TH9 Trophy Base | The Defier (Anti-Hog)

Hello friends... this is my new TH9 Trophy base- The Defier! it looks very similar to one of my old bases, but that base had one fatal flaw in it that led hog riders straight to the base's core. In the defense log where I get 3 starred by hogs I still had a major flaw exactly like that one... but in the version of the base that is posted on this thread I fixed the mistake. The benefits of The Defier are:
-Centralized CC very hard to lure
-Sends hogs and giants in a circle around the base
-AQ hard to lure out
-TH protected by teslas, mortars, and xbows
-Dark Elixir well protected
-Gold and Elixir lightly protected

Nice base! I honestly can't see anything wrong with it, besids the bottom AD being a bit exposed. :)

Thanks Nate :cool: that Air D down there is exposed, but I feel like the centralized Air Ds make up for it

awesome base bro

To be a very good anti-hog base, you need to pair up the Giant Bombs in such a way as both with go off simultaneously and with the hogs in range. Look at how that is done in the Ringus base. You want these pairs in the outer ring, not the core.

i may be wrong, but i think the cannon on the top right and arch tower on the top left would lead hogs to the center, otherwise it looks good :cool:

Nice base! Only lost to hogs once. And judging between attack times, I do not think you had cc troops or heroes. He still had to use 4 spells and quite a bit of troops.

Thanks N8 :cool: you're right during that time i had no heroes or CC troops and i had a mistake in the base that led the hogs straight to the center, but i fixed it

Thanks :cool: Btw I'm testing it in crystal 3 and 2 and still hold up great... a few 50% here and there

Great design but this is only in Crystal 3. The true test for a TH9 base is up in Master or 2550+:cool:

Im taking it to master now and it'll be up there for the whole Sky 9 event... ill keep the thread updated with how it does in master :cool:

I am also using this base right now and I'll be pushing for the next week to masters and I can post pics of my defence log if you guys want.

My first time to masters I used Balloons and Minions to easily accomplish 2651 trophies... this time im using Barbarians and Archers to get there cheaper and quicker but if you want to get there easier then go for the balloons and minions or even hogs

As of today I'm in the 2300 range and haven't gotten 2 starred or 3 starred since i posted the thread :cool:

I love the base man, it's awesome, how long have you been playing?, Been playing for just about 1 season now and I am at a TH5, keep it up would like to see more defence pictures when you get them.

Ive been playing for around a year but I got serious about the game around the beginning of this year... and thanks! ill definitely make many more bases in the future

Ill keep this thread updated with Master league defenses as i climb :cool:

I'll try it out...but In farming now..so really cant see any major raid to detect weakness of the base....only in April my clan will push..only thing i see a problem is its a bit too spaced out...easy for raiders to get 50%. You wouldn't want that in Masters...cos you need a defense win in every 3 one star raid to your base. But its a good effort, will need to mod it a bit since some of my structures are upgrading

I shall have to Mod the Core as it is Weak...eventually, 2~3 hogs will come in to the center....and the TH is totally unprotected except for location wise and a few defenses which are not interlinked to support one another in the event one is destroyed. Being in Master is kinda predictable...in Early season, you will be bombard with Gowiwi and Gowipe player. after 3~4 days, mostly hogs and Balloons...and the worst is minions....they just go straight in;)

Bad news is Antihogs are good for Hogs, balloons and Giants...but BARCH and BAM attack just defeats Antihog base easily. So need some anti BARCH features too...Good effort

I love how ti just makes them go around in a circle unless they are deplyed from 2 places on the same side.

ill move the outside buildings in closer... the reason why i had them far out there was so its hard to lure cc troops but you're definitely right... barch and bam are dangerous

It looks solid to me, but some things to consider.


Trap Placement - I'd consider altering some of the placements here. Currently a few giant scouts could set off a fair number of the traps if the attack is somewhat smart. If the traps aren't next to the entrances (more in-between) then its harder set the traps off. This applies to your big bombs and spring traps.


The only other thing to consider is that your wizard towers are very exposed. I realize that their is a limitation to how much you can protect them in this type of design.

In my own version, I used elixir storages as damage takes in front of wizard towers and used walls to steer troops towards other defensive structures first. Looking at your design, I don't think you could do the same with your large core.


Otherwise your base simply suffers from what any labyrinth design would. Looks solid

You might laugh at the simplicity of it, but take note...it gives me 1 win in every 3 defenses...which is good enough to maintain in Masters

Im currently in Crystal 1 at the 2500s and the base has lost once... a 2 star from max hogs and i also didn't have my traps up or any cc reinforcements at the time

Update: My trophy push is over and the Defier held up very well in masters! i was winning around 1/2 of my defenses which is decent for a TH9
