Farming at TH9 - Tips needed on efficient army comp and strategy

Hey folks!

I'm at TH9, everything is maxed out except walls, and heroes.

I have been using hog riders for quite some time, which I'm effective with, 8/10 times I three-star. However, they are quite expensive to use. I usually have to gem the DE boosters to be able to constantly use them, and gem the spell factory for Heal Spells otherwise it would take up to 2 hours.

So in all I'm looking for an army composition that is quick to brew up and that preferably doesn't use much DE if any. Regular elixir itself is no problem at all.

I have been seeing many strategies such as BAM, Barchers, mix of giants/barbs/archers/gob/wb's..etc.

My question is what is the most effective compositions to use and how do you use them.
I plan on mass farming until I get lvl 9 walls so it would be great to find something different then hogs to save money from gems and time.

approximately 10-14 giants, 60ish barbarians and 80ish archers. 6-10 wallbreakers.
1 Jump 1 heal 2 rage spells. Use as necessary

This allows you to storage raid alot of TH8's and TH9s without decent defense and get to their storages.

learn to use WBers and rage correctly to one shot walls and you are on your way to being a th9 farming champ.

Strategy in steps and it works VERY well:

idea is you have giants tank, use wbers and rage to one shot walls to core and have barbs/archer and heros rush into the core and quickly kill splash and they take all their money.

1. Lure cc and heros kill them wihtout much unit loss. 10 barbs 10 archers.

2. kill outlying buildings around the side that you choose to assault.
use 20-30 barbs and 30-40 archers to make sure you have one side completely clean of buildings so that units will naturally go to th emiddle.

3. drop giants on side where you want o assaul and drop wbers. MAKE SURE WBERS DONT DIE TO MORTAR FIRE.

4. Drop rage spell on wbers and giants and and this point drop the rest of yoru 30ish barbs and 40ish archers plsu heros to rush into the middle through the rage spell and ♥♥♥♥ everything.

Thats how you farm at th9.

My farming army comp for 200 space is: 4 giants to take the defensive fire, 15 WBs to make sure you hit the DE (and gold and elixir) storage(s), and 150 gobs to make sure you snatch up as many resources as possible.

Hello!! Id say BARCH is your best bet, hogs are WAAAAAY too expensive for farming de, even bam can be pricey!!

Simple, stack 2 barracks each of barbs and archers and ask for wallbreakers in your CC if your having a tough time getting into the base for those storages. ive found 1550-1600 be the sweet spot recently. hope it helps!!

Personally I'm a Barch man. Its cheap and takes very little time to create.

I would try and stay away from a composition that requires the use of spells as they are just a drain on your time and your elix. If you do decide to use spells then learn to restrict yourself to say 2 at a time. I used 24 hogs and the rest a split mixture of archies and barbras and only used 2 heal spells max each raid and that meant I could raid every 30 mins or so.

I prefer Bam. It is quick to train, cheap and very efficient.

It depends on your playing style. If you want to raid as often as possible, then BAM should be your first choice. Barch is ok, but not as versatile.

And if you only log in once in a while to raid, then you shoud try baloonion. Provided you have lvl6 baloon.

Giant armies work too.

Regular elix is no problem to me I got endless supplies and all my troops are maxed.

What I want is something thats quick to train and effective.


As Barchers doesn't require any DE, I'd find it a bit more desirable as an army comp.
But what is the strategy, is it something mostly effective on collector bases, is it effective at all on storage bases?

this is like what I'm doing to get 10 million / day raping rich decent TH8 and easy TH9 :p
the difference now is I'm not using giants ATM, but I use more barbs + heal spells...
but I this is exactly what I will use after my Giants lv.6 comes out from my labs.

I've seen these attack many times when I'm TH8... I get robbed until all my storage dried, destroyed completely like a total noobs by this type of attack... lol...

barch too can also do storage raids but you need both heros up with wbers. to have a chance at getting to the core. The strategy is the same as without giants but it has a higher chance of failure. if you have giants with both heros and you rage your wbers correctly, you can conduct any storage raid on th8 at least, with ease.

th9s best farming unit is by far the is lvl6 giants being unleashed on th8s. it absolutely demolishes th8s. if they are level 5 and you have lvl 6 barb/archers then just use those as lvl5 giants suck.

You have to consider build time vs success rate at getting those raids done correctly.

pure barch (100 barbs 120 archers) for 220 supply is like 21 minutes
barch+8-10 wbers (80 barb 120 archer 10 wbers) (superior farming comp to pure barch) 24mins build time
barch +wbers+giants (60 barbs 80 archers 12 giants 10 wbers) 26 mins build time.

barch has best build time but has hard time getting through walls. by investing 3 more minutes (14% more build time) you seriously increase the types of bases you can attack and success rate.

if you add wbers and giants for a 20% increase in build time, you will further increase your success rate, types of storage bases you can successfully raid etc. but once again you must have lvl 6 giants.

in addition, add spells and depending on what spells you have available for that raid, you futher increase your chances of winning the raid.

its all what you want to do. Id rather spend 20% more build time to be able to attack 3x more bases, save money on failed attacks and pressing the next button.
