Just do it....Or wait? Question regarding TH9 Upgrade

Hey,

I'm a TH8 who is hovering around the 1750-1800 trophy region, where the loot isn't even half bad.

I have literally maxed out every single building and troop in this TH level, with the exception of:
- 2 Barracks (Still lvl 9, but I don't really mind or care for that matter)
- 3 Hidden Teslas (Only level 5, one of which is being upgraded to 6 as I type this)
- Around 150 walls (level 7, dark purple, the rest are already level 8, skeleton)
- Barb King (level 7, max level of TH8 is level 10)

I've been stuck at this point for little over a month now, whereby I'd just be upgrading the teslas, dark barracks and walls. It's getting pretty boring and it's gotten to the point that whenever I save up to 2m gold, a lvl 120+ comes along and takes 250-400k of all my resources. I'm so, so sick of this. Even with a farming layout, they still 100% me and I'm thinking with a couple of xbows and an archer queen things will look up.

Addressing all you TH9+ clashers, do you believe I shlould make the upgrade to TH9 or should I make the final push to completely max this out?

Also, how is the loot looking at TH9?

Upgrade ur TH for sure

Do not save up 2 million gold.

Forgot about the upgrades leftover, as soon as you hit 500k gold, use it straight away on the walls. I highly recommend doing the walls right now, your going to regret it if you do not.

Once all your walls are max out, then you can upgrade. Wall is the most important factor, if you have all black walls, high level farmers will skip your base straight away.

If you're having an issue saving up 2m gold, why would TH9 make that any better? Upgrades cost more than that so you'll be in the same situation.

From your post, I'd say finish the teslas and then go to TH9, the rest isn't that important but definitely try to do more walls while you upgrade. The only reason I feel that you should do the upgrade is because you'll get the AQ. For that reason you may even want to max your BK since you'll be putting most of your DE into the AQ. Plus Lvl2 ability will be nice.

I wouldn't go to th9 yet. I've been at th9 for 3 months. The farming truly sucks most of the time and upgrading your walls at th9 is a MASSIVE undertaking.

At the very least I would get your teslas to 6. They are your best defense at th8 and will help you at th9. Even with AQ and lvl 1 Xbows you are still going to get rolled by those lvl 120s so why take on the additional loot penalty. At th8 you can raid ths 7-10, once you get to th9 because of the loot penalty you can no longer raid th7 efficiently so you are limiting the amount of bases you can farm by a significant amount.

By upgrading and building a new storage, you're just giving attackers another target for your resource and reducing their loot penalty by decreasing the TH difference. Maybe drop to 1500-1600 trophies while farming gold and raise to about 1800-2000 to farm DE.

you are farming in the wrong places if you think TH9 farming sucks.

i've gained 40 million GG just this past week

Upgrading to TH9 won't help you gather then 3M your need for your teslas.

You should upgrade your teslas before upgrading your TH. 3M is not that hard. Just get to 1.5M then try to gather 1.5M in a single session without logging out.

Don't listen to people saying to burn your gold into wall. You'll never upgrade your teslas that way.

If you have to ask, don't upgrade. You have to be entirely confident that you're ready to upgrade without needing other people to confirm your decision. That said, you should definitely upgrade your teslas, and I think you're overestimating how good th 9 defenses are. I don't consider myself an "elite" farmer, nor do I have a particularly heavy-duty army, but as a th 10, I can get 3/4 gold storages from most th 9s (especially the new ones), and all 4 from a few. It's your decision, but don't expect defending at th 9 to be a walk in the park.

Max out completely. Upgrading your Town Hall won't improve your progress too well. I am TH9 right now and doing walls SUCKS. I actually rushed a bit to TH9 without completing my Hidden Teslas or walls. Even though I have just finished maxing out all my teslas I highly regret skipping them at TH8. The loot at TH9 is OK but I wouldn't upgrade until 100% max. Hope this helped ^.^

yea. i agree.

Lower your trophy? I'm new TH8 and my builders are all busy, I'm sitting with 4m+ resources each, and got only TH snipe for the last 2 days. :)

Do the teslas then go to th9, loots fine at th9. I've maxed all of th9 in about 3 months quite easily bar the walls and im off to th10 now. People who say th9 sucks are rubbish at the game.

You have to upgrade your th eventually, why wait when you can do it now, also the dreaded loot penalty isn't bad at all.
you still have those juicy th8 maxers when you upgrade so don't worry, good luck mate

Hmmm, I don't think this is true. A TH8 with L8 walls doesn't scare me much and I only have TH9 troops, not TH10 troops. You'll get skipped more for sure than the same base with L7 walls, but the right armies just don't mind (hogs too of course)

Upgrade!!!

If I was you I would go ahead and max out your Tesla's. Walls do help a little but if it is making you bored of the game I say screw it and go to TH9. I'm having a bunch of fun up at TH9.

I looked you up and I'm at almost the EXACT trophy range as you and farm with almost the same army that you have in your camps. I can't find anything this entire week.

Are you boosting barracks? Or maybe SuperCell just likes you better and so you get better farms in your matchmaking

TH9 loot is great and the offensive capacity is much better, I'd say go for it.

I would go ahead and upgrade your town hall. One thing I suggest is that you save up your DE and begin to save your gold before it finishes, so you can start your 2 xbows and arch queen right away! Anyhow, work on your walls while the TH upgrades, once it gets inside 4 days, start saving for them xbows!

Upgrade th... Just do it... Do not let your hard earned gold being farmed by those pesky lvl 120+ anymore.

Screw those loot penalty... That's for people farming on bronze or silver league. You're farming on the zone that th7 doesn't exist... There is no loot difference for th9 in this area. You will actually take more loot because you will got much added offence strength on th9.

I go th9 when I'm about lvl 64 and never have any problems until now...

I had exactly the same problem at TH8. I decided to upgrade to TH9 and build those xbows ASAP. Best decision of my life.

I going to suggest you go ahead and upgrade. but first Start the highest Tesla you have. since they take so long, you don't want them behind 1-2 levels (in addition to any levels you gain from the TH upgrade) also you are going to want the builders as free as possible when you go to TH9, trust me. TH9 has MANY toys to upgrade

The walls Im a little on the fence here, as I have two accts, my main was Maxed TH8 cept a few lab things like Dark troops and like 20 skulls.. but I have no regrets for maxing...

Now on my alt acct also a TH9, has only a few skull walls (18) and Ive only been three starred a couple times in the last month, and that is with premie turrets.. if you farm in the right ranges then you will be shielded more often than cleaned out IME. (plus I empty my stores as much as possible before I log off) I neglected a lot of upgrades (did farming troops mainly and that's it, and splash turrets for def..) had plenty of lab stuff to catch up on the alt! you get 25 more walls to grind out too...so keep that in mind as you get them done at TH8.

As others have stated you should consider climbing and collecting your 40K Dark elixir to get the queen straight away, and fill your storages to get at least one if not both X-bows going straight away. plus plan for the Lab and Spell factory and Camps is a tough balance, but if you raid about 3 or so hours a day its definitely doable IMO. (having 4 builders on the alt acct they are almost always busy)

the start of TH9 is fun, but rough! doing raids with lvl5 troops is kinda sucky for the first month or so depending on which troops you do first in the lab.. (I did Giants as the ROI was the best, then Minions, then I did Archers to get them outta the way. Barbs and Hogs then B'loons this alone is a good month and a half of lab time..)

as long as you plan ahead and find a good range (which varies, so be prepared to climb and drop on a day-to-day basis) you should be fine.. I guess the main "problem" with going in maxed is the upgrades are all expensive (except the new ones you get..) so it can be tough to get the storages filled and get into a comfort zone straight away. but getting your X-Bows up, and the new buildings and storages up while your X-bows go up helps in the transition period IMO. it seemed to take me a day and a half more to raid for TH9 upgrades (costs more to search, less available targets etc..) than it was for TH8 but you start to adjust when your troops start maxing out for TH9.
