Hogs are way to OP

Now I'm sure plenty of people are going to be like "hogz r way 2 easy 2 stop with hog basez lolz." Ok if you need a special base dedicated to stopping ONE troop, ONE it's not even a combo that takes actual skill like healer giant, or golem with wizard. How many people ask you "hey do you have a barb base I could use? Those barbarians are so OP man they take out my entire base on there own." Like seriously for gods sake they take no skill to use, and they just 3 star high level bases like its a joke.

So what needs to happen? They need to be nerfed, my idea is either decrease there dps, or health greatly, or just decrease both slightly. But a more interesting idea is to have it when they reach half health their hog dies and they have to dismount and go on foot.

Upgrade to th10 and plant 2 inferno towers on milti mode in the middle of your base and youll be ok.

Just look at one of the 100 other threads.

You have clearly never used hogs, beating good bases with hogs takes a lot more skill than any of the other combo's you named.

Cmon really? If they nerf hogs any more they'll be like valks or like they were before they changed them, never used. Hogs r fun to use and push with but once u get around 2600-2700 it starts getting really hard with hogs. If they got nerfed again I doubt any one wld use them. Not long ago they said they didn't want to nerf them any more so they upped the price to train them.

I'm not going to bother giving my opinion about how I feel that hogs aren't OP. They might be unlockable at too early of a TH level, so they are arguable OP at TH 8 and below. Anyways, what bothered me in the OP was the comparison of hogs to barbs. As players level up and upgrade their TH, they are able to gain access to stronger, better troops. This allows players to come up with more complex and stronger army compositions to compensate for the increase in defense capabilities. Saying that hogs are OP because you have to have a certain type of base to defend better against a massive hog attack versus a massive barb attack just doesn't make sense. Barbs are the first unlocked troop. Hogs are one of the last troops you unlock. If you have a poor base design, it's only natural that an attacker using hogs, PEKKAs, dragons, golems and/or witches will stand a much better chance than using a bunch of barbs. I don't know what else to say. If people want to spend a ton of DE to make hogs, they deserve to have a powerful army because hogs can be a risky investment.

If you are TH8, go to correct trophy range, if you are TH9 then use Hog Base and again go to correct trophy base and finally, if you are TH10 use multi-mode IT.

So wrong for many reasons, but if you think hogs take no skill come use them up in master 1 league against maxed TH10 bases and tell me again how simple they are and require no strategy to use...

Agree with earlier post that argument can be made that higher hog lvls should be unlocked later (L5 perhaps only at TH10 instead of TH9, and adjust downward similarly) to help protect lower lvl THs from TH8/9s raiding, but honestly I think the difficulties TH8 in particular, and TH9 to some extent, have accumulating & saving DE are probably enough disincentive to keep hog use under control at lower levels anyway except pushing (and it's kind of a waste to even use hogs to push until you're Crys 1 anyway imo, as they're cheaper and equally effective troop mixes for all TH lvls at gold/lower crys leagues).

Obviously it is you who has no skill and only attack incredibly weak bases if you can 3 star with L2 hogs.

Not very odd that a troop which behaves in a unique way (jumps walls, goes for defences) requires a unique base design. It's really not odd at all if you think about it. They've been nerfed enough already, you don't really know what you're talking about here.

A man riding a superfast pig that can jump over walls and flatten almost anything is silly and don't belong in this great game. The character feels like something that could make a guest play for a short time but nothing more. Everyone would be given the new character at the same upgrade level.

You don't have to make an antihog base, you just have to include the elements that make a good antihog base in it.

It's not possible to make a base that will defend against all attacks, if you could, everyone would use it and the only loot would come from inactive collector raids, and how dumb would that be!

Hogs since they jump over walls and target defences they are easier to use than compared to other units. At lower TH levels i suppose they are very easy to 3 star with...but once you get up on trophies hogs require a lot of skill and planning to use. I used hogs recently to get to champ.. and believe me once you are past master 2.. with all the bases with maxed defences and multi infernos... even 1 starring a base with hogs is a big challenge. They definitely don't need to nerf hogs anymore.. that would ruin the unit altogether and noone would use them anymore. If you are getting raided by all hog armies and can't defend .. that means you are way above your trophy range. Would you complain if you got raided by a all dragon army and wiped out? The point is an all hog army costs a lot of DE just as an all dragon army costs a lot of elixir. And both are able to wipe out lower bases easily where as at higher trophies with well defended bases an all hog army.. an all dragon army... are very hard to use and require a lot of skill to get the stars.

If anyone hog raids you for 100% then he is giving up a lot of DE as well as elixir for the spells and time for build to do that. So there is an equivalent exchange. Just as when someone uses a all dragon army.. or a all pekka army.. or a huge gowipe army.. or gowiwi.. or all balloons.. SC has balanced the units-costs-times... pretty well.

But i do believe they need to work on making defences stronger at the moment as defensive wins at higher trophy levels are almost impossible to achieve.. unless the attacker makes some horrible mistakes.

And yes.. the posters here are right... there are plenty of bases that are effective against hogs as well as other units.

Definitely I have maxed hogs but rarely use them as it is not cost effective for farming, I have had some bad results in the past because I did not realize how to place them properly, they are a great tool and have been buffered several times. If your base gets totally destroyed by Hogs it's more than likely because you are in a cup range your defenses can't handle and or the attacker knows what he's doing with his Hog strategy. You can say the same thing about maxed Dragons, Witches or even a large amount of maxed Giants. You ought to see 16-20 angry maxed Giants with a jump spell and level 6 barbs and archers for support.

My first ever time using hogs I 3 starred a maxed TH8 base, that in itself whows how OP it is. Lvl 3 hogs, first ever time using them, 3 starring a MAXED TH8 base.

Hogs do not need a nerf again.

If ppl hog let em hog. Learn to eat more bacon it's delicious.

Off topic? Yes but I think its fn funny how a portion of the people who say this is ok are the same people who say zapping needs to be removed. It's the same basic argument. Yet your on the opposite side and hogs do far more harm than zaps. Does zapping hamper your hoggin?
