What should I gem?

I plan in buying 14000 gems or $100 worth of gems in the next hour. I just want advice from players more experienced than me on what I should gem. I'm going to buy my 5th builders hut, also I don't plan on gemming to fill my storages (I can make more by just gemming troops and farming). So I need your expert advice guys what should I gem and what I shouldn't gem!!! Need an answer ASAP

Also what do you think is the best range for me to be Farming at ??? If you could suggest any farming compositions other than Barch that would be great!!

to gem: troop upgrades, money for walls, upgrades more than 3 days, dark elixir for king and queen, lots of fun troops for attacks, all offensive equipment fully maxed for your townhall (barracks army camps)
not to get: upgrades less than 3 days, mines, storages (unless you need to for upgrading something better)

Bar-none, the best usage of gems has always been boosting barracks to produce more troops to use on raids.

It's more bang for your buck and it's more fun.

The longer it takes to upgrade something, the more gems you are saving when you gem it. I recommend using the gems to gem the Teslas once they start taking 10-14 days, because they are a real pain and it'll save you lots of time if you gem it. Also you can boost barracks and spell factory when farming if you want to.

Don't gem DE for heros because resources are really expensive. I recommend maxing your dark elixir drill ASAP because the DE adds up.

I recommend using BAM strategy once you have a level 3 DE drill. BAM is great because it is really time efficient; 6 barracks instead of 4. Just have at least 5,000 DE in storage before you start BAM and you should be able to maintain your DE. Personally, I BAM in 1200-1400, which is really low for a TH 8, but it works for me.

Get your mortars done ASAP, then move onto you Wiz towers.. Seeing you are a lvl 65 I don't think you getting attacked much by air so the AD and Arch towers can wait. Splash def is key to keeping those resources you fought so hard to get safe. Good luck.

I agree maxing splash is important, because a level 6 mortar can one short a level 6 archer. However, when it comes to gemming, I think he can save a lot of money and time if he gems the long tesla upgrades. The mortars and wizards don't take as long as two weeks! :eek:

gemming resources is very expensive and is probably not worth it, however i think it is for DE.

I'd say it's better to just gem your troops instantly instead of boosting. The benefits of having them immediately outnumber those of simply waiting less. Also, I would get that last builder. As I'm only TH7 right now, I can't really tell you what defenses to upgrade, but your gems are well used in speeding up any defenses you may have left.

Indeed a 2 week upgrade time is brutal (I'm going through it now lol) but the only prob I see in using it on the teslas is that there are four of them. That's almost 8000 gems just to finish the build times for 4 max lvl teslas. Just my two cents.

Hi Styna,
Gemming troops instantly dramatically increases the cost of gem usage. If a barrack takes 30 minutes to train, it would cost 10 gems to instantly finish the troops, and then times that by 4 and it's 40 gems for 1 raid only. However, Boosting allows for multiple raids for 40 gems and the troops train while raiding, so when you come out of a raid, the troops are almost done training.

Indeed, it is very brutal, which is exactly why he should invest most of his gems into it! This way it can save him from future suffering.http://forum.supercell.net/images/smilies/biggrin.png Even if it's 8000 gems, he is saving money because the upgrade times are so long.

Teslas are so important for TH 9, so maxing them at TH 8 is crucial. Plus, at town hall 8 they are really strong as well, you can catch your enemies off guard with your level 6 teslas! http://forum.supercell.net/images/smilies/biggrin.png

@OP, if you decide to gem teslas, it still may take awhile as you have to farm the gold to upgrade them, and in the beginning the tesla upgrade times are also short. However, I think once they are taking 10 days, it will be very worth it. Most people don't max teslas before going to TH 9, so you can be special!
