It works great! I once got attacked by a full blown TH 9 army with three witches and the only got 1,000 of my gold! No DE and 91,000 was stolen (obviously no one cares about elixir though). :cool:

Thanks for the advice! I have also been TH 8 for around a year and I'm so excited to finally upgrade!

May mess with it tonight and see might swap out TH for CC and see how it goes. My setup now all my stuff so close together and my elixer is out on the first layer of walls. Archers destroy them all quick.

You have near maxed elixir in that pic, I say go for it and get the level 6 archers, AQ, new heal spells, and more.
Edit: If someone said no, this was most likely their argument: "You will be a premie TH9 and lose defense" or "The loot penalty is bad here"
There are also, some very viable counter-arguments.
1. TH8 always lose defense to TH9, will not be any different besides they get 10% more easy enough to cover on attack. If you have a snipe, people will go for that instead.
2. There are always good collector bases. People leave for the weekend a lot. Just because you are TH9 does not mean everyone will magically come back on and lose collector loot. I also bet most of your loot is TH8+ anyways.

Boy, will that change once you get your TH to lvl 9 ;-)

I pressed the TH 9 button short time ago, got my lab and am three days away from completing my first troop upgrade.
It's tough at first, but only until you've found your farming range.
I recommend getting ready though before you do make the move, see 'Last things for TH8'.

Can't seem to git it correct with the town hall in there. A lot of gaps open. Gonna keep messing with it thou.

you should upgrade ASAP... do not delay anymore because it's waste of time

first, you're farming on 1600+... the will be no differ in loot there because you rarely see rich TH7 in this area...
people that said about loot penalty is people farming in 1000/1200+ area

get AQ and max camps asap... you will able to farm more people in this area and farm much faster than before,

people that say it will be easier to build walls on TH8 is because you will have no construction left, so you can 100% spend your gold into walls... not because you will get less loot on TH9.

if you're not doing any def on your first th9 month, not building xbow, etc... indeed you will build walls faster with help of AQ and 10% more space...
but normally, your walls will be slowed down because you will have new xbows, wt, ad, at and tesla to upgrade.

2x xbows alone cost 12 skull walls, 3x lv.7 mortar cost around 20 skull walls, 4x lv.7 WT cost around 40 skull walls.
If you're not upgrading them, then you will got 72 skull walls... but I think those def turrets worth much more than walls. :p
