TH9 answer to the hogs "The Freeze tower"

Firstly, I'm not great with names or figures for what would or wouldn't work, I'd just like to propose an idea and if the community like it build on it.

As everyone knows the main problem as a TH9 is mass hog attacks (yes you can "anti-hog" your base however it leaves you open to other attacks)

My proposal:

Freeze Tower (feel free to add a more immaginative name here)

Works very similar to the inferno tower can be set to single or multipul targets
Does not damage any unit it hits it simply slows them down was thinking level 1 25% speed reduction but that isn't my forte

However there is a twist!!

If a Freeze tower and an inferno tower hit the same target at the same time they cancel each other out, so no damage no speed reduction.

Thought that would be a decent twist to make you have to really think where to position these towers and to prevent it being over powered slowing all units down for your inferno to cook them up.


Any thoughts? Feel free to tell me it's a stupid idea or suggest any improvements.

LOVE IT!!!! i also really like the fact that if it and the inferno tower hit a target it cancels out, i love strategy. Maybe 25% for max lvl if the building is unlocked at lvl 9. I couldnt imagine anything going over 25% slower than normal, exept for minions and goblins.The question is, is it multitarget???

I think it is a great idea, especially if you are a th9 pushing to masters, you get toasted by those max level hogs, it is impossble to defend against them

Maybe call it the freeze ray? How about you change the stats to frozen completely for 0.5 seconds and then after that, 5% speed decrease. Frozen time can go up by 0.1 sec every level and speed decrease goes up by 5% every level and have 5 levels.

And the achievement for killing these Ice towers should be called ice ice baby

I like it! But people have complained there are too many "towers." Maybe you could name it Ice Terrace or something like that?

People complaining are either noob TH9, in which case you can be beat by anything, or haven't set up your bases properly for fighting hogs. Have you considered what adding a freeze tower or trap would do for TH10? The multi-target infernos are already automatic win unless placed on the same spot or on the edge or facing a ranked TH10 with 20 extra troops and 5 spells.

Short version - stop sucking and you won't lose. Hogs are already weakened enough.

I though of this idea everything was the same but it was my idea and I don't need credit for posting.

He's got a point, once u reach TH lvl. 10 these wouldn't be necessary and they would make 10 way too OP. The idea sounds really great until that factor is considered, but it seems pretty foolish now.

I like it. However, I don't think these towers should cancel each other out. Also, you didn't mention what it would be loaded with. X-bows take elixer; Inferno towers taker dark elixer; Freeze tower takes-gold? Just a quick question. Very good idea!

I am confused, have they EVER added a new building to an existing town hall?
I don't believe so.

Why would they start now.

Attack SHOULD beat defense, that's just the way it needs to be. You can't make a base that defeats all possible attacks that would be stupid.

I was thinking a freeze tower or freeze terrace or whatever could be added to an all new ice themed town hall 11. Ideas?

You are correct but if you set the base up anti hog it becomes so easy for other units, surely you'd know this with the experience your original post suggests?

I don't think many would disagree that offence is so much stronger than defence, this is to try add some more balance.

I used a good antihog base my last weeks of TH9, between 1600-2600. Yep, gowiwi and gowipe will destroy your base, but it's not like it wouldn't do that even if you weren't using an antihog layout. Balloonions were not very successful either, Nor were most giant-based armies. I rarely got 2-starred and didn't lose much resources, so I don't see what you're getting at here. Not a very valid argument, unless you use a crappy antihog layout and have underlevelled defenses - in which case your layout is moot anyway.

I think it's clear that I think the addition of a tower like this would be pointless, but hey, it'd make my current base even stronger..

this is requested a lot as a new defensive building. you definitely go to a bit more detail as most people don't bother with stats or anything. seems good. speed reduction isn't too bad.

Have to agree with this, TH9 can defend against hogs and maintain a reasonable defense against other threats.

Could you imagine attacking a TH10 with this Freeze Tower AND Inferno Towers? Would be an absolute nightmare.

Adding a new defense to TH9 would imbalance the game far too much.

A freeze like tower could possibly be the 'new' building when TH11 eventually arrives. But forget it for TH9, even TH10 for that matter.

Not really. Internal giant bombs next to wiz towers and other overlapping defenses work well vs giant stacks, and TH9 has plenty of air defense. Centered CC helps as well. I wasn't 3-starred by -anything- in my last month of TH9, and that includes at trophy levels up to 2500. No, I wasn't fully matrixed, and top level players could probably beat my base with golem pekka wiz bk aq and a big wad of spells, but it's stupid to build only for conventional ground and then whine when hogs beat you. It would be like putting all your air d on the edge of your base and complaining about balloons.

This thread started off with mass hog attacks for TH 9 so why would you bring up inferno towers for TH 10?..I mean essentially the player isn't even there it. I don't think a freeze tower is needed anyway. I don't really think that hog riders were nerfed enough tbh. Their movement speed coupled with their ability to ignore your walls makes them TOO fast. My TH9 base was attacked by 38 lvl5 hogs with 3 heal spells and 1 lightning and I was 3 starred in 1 minute and 20 seconds. That just seems unreal to me that a player can destroy ur base in under half the 3 minute total time you have to attack someone.

wait...inferno towers and your freeze tower cancel each other out...that would just screw the defense for th 10 completely.

I love the idea but I have to agree with TJPride on this one, a well designed TH9 can be very much anti-hog especially with Giant Bombs.

Awesome idea though, maybe for TH10? But TH10 is already overpowered :rolleyes:

Funny how players want something on defence to stop/slow the attacker. If this gets incorporated, we'll have players wanting a new stronger troop to attack the defence. It's endless.

If this continues for years to come, we'd be deploying troops on the sidelines, more time is recquired to attack bases, longer training times on barracks now that our camps can hold 400 troops, CC will now hold 50 troops which means longer waiting periods for donating and recieving. Imagine the cost of upgrading stuff....lol!

i definitely like the idea behind it...could do with a few tweaks but the mechanism of slowing down an enemy rather than dealing damage is interesting...just one thing tho wont the already slow moving troops become even more agonisingly slow?? think giants and pekkas...and if air troops can also be affected then the drags and balloons? wow they might as well not have been there! needs some thinking hmm:confused:

How about in Single-Target mode it progressively slows down until it starts freezing and taking a little of damage.

I personally think it should be called the Cyro-Blaster!

There are some people suggesting the creation of light elixir, the counterpart of dark elixir, so, if that goes through, perhaps the freeze tower would be made of that. Of course, I know nothing, so feel free to contradict me.:)

Good Idea. It could be added. Maybe have it in the form of a trap. Called the freeze trap, snare, or caltrop (a caltrop would kill the hog).

+1 for the idea.
