I'm a mid th9 with 4 builders who are almost never idle (maxed xbows/mortars/CC/most troop upgrades, half maxed on cannons/WT/tesla, one level to go on each AD and AT). Mix of lvl7 and 8 walls, AQ10, BK11. I don't plan on spending money for gems, so somewhere near the beginning of th10 I will hit Masters and finally have enough gems to buy 5th builder through achievements. At that point, is it worth it? Or should I just save gems to boost barracks when I try to make a cup run?
It is going to make me so mad if people who have never bought gems complain about 30 second ads after every battle. If SuperCell is not making money off gems, they will rely on ads to make money.
Yeah 5th builder is a waste at TH10 if u ask me. If you max all buildings at TH9 before you make the jump, all TH10 building upgrades will be +10days. I rarely have all 5 builders active. Just use the gems on boosts and stuff.
It could be worth pushing to Masters whilst in TH9 to grab the gems. Then use them to boost to max it more - as you will have better and easier farming before upgrading to 10.
Once you hit 10 you will find the farming range has shifted upwards as you can't get good loot off TH8 anymore. For me that meant farming 2200-2500 looking for TH9's and weak Th10's with bad inferno placement.
Hence the 5th builder will not be employed as much, especially as you get to the thin end of the wedge with your upgrades everything gets expensive.
My base is TH10 and I rarely have more than 2-3 builders working at a time now. This is half because I like to keep my defences up and and half because gold is harder to come by. When I get excess gold whilst 2 builders are busy I tend to upgrade my walls from 8 to 9.
In my experience I was swimming in gold at TH7 & 8, a bit more balanced at TH9 and TH10 was hard going until I realised it was more about getting dark elixir and making small profits on gold and elixir and changed my range accordingly. So if your experience mirrors mine just be ready for how the game will change at TH10 by doing what upgrades you can at 9. Eventually the call of the infernos will suck you in though, it did me :cool:
It could be you've missed the point where you would have got the max benefit from the 5th builder by not grabbing it at TH8?
