lower level player will snipe my town hall and give me a shield for 12 hours protecting me from high level attacks. In truth i usually dont revenge the well behaved snipers because its a waste of elixer. But i am happy to spend it on zappers even at a loss.

Yesterday, i was searching villages to farm and saw a village with TH exposes... though, i was going to help him/her get a shield ( I didn't even need the trophies)... so i put 1-3 archers to see.. as expected 4 teslas poped up..so i put few more archers.. surprisingly, the TH was surrounded by all the traps he/she had, in addition there were 5 lvl 5 balloons came out from CC :). So, i decided to zap his DE, killed his BK... as for the balloons, 3:) they are useless against my minions... and the TH and telsas is a silly trap, took me 2 sec to destroy it with barbarian and BK's iron fist.

Had a good laugh and love seeing silly trap of TH & teslas (what a waste!)

It's fun and sometimes gives alot of trophies

I attack people that snipe me when i'm farming.

I don't care if my troop cost alot. I got SO MANY elixir.

Snipe me. You'll learn a lesson.
