In my opinion anti-hog bases look weak for farming. I don't have much experience with them. To me, it seems like you need a couple hogs/giant/balloons to clear out some defenses, and then the resources are wide open. Am I wrong about them? If you've had success or failure with them, It would be helpful to talk about it.

I know. I was saying that it seems to me like thats what would happen; I was wondering if it's true or not.
There're many styles of antihog, the one you're talking about is pretty much the vault type. (even then there're the inner ring vault and the middle ring vault type).
The inner ring vault (resources all in the middle of the base) can be broken through with a bunch of wall breakers, but the chance of your troops to get inside the innering is hard, especially giant/hogs, since they will go around the base most of the time (unless you know how to attack with hogs, then you can guide them to the center of the base). THe innering is rigged with splash defense, supposedly your goblins/barb/archers can get through the outer rings, the splash defense will simply kill them off. This is even more devastated with infernos in the middle. But once you successfully clear the core, you're up for a treat. It's all or nothing. Less and less people use this type of design.
The middle ring vault (resources placed in the middle of inner ring and outer ring) can be stolen. However, it's much harder to steal them all because of the fact that the storages are much further from eachother, and your troops have to work their way a full circle. During the time they do that splash damage, xbow and inferno will snipe them off. You can easily get 50% of the resources, but 100% of them is way harder unless you can destroy the core and the majority of other defenses. The majority of farmer in crystal-master will use this design, and a large number at master-champ as well.
Then we have the outer ring (kind of design that spread out resources in different compartments, 4 or 8, at 4 sides of the base), this one is kinda like the middle vault, except the fact that the resources are spread out even more. Balloonion is a good army to deal with this kind of base (if you know what you're doing), by 50% and steal the majority of resources in the process. A large number of farmer in master I use this design.
There're also many other variation where people integrate antihog with segregated design.
All of them are designed with the purpose of guiding giant/hogs/golem around the base instead of getting to the core. Some of them may even guide other types of troops around the base. And most of them have their clan castle unlurable, this alone will ruin any unskill hog attack.
That is in theory, however, you must consider the fact that no base is unbeatable. In the hands of a skilled player, even a toughest antihog base can be torn apart. Get to champ then you'll know what i mean.
