Can you win defence at TH8+ without the use of CC?

Or will I be severly penalized for not using it? Will attackers always win? Will my defence still stand up to raids without the almighty CC? You see I'm in a clan with real life friends and well they started just about a week ago so I'm around level 60 and the other 6 are levels 10-24 and then we have another 25 or so players ranging from levels 15-30. Since we're a relatively new clan I can't keep requesting for specific troops as I feel it is unfair on the low levels, so I usually go with the generic 'anything please' and get donated wall breakers, goblins and ocassionally level 1-2 archers. Not that I'm not appreciative of what I receive. I just want to know if a TH8+ base can hold it's own without the CC? Don't say things like 'leave the clan', because I won't do that. I sit around 1300-1400 trophies if that helps answer the question. Funny thing is someone's gonna raid me and test my CC for troops to see wall breakers come out haha!

Why don't you just request barbs or archers..? And perhaps try a farming base (I'm using one around 2200 cups so you can get quite high if you're active). Most raids on me are 1k/1k even though available loot is like 350k/200k!

Move your CC outside so you could use that space for a better building (as your CC is completely useless since you get Wall Breakers and very low leveled things). I have seen a Level 100 without his CC even built! It is clearly possible but I have no first-hand experience so don't ask me lol.

Thanks guys, I guess rather then think too much into it as there isn't much I can do, I'll just try to sit with less resources for the majority of the time. It's just I'm so used to wizards being deployed from my CC that usually pwn most attackers as ridiculous as it sounds well at least at my trophy range. Time to see if the ol' girl can handle the heat without the CC.

Yeah i do it all the time since everyone in my clan is 20+ levels behind me except for one guy whos 15 levels behind.

It will REALLY help but it's not vital.
