i think the next troop should bring something new to the game..your idea is good but really more of the same...we dont have a ranged high hp ground unit for a reason..if they can range and can be shielded no matter how low their dps is...they are likely OPed...you can see how much the wiz and witch do now itself and they have VERY low health can you imagine what a high health witch could do? on top of that your troop is basically a living moving inferno tower with even more amazing abilities!!....
if you dont mind me saying so your idea is not well thought out in respect to the game mechanics....the moderately high cost and camp space and the rejection to healing do not bring about balance to the troop sorry...
its time to think outside the box in terms of new troops and not recycle ideas with some modified aspects..
1 idea i really liked was the harpy thing which is based on the healer and shoots a rage area effect...now that is new thinking! im not saying its perfect but something new to the table yknow? CoC needs that now...:D
Well, who am I to say whats balanced and what overpowered, even the devs made poor choices when introducing new troops ingame, remember the hog when they first came out? Barely even useful, so after some time they got a prefered target change and became overpowered. then they got nerfed. The result of true balance in a game can only come from trials and feedback, and even with balance, there will always be players complaining of imbalance.
As for your favorite idea on a troop enhancing type of troop, i think there are several other troop suggestions before the harpy thing that also suggest the same role, a support troop that increases capabilities of other troops. So its not exactly a new idea, but i admit having a support troop such as that can give more options to raids.
well, on recycling ideas, thats all we can do, all ideas and troops that is in this forum or on coc itself have been used in some other game before, its getting more and more difficult to come up with something originally new and fresh unless you got really lucky or inspired.
well then thats what we need to get! i can see CoC rotting in some time with more and more experienced players leaving the game because of boredom, addiction limit ,etc and etc...CoC needs to really introduce something new and really exciting to keep the players coming back...the only thing that gets them in right now is really the community and their in game friends nothing else to be frank...this is why SC will gradually reduce prices and the time taken for the various activities as well as making gems easier to get...like they already are with the gem box and increasing the gems from clearing trees and all...i think they are very close to milking the CoC money cow dry!!
It is the risk of intellectual (virtual) business, they are selling ideas for money basically. Fresh and interesting ideas would only last so long and lets hope somebody in SC, the forum community or some random dude/dudette can come up with something brilliant and got CoC a new (and refreshing) breath.
I, for one am crossing my fingers for exiting updates by our hardworking developers, while trying to help in any way possible for a humble forumite.

Ive read through the whole post and I thought for a sec maybe it will be a fire troop next because maybe 2 lvl 7, 2 lvl 8, one for theme lvl 9 dark, one for theme lvl 10.
Its possible, but Im kinda hoping for the best... 2 levels of dark barrack with 2 new troops in one big update. Its not wrong to hope right?
there are 10 slots in barracks, the original elixir barracks have been filled and and IMO, dark barracks should be filled by townhall 11 (in the not-so-near future) and a new kind of troop producing building might become available then.
well, enough speculation on my part and thanks for the input.
I agree supercell need something big like a new th lvl either water, air or earth. And a new fire dark troop and water dark troops like a merman, fish human thing or a hydra with a new ability like at half health it gets an extra head and double damage, I've seen ideas like this. And maybe get rid of the loot cap from the ths a fair bit would be good so 10% loot reduction each th lvl. That could be a big change. Also apparently a big update was coming late march or early may.
Well, there are plenty of ideas contributed by the forum community here, and some even gets me moderately exited. There will be big updates, there will be more th levels and there will be more troops, perhaps even more heroes to balance the ever increasing defenses that comes with each th level.
as for the loot penalty, i think the current one is very very well tought of, as it keeps newer players away from the ever hungry more advanced players. It keeps the newer players happy not getting their bases trampled at the cost of some difficulty by higher level players looking for easy loot. It also helps higher level townhalls keep their loot better when they have it in moderate amount stored.
Perhaps, reducing the penalty for lower level THs might costs sc to lose their new players, but i think if the looting system in coc is altered and not be in zero sum like it is now, more players would be happy, be it the new, the casual, the farmer or the throphiers, and it could open up a better loot income without increasing the loss they suffer from being robbed. Increase loot income also opens up the way for more expensive and powerful upgrades.(Should I start a thread about this? Zero sum outdated?)
