I applaud your positive attitude, but I am afraid this really is impossible.
If you are prepared to attack then you can make it. I know many TH8s that have sniped to Masters.
GL buddy.
I think it would be possible but very hard and you would have to be very smart when you build your base. Also if you want to get to masters just make a decent base and use all archers and attack bases with the th outside there base. Then destroy the Th and end the attack. You can attack a lot and it will get u a decent amount of trophies.;)
Hi everyone,
I made a thread about this --> http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...43#post1595243
Check it out!
Maybe it was easier last time to get to masters with defense only before infernos came out and it seems very highly unlikely to get wins up at crystal 2 or 1 with a town hall 8 base regardless of designs! Even if you have a maxed base, the only way that I found out that can help win up there will be the clan castle and the donation that your clan made for you! That seems to be the only way! Hope this helps haha
I doubt it could be done without some very unusual circumstances.
BUT let's see how to try....
Buy tons of gems. OK next max your DE storages and drills.
Next, fill your DE storage all the way using gems and put your maxed DE drills into boost mode. Set them out in the wide open corner along with your maxed gold and elix storages.
Don't forget to gem your gold and elixir storages to max too and put your collectors/mines out there too. Boost them as well. Make it one big fat piece of cake no one would refuse.
Now, make sure you only have about 35% of buildings in that cluster so they don't just drop a few more troops on you to get a win after looting you for everything you have (other than TH).
Throw all your defenses behind all those maxed wall segments you will now have and your TH in core.
I highly doubt it has been done any time recently without some weird stuff like mass gemming for bait going on but never say never. :)
Good luck :p. :D
TBH it is impossible. My clan just had a push a few weeks ago. Me and another clanmate, which also had TH8 pushed to master. TH 8 base dont stand a chance against TH9 and TH10, even TH8 can three or at least two star a TH8 base even with lvl 8 walls and max troops.
If you win on defence from 2450++ it is not because of your base, it is because the attacker failed big time. From 2450+ we all pushed our TH to the outside hoping some TH snipe would take it down and give free shield, but no.
You can get lucky on defence once or twice, but not 10, 15, 20 times in a row.
Only its possible if you put your storages outside in different parts of the base and backed up by your defense buildings.
Make a crazy good defense base, and put ALL FULL loot on outside and hope for a revenge
The OP mentions only defense so revenge would not be allowed nor would any form of attacking.
HOWEVER I do have an idea how it MIGHT be done...
Push your TH 8 way up as high as you can go.
Then never attack with the account/base again and pray the base drops in the queue fast enough to not show up in searches anymore and your trophy count still be high enough to stay in Masters III.
Of course that isn't really legit but it probably has a better chance of success than a defense produced in the spirit of the OP's idea of winning on defense to get to Masters.
With the current system I really doubt a pure defensive TH 8 base can hang consistently in Masters given the likelihood of TH 9s/10s looking for easy trophies up there.
Come to think of it, I doubt many TH 9 could either (or even 10 unless they drop out of queues). Just about everyone up there uses offense as a major part of their cumulative trophy counts and enough people able to attack well enough with say maxed miniball/Loonions to at least 1 star maxed TH 10 bases.
Good luck though on the experiment. If nothing else maybe it'll lead to another solid TH 8 base design. :D
