When you start aiming for trophies u run into a brick wall at some point. That point is determined by how advanced your defensive and offensive upgrades are. It maybe 1250 or some other point. That is what i mean with that this game is basically about resources and upgrades.

Ok, i understand but i started doubting it when i got attacked 8 times in a row by someone stronger.
meanwhile i am number 1 in my clan. not that im so good but everyone is ditching trophies to save resources. This game is going upside down :)

The current matchmaking system based only on trophies is seriously flawed and therefore highly unfair. It does not take into account the strengths of villages, attacking troops etc. As result it is frequently setting up appalling mismatches.

It also does not take into account the hundreds of dollars wealthier people are spending on gems to build up their villages and attack capabilities quickly. This is invariably to the detriment of weaker villages.

Oddly enough I have found that leaving full storages available, seems to tempt weaker players who would normally click on next, to take a punt for the 180k each of elixir and gold - I guess it's down to luck as far as who sees your village first.
