I was curious what people thought about the new forum format - for the new guys around a month ago or thereabouts SC changed the forum so all general chatting is now separate from the other sections - you now need to navigate away from general to find, tactics, creativity, bugs etc.
My opinion - I go to the other sections less as a result.
I did indeed prefer the old way of having the general one with all the bits on, and then going to Bugs/Problems, or Tactics.
General's still at the top (excluding announcements), so it's the one that gets used the most still I presume, but I'm kinda in the boat of that's what the mods are for...to move them into the correct areas, should they not be.
I think there is no difference to me. However the old system was way easier to use for sure!

Personally I like the old Forum layout
The old forum had a better layout, I like Daddy tend not to check out the sub-sections as much!
I think the difference is negligible.

Makes a lot of sense actually. Perhaps, therefore, would you consider having a quick navigation bar at the top of all subforums with links to the other ones? That'd bring back / improve upon the old functionality and also force people to decide which forum to start in :)Quote:

I agree that the old layout was better for users, but I can definately see where the mods are coming from on this. It does seem like it is working, though. I havent noticed as many recruitment threads in general as there used to be in the main forum.
To directly amswer the question, I visit the subforums the same amount as I always have, now it just takes a couple seconds longer.
