Agreed OP that is true, when i created my name - I had no idea what I got myself into..
Maybe make a feature.. Which allows you to change your IGN every 12 months or so.
You could have your old name in brackets

Look SC, it's pretty obvious we have a unanimous view on this subject, at least among the people who put in enough effort to reply to this post. The people who voted against the motion maybe haven't thought it through the we have.

Believe it or not SC, we do understand your concerns about problems that may arise from allowing people to change their IGNs, but as noted above, their are plenty of viable solutions proposed. Please at least give us an answer on this SOON.
What if, once you upgraded to let's say TH 7, you got an alert. "You've been playing for a while now and you can change your name if you want. This will be the only time you may change it, so choose wisely"
so if you play for a few months and get to TH 7 and you want to change your name you can. But you only have this one opportunity to change it. I think that could be a better solution.
