True Farmers Competition - Sign Up and See How you Rank Up against other Farmers

Introduction:

There are a couple other threads dedicated farmers' ranking in terms of GG & HH but there hasn't been one that has strict rules about boosting. So I would like to test out such a competition and see how the response is from the community, and provide more recognition and encouragement to people who farm without using gems - ones like Cloud Whisky and most members of Exploitations family I believe.

In Unity Alliance I produce a Raid Points report at the end of each season, to add up each members' GG & HH gain over the past season together for a single metric: Raiding Point. 1 DE or 100 Gold = 1 Raiding Point. So we are able to formulate 1 single ranking system for all farmers in our alliance.

So anyone can join this competition even if you have boosted in the past or is currently boosting, as long as you don't boost during the competition then you won't be disqualified.

Rules:

So each participant needs to submit the following data to me on this thread within 12 hours after each season ends (when server resets your badge). And I need the following only:

1) A screen shot of your current gold grab number
2) A screen shot of your current heroic heist number
3) And tell me your our current Town Hall level

In order to participate in the first season of this competition, you need to post the above data in this thread within 12 hours of after season ends. The first season will be from March 17 to March 30.

Restrictions during Competition:

I will be posting the top true farmers of every season (for each TH separately) like the ranking we have in Unity Alliance (sample at the end), except that everyone needs to be gem free when it comes to farming. That means no boosting, no gemming troops, no gemming spells, no gemming CC requests, and no gemming heroes' recovery time. You can use gems to buy builder huts, speed up research in the lab, or speed up builder time, boost mines/pumps/drills, but you cannot use gems to speed up farming.

During the competition, you need to update your new clan in this thread if you relocate your clan, and it needs to be a clan with name that people can look up and verify that you are not using gems to farm.

If anyone violates the above restrictions, then he/she will be disqualified and banned from current and all future seasons of this competition. It is okay to compete for several seasons, take a break and do a trophy hunt or farm some with gems, and then return to this competition.

Currently this competition is limited to TH 8-10 only, to limit the workload.

In the event that 1-gem boost promotion comes along, this competition will be open to that, which means 1-gem boosting will be allowed :)

Rankings and Medals:

So we will have 3 ranking lists per season, and 1 ranking for all times FOR EACH TH LEVEL :)

The 3 ranking lists will be the sample I have at the end of this post: Raiding Points (gold+DE combined), Gold, and DE.

The ranking

The player with highest Raiding Points will receive 3 medals

The player with 2nd highest Raiding Points will receive 2 medals

Reporting Violations:

If you are suspicious of someone is chea-ting in this competition, then please PM me first. Do not post on this thread as it can alert that participant if he/she is indeed chea-ting. When you PM me, please provide the evidence you have gathered. If I find evidence to be sufficient, I will either publish the evidence here in this thread or do some monitoring myself first to be sure - we do not want to harm anyone's reputation without sufficient evidence.

If you encounter issues with me in making assessment of the possible chea-ting, then you are welcome to post your evidence in this thread for the public to debate.

Feedback:

Any constructive feedback will be welcome, to help improve this competition. However, if anyone launches any personal attacks or tries to start any flame war in this thread, they will be reported to the forum MODs swiftly and dealt with according to forum rules.

Revision of Rules:

As organizer of this competition, I reserve the right to interpret the rules according to my own understanding, and possibly revise the rules in the future if needs arise. Because this is the first time I am running such a competition, I cannot think of everything 100% in advance, as well as there will be updates and changes made to the game I cannot predict or foresee. So please be aware that the rules of the competition may change in the future. When such changes are to be implemented, they will be informed on this thread at least 72 hours before taking effect, and cannot be applied to the current season for fairness.

Of course I will try my best to keep this competition running but if there are other more important obligations in my life prevents me from fulfilling this obligation effectively then I will have to end this. Because the roster is kinda small, I would like to extend the sign up for season 2 by 1 more day. The new sign ups will have a slight disadvantage because their progress will be smaller (starting later). Given Sharp's reputation in the game and on the forums, i'm sure he will give a reasonable definition that doesn't exclude regular farmers as well as well known ones who are holding monster records.

I am not here to definite what a true farmer should be. I simply named this competition with such words. This can lead to another debate, but this thread is not the place for such a debate.

In this competition though:

how can you track everyone though ?

So, in summary, this is a competition to see who can raid the most resources within a season without usage of gems on barracks and/or spell factory?

What about gemming CC request and heroes heal times?

I have a few questions on how you plan to do this:How will you be sure people are not boosting? its not difficult to leave your clan, do a boost run then rejoin without anyone knowing (it has happened in previous competitions) Also are you going to factor in league bonuses or town hall level?. Finally the 100:1 stat works with the gem cost ratios, however im not convinced its that accurate in reality while farming.

Don't need a boost run, just leave clan, insta-gem miniballs, return to clan, raid.

Can be done in less than 2 minutes.

I let the public (whoever is interested) to check the participants. If someone is suspicious of violating the rules (maybe using the method you have mentioned), then people can raise their concerns and more people will be watching that participant over time and see if anything fishy is going on. I personally will check frequently and track that participant's progress and analyze. If sufficient proof can be gathered, then such participant will be disqualified and banned from future participation of this competition. I have done this in the past, caught someone leaving the clan, farmed 5 million gold in 1 hour and then returned to home clan. It will be caught if you bring the matter to my attention and I will monitor such player over a period of time.

I cannot guarantee this competition to be 100% violation-free at all times. That is why there are disqualifications and a ban list. I will be maintaining that ban list for ones who we do not welcome back to this competition on the first page of this thread. We can only do the best we can to keep everyone following the rules, also count on their honor and words.

When I monitor that player, it is almost constant. So as soon as he/she leaves the home clan without posting on this thread first, most likely he/she will be caught (screen shot taken) and disqualified. Also that person's donated/received count would reset, so it would be quite easy to catch.

Unity members need to sign up here as well, and they are for everyone to judge. Anyone can provide evidence like I have mentioned above to disqualify any person violating the rules.

I wouldn't call it a true farmers competition as you're judging what a true farmer can do while I think totally money free clashers are really the true farmers.
Doesn't sound like it's perfect but good luck and hopefully integrity will prevail.
Also, time spent clashing always wins in these competitions.

Are there any dedicated checkers other than yourself?

Leaving a clan is a huge give away. The donated/received numbers would reset.

Yes, I call on the public to help provide evidence against violations. Let's see how it goes first, if there are problems then we can make changes.

If there are more than 1-2 players who are in question of chea-ting in this competition, then I may seek help for dedicated observation. But keeping a log on the donated/received numbers should take care most of the monitoring work load.

I think the only real fair way to do this would be to get everyone in 1 clan for 7 days. If you leave you're disqualified, if someone screenshots your base with a boost you're disqualified etc.

I guarantee if you don't confine people to 1 clan then policing it is impossible.

Good luck though. It definitely turns it into a marathon, not a sprint, so hopefully after 7 days you would get a clear leader board.

One thing i like about this is that every farmer except for one will definitely be humbled. ;)

This is easy to take care of and we don't need to bring everyone into 1 clan. I updated the rules to cross check donated/received numbers:

For the submission I need the follow SCREENSHOTS only:

1) A screen shot of your current donated/received troops when you click on your clan castle
2) A screen shot of your current gold grab number
3) A screen shot of your current heroic heist number
4) And tell me your our current Town Hall level

Note: The donated/received number in your profile must match with your donated/received number in your first screen shot (donated/received numbers when you click on your clan castle)

Good, let the game begin and may the most dedicated and skilled farmer win! I will keep a historic archive for each season. Top 3 farmers of each season for each TH level will get a virtual medal (gold, silver, bronze), and they can accumulate them over time :)

Should be a seperate division for people who want to boost. Seeing numbers between boosting and not boosting would be interesting.

I would join seems like fun but i don't like screenshotting stuff and posting it here i don't understanding how to do it haha

This seems cool but I don't plan to quadruple my army time by not boosting barracks for a season :/

Interesting, but why do people keep coming up with competitions that prohibit gemming when you can't catch people gemming? Sure you can see if they are boosting, but there is no way to see if people gem troops unless you are watching every minute.

Given the replies and seeming difficulty of doing this fairly, it seems you may be going about this comp wrong.

1) It is an open ended massive player tournament.

2)Policed by individuals.

3)Data is manually entered.

These only lead to errors and mistrust.
You cannot get away from manual data entry given game limitations.
You can have 1-2 weeks of competition throughout the year and congregate in clans specifically for the purpose of honesty and fairnessity. This enables policing to be done without effort or question.

From what I saw the link you provided was a competition between u and 1 other person. Not even close to be equal or an example of this undertaking.

If you end up spending all your time on data entry/review will you step aside from the comp? Or who will take over and do they have the skill set needed to perform the job?

I compile GG & HH data for my alliance of 200-250 members, at the end of every season. So this additional data is very easy for me - I already have all the report template and coding done and all I have to do is dump data into it and pretty much done!

We just gotta make sure people don't chea*t on this. If someone chea-ts, their data will be fishy, and then they will be monitored secretly (by me or by the public) and eventually found out.

I won't participate in the competition because I am the organizer/referee, my main job will be to produce the report and run the competition.

Sounded like a good idea, but it is hard to follow. Sounds flawed.

I'm not sure if I find it sad, funny, or completely pathetic that so many people are willing to che at on an anonymous online forum game competition. It's pretty sad that you even have to discuss policing this.

Having said that, I'll give it a go. I'm th9 and will post my info on the 17th. I have zero chance of winning but I'd like to see how I stack up.

I'm TH8... Could I participate? Or is it TH9 and 10s only?...

i cant see itd joining this, but maybe exfoliation as they have a gem free culture, so it plays into their style anyway. im personally out because i boost. though i have no issues with u ity running his comp his way,i do want to add, some boost because of lack of time in the day, some dont because they have time, some use quick build armies some use slower build armies, if one has 8 hrs to play, and i only have 2, theres no way i can match his output without boost, so many factors, anyways, like i said, he can do it however he wants, but these are reasons many "farmers" will not take part

i cant see itd joining this, but maybe exfoliation as they have a gem free culture, so it plays into their style anyway. im personally out because i boost. though i have no issues with u ity running his comp his way,i do want to add, some boost because of lack of time in the day, some dont because they have time, some use quick build armies some use slower build armies, if one has 8 hrs to play, and i only have 2, theres no way i can match his output without boost, so many factors, anyways, like i said, he can do it however he wants, but these are reasons many "farmers" will not take part

Yeah, I totally understand what you mean. I think boosting due to lack of time is totally reasonable.

If this no-boost competition goes well and I have extra bandwidth, then we can probably add a new competition category without any limitation on gem usage. I don't want too much on my plate all at once, so I will start with the non-gemming category first. Mainly because it aligns with my values and I don't see any other farming competition on the forum that serves this category ;)

3) And tell me your our current Town Hall level

In order to participate in the first season of this competition, you need to post the above data in this thread within 12 hours of season ending. The first season will be from March 17 to March 30.

Restrictions during Competition:

I will be posting the top true farmers of every season (for each TH separately) like the ranking we have in Unity Alliance (sample at the end), except that everyone needs to be gem free when it comes to farming. That means no boosting, no gemming troops, no gemming spells, no gemming CC requests, and no gemming heroes' recovery time. You can use gems to buy builder huts, speed up research in the lab, or speed up builder time, boost mines/pumps/drills, but you cannot use gems to speed up farming.

During the competition, you need to update your new clan in this thread if you relocate your clan, and it needs to be a clan with name that people can look up and verify that you are not using gems to farm.

If anyone violates the above restrictions, then he/she will be disqualified and banned from current and all future seasons of this competition. It is okay to compete for several seasons, take a break and do a trophy hunt or farm some with gems, and then return to this competition.

Currently this competition is limited to TH 8-10 only, to limit the workload.

Rankings and Medals:

So we will have 3 ranking lists per season, and 1 ranking for all times.

The 3 ranking lists will be the sample I have at the end of this post: Raiding Points (gold+DE combined), Gold, and DE.

The player with highest Raiding Points will receive 3 medals

The medals are then accumulated season after season. This leads to the all times ranking, and I will rank the farmers by the number of medals they have received :)

Reporting Violations:

If you are suspicious of someone is chea-ting in this competition, then please PM me first. Do not post on this thread as it can alert that participant if he/she is indeed chea-ting. When you PM me, please provide the evidence you have gathered. If I find evidence to be sufficient, I will either publish the evidence here in this thread or do some monitoring myself first to be sure - we do not want to harm anyone's reputation without sufficient evidence.

If you encounter issues with me in making assessment of the possible chea-ting, then you are welcome to post your evidence in this thread for the public to debate.

Feedback:

Any constructive feedback will be welcome, to help improve this competition. However, if anyone launches any personal attacks or tries to start any flame war in this thread, they will be reported to the forum MODs swiftly and dealt with according to forum rules.

Revision of Rules:

As organizer of this competition, I reserve the right to interpret the rules according to my own understanding, and possibly revise the rules in the future if needs arise. Because this is the first time I am running such a competition, I cannot think of everything 100% in advance, as well as there will be updates and changes made to the game I cannot predict or foresee. So please be aware that the rules of the competition may change in the future. When such changes are to be implemented, they will be informed on this thread at least 72 hours before taking effect, and cannot be applied to the current season for fairness.

my th is being upgraded to lev 10 n will be done in 12 days that is in mid comp so which th will i be placed if i take part in this comp

The TRUE FARMERS is the non gem Farmers.........

All trying to prove they are awesome Farmers .... but the TRUE Farmers is that who not gem but can be compared with the most of the best gemmers farmers.

Good question, so if you change TH during a particular season, then you should be placed in the TH bracket you started the season with :)

If you are not gonna use gems for farming the whole entire season, then might as well join and see how you do compared to others. It's better to start collecting the medals sooner than later, because I can only see the competition gets more and more intense down the road ;)

Ive mentionned it to the clan but with 9 full lava members and a couple more nearly done, most of the crazies have transitioned to the dark stuff and enjoying a slower ride at th10.

If anyone shows interest, we'll be sure to let ya know.

This competition is for gold and DE grab COMBINED, and I set up brackets by TH lv, so even though TH 10 is much slower for gold farming, farming DE is also a big part of this competition. Also, personally I would feel good just to be in this competition even if I farm very slowly, because it helps promote the culture of gem-free farming and I believe Ex clans probably have some of the best representatives for this - it would be a shame if none of you guys join in on this :)

You could easily check if they gem cc requests or anything you would like to, it easier for people like me to see your progress and all too;)

Because this is an ongoing "tournament", I don't think it would work because there are people who wish to participate this for the long term and I wouldn't want to force them to leave their home clans indefinitely :)

I respect the participants to have honor and integrity not to chea-t, because it would violate the very principles and values this competition is trying to promote. So I am not going to always look over their shoulders to check, unless people get reported.

A really good opening post that caught my attention. But I will not be entering because I do boost barracks a few times a week. I will ask a few pure players in my clan if they want to join though.

According to OP there are. They use gems to maximize their farming capabilities so they can progress quicker or spend less time playing. Wow hmmm maybe the false farmers are the ones who do not go all out to maximize their efforts. At the very least they should be called "light farmers"
