TH8 to get to masters ONLY with defense?

Hey clashers,
I'm currently pushing with my clan. I was thinking, would it be possible to get to Master League ONLY or nearly ONLY with defense? If so, which base should i use?

I dare say that it is impossible at TH8. You are missing 2 critical defenses, the x-bow and inferno tower.

You're right, but I hear it is possible...

I've seen many people push to masters with the tempest base but none only by defense.

Each time I see a TH9 in master, it's YEAH for me

Each time I see a TH8 in master, it's 100% and double YEAH for me

I don't see how your base can survive a full out TH10 attack. 2 freeze, 3 max golem.

My base got 71% destroyed by a full GoWiWi and I have 3 level 3 xbows and 2 infernos.

Some months ago a guy named rhym... something tried this feat... and documented his base ideas in a thread somewhere here. Anyhow, his ideas went along the line that the best bet is to have a weak looking base that is actually strong to attract bad attacks. I am not totally aware how often a TH8 gets attacked in crystal, but still would give this close to zero chances to actually succeed. Normally, it does not matter what kind of a base a TH8 has, he/she will be crushed.

Yeah, i read that thread. Was going to use that base, but then i found the Nexus Core (Credits to Orz), which works fine.

I would try it. It should be fun. :)

i'm testing so many bases lol.

I have one clan mate who tried so. He was a level 89 TH 8 with maxed base. The highest he got was crystal 2. Higher, no defensive win anymore.

Not saying it's impossible, but you'll need a lot of luck. In the end, it'll be your offensive wins that contribute the most.
