If you do it right, then yes. It would be a good idea to being some giants too, though.
wizards work best behind other troops, be that giants or pekka's or whatever. they're relatively weak and even with a healer they can get chewed down quickly if attacks are concentrated on them. send them behind groups of troops for best results.
I did this once coz I was desperate and I lost miserably... 10 wizards killed and the healer died too....

I leveled a level 65 base once with just 44 level 5 wizards. 3 starred it in about a minute and still had at least 20 wizards left alive. Was fun to do, but wizards take way too long to make for me to ever do it again.

If you use them with great care. The healers shouldn't be bothered by air defense else they're down in seconds. You might want to throw in a few giants to tank some dmg and take out air defenses. But as an answer to your question: Yes. It can work very wel!
I'm sure it would work if used properly, but definitely not worth the time to create the army.
