Hog-strategy above 2800 cups: suggestions?

I'm currently at 3000 cups on my first run at champion league. Balloonion had gotten me to 2900 steadily, but I'm running out of elixer. I started with too little lix. Disregarding that rookie mistake (though it was sheer laziness), I've tried my hands at hogging. Been doing fairly well, but there have been 2 losses and a couple of very close calls.

I attack bases with 1 or 2 IT on single mode. I lure CC and heroes with 2 giants. I attack one side (with single mode IT) with two hog groups so I get as many defences down as possible. Then I mop up with archers, wiz and heroes. In some lucky cases, you can take out the TH with your Queen as well. I use 30 hogs, 4 heals and 1 lightning. My main problem is that the mop-up crew is sometimes almost all spent on taking out royals and CC.

Anyone has a good strategy for this?

I would write a better guide if I had the time so maybe in around a week. Now to answer the OP's question. Try bringing a rage or a freeze spell to allow access to a wider variety of bases. If I were you I would bring only 32-34 Hogs as those guys take a while to train, take up loads of space, and use loads of DE. You can drop the Giants and lure CC troops with one or two Hog Riders anyways. The way I take care of CC troops would be bringing them to the corner (you should know this by now but just clarifying) then dropping about 10 barbs, 10 archers and just two wizards behind. Clearly if your opponent has Level 30+ heroes you would have to use your own CC or try using more wizards. Another suggestion would be to bring witches in your CC to take out the heroes with minimal effort on your part. The third way you could manage would be to bring a Dragon and distract the heroes with a flow of barbs and archers. Try dropping hogs in one row unless you are facing an anti-hog base in which case you should drop them in a line like you would do with balloons. If you decide to bring a freeze spell (as you are TH10) you can freeze the disco tower and meanwhile heal up your hogs back to full health to save a big pack from dying. Hogs can get you really high and my next push I plan on hitting 3000 trophies at TH9 with hogs and then maybe switching to loons to grab the last 200 for champ. I probably won't make it but a boy can dream right? I hope this helped you out and there are many videos on YouTube if you wish to further your knowledge.
