Get PEKKAs back in the game.

The PEKKA is one of the most powerful troops in the game, extremely High hit points and the most DPS of any troop so far, so why don't more people use the PEKKA?

In the last update Supercell gave the PEKKA extra health at lvl 3 and 4 in an attempt to help make the PEKKA a more valuable troop, however at higher levels it is becoming less and less used.

I propose not that we make the PEKKA target defenses, or increase movement speed or give it some crazy power, but that we add a small amount of splash damage to its attacks.

This would help particularly when attacking CC troops, or when used defensively.

Often times I see PEKKAs used on defense where they spend 2.5 second and waste 600-850 damage on a single archer or barbarian. On the same track I've seen PEKKAs get destroyed by groups of Archers and barbarians simply because there are so many of them and the PEKKA can only attack one.

The splash damage added would only be about .3 tiles (similar to that of a Wizard, which is know to be useful on defense or against CC troops) This splash damage would ONLY come in handy on defense and when attacking troops, but would help make the PEKKA far more useful.

I'm not sure if anyone has already posted something like this already but I think this could be a very useful addition to a great troop. The PEKKA is one of my favorite troops but lacks a certain amount of effectiveness, I hope something like this could help bring the PEKKA back in the game and put it back on top where it belongs.

They used to spin like the Valkyrie but now they just hit like if it was a hammer

It would be a very simple animation change to add splash damage to the PEKKA, regardless I'm not talking about animation I am talking about a suggestion that may have the potential to make the PEKKA better. Plus you wouldn't even notice a difference in animation if they added splash damage. You only notice that Wizards have splash damage when they are on defense.

Yeah, Pekka should do that.

Every week there is a suggestion about improving pekka and all i see suggested is target defences or give it splash damage these are terable ideas that isn't the point of a pekka. One problem with pekka is the double damage from teslas due to their metal armour conducting electricity, seeing as supercell are being (sort of) scientific here metal has a high melting point (much higher than cloth) so it stands to reason pekka should take reduced damage from infernos as they would take much longer to melt through solid metal armour than they would to burn other troops. Half damage from infernos or some other reduction seems like a logical idea to balance out the double damage from teslas.

the real problem of pekka is the training time ....

45 minutes is far too long for an attack ...

you can do anything to increase their strength but the training time to 45 min will always be too

my clan mate who refuse to unlock picka is that its size is too big.

for its power the size of it should be the same as dragons

using 10 picka could not destroy a base which 10 dragons can.

yea they should make pekkas better maybe they could improve the speed

Scientifically speaking, If you were in a large metal suit and you were all of a sudden blasted with molten hot magma, it would burn through your suit in a matter of seconds, but you would already be dead from the heat before the magma even penetrated your armor.
The metal conducting electricity makes sense because that is indeed scientific, but Supercell hasn't limited themselves to being scientific. Skeletons that carry bombs 2-3 times their size, giant men riding pigs that are able to leap over walls, etc.

As far as the PEKKA being too big or taking too long to train I think it's fine as far as I'm concerned. Considering it's health and damage I think it should take 45m to train and take up 25 HS.

My only thing is that I have had PEKKAs donated to me or donated PEKKAs to others, and on Defense they are not useful due to the fact that they can only attack on troop at a time. I think the splash damage would make them better offensively against CC troops, and much better troops defensively.

PEKKA has two swords once upgraded so far, so why not make him attack multiple targets.

Valkaries do splash, so it would take away valkaries special "thing" they got goin on lol

The pekkas favourite target should be defences.... That would help

Actually, ive noticed that alot more high levelled players are using GoWiPe nowadays, so i think they are making their way back into high level gameplay.

PEKKA aren't in high-level gameplay because they invented a bunch of troops way more awesome than the PEKKA. Once the Dark Troops update hit there were suddenly alternatives. Maybe, MAYBE if TH9 were still the highest level, and there were no Inferno Towers, PEKKA would be useful, maybe even the unstoppable force it was supposed to be. But, there are so many better non-Pekka options:

Archers + Hog Riders. This will 3-star any TH8 or a weak/middle TH9, depending on configuration, traps, and heal spell timing.

Healer/Giant/Wizard/Archer: The addition of a Level 3 X-Bow has made this less of a surefire win, now it merely gets you nearly all the loot.

So, yes, I don't know or care how Supercell does it but I do think PEKKA needs to be improved. Splash damage would at least make them useful defenders. Maybe if they had completely different behavior on defense? Speaking of completely ineffective defense, how about that Healer, huh? Guys? Guuuuuuys?

Splash is a good start



But I think Teslas are the problem. I think they should scale back the attack bonus they receive as you upgrade them.

Only thing I would like to change is attack speed. One hit every 2.5 seconds is too slow.

Make it one hit every 1.5 seconds. Each hit uses the opposite sword. She has two swords but only ever looks like she is using one.

There's quite a few reasons why you do not see PEKKA's being used more often, the main ones being that they're so vulnerable to hidden tesla's, and they're so expensive, and take forever to make, on top of the amount of camp space they take up.

As someone else on this thread has pointed out, with cheaper and faster training alternatives is why the PEKKA has become less of a desired troop to train over all the others. Long wait time, high cost, possibly low yield (meaning they get zapped into oblivion by a high level tesla coil, or they happen to go the wrong way as intended and gets killed early on, etc.) it's just better economics and time efficient to train say a whole army for that amount of elixir and time to train just one PEKKA.

Has nothing to do with how flashy, or how strong it is. I have seen replays from my clan mates and videos of effective PEKKA raids, and also total fail ones. I've seen a few ideas on here, good ideas, but some are probably from people who are getting aggravated by the mechanics of the game.

Just remember, if Supercell implements an idea or new mechanic, not only do you get to have that benefit, but everyone else does too, and they will find a way to make it go against your favor.

PEKKA should not be the replacement for the giants.

compare PEKKA with 3giants+3wizards combo, every one like to choose 3giants+3wizards when facing any kind of oppenent.

so, a new PEKKA should at least stronger than 3giant+3wizard combo, if her does, unit prize won't be the problem.

we need a true powerful PEKKA, what ever the price is.

The PEKKA is already a powerful troop, (high damage, does not get flung off by spring traps, high health, essentially another barbarian king that you can have one or more of) again time cost and elixir cost is the problem, for the same amount of time to train one PEKKA, a person can train a small army of barbarians, archers, giants, goblins, and wall breakers for less time, elixir, and camp space.

PEKKA, along with any of the troops if used properly, can be deadly. All troops have their pros and cons against them.

As someone stated, there are people who use PEKKA on a regular basis, but those are people who either buy gems constantly so they can just insta-train them, or if they don't, they're pretty much upgraded to the max and just farming for their townhall or something or other.

Either way, yes you are correct, the vast majority of players will use 3 giants/wizard combo over one PEKKA just because they're still in the upgrading stages development of their village.

It's basic economics, I'm not going to spend 42K per PEKKA and wait 45 minutes or more to train each one, when I can spend double that and make and entire army for half the time of one PEKKA, now if I had some extra elixir lying around and my builders are busy, or I have nothing left but my town hall to upgrade, then I may mess around and play with a PEKKA here and there, but until that point in development, not very many people will spend that kind of time and resources for just a couple of PEKKA's.

Well the idea of using pekka to attack cc is to make her as a shield and use wizards to wipe their cc troops. The only reason people doesn't use pekka is because she can die so fast when face hidden tesla which is powerful and deal high attack ( double against pekka ). Remove this ? If pekka become more powerful than it will be easy to wipe other people. Just make her attack faster as she is slow and take ages to attack ( old lady ). You need your mind to wipe cc not area splash

Okay so what you're saying is, you just want to be able to use a PEKKA and watch it wreck havoc during the attack with no consequences, well I don't think that's going to happen.

PEKKA's are pretty much the same as dragons high hit points, good damage, slower than spit. So what's next, you want dragons to fly faster?

Don't think this is going to happen, every troop has it's ups and downs, it's up to you to make the decision of do you want to invest in making that particular troop.

Gauging from what I have been hearing it sounds like while a lot of people feel the PEKKA needs a slight improvement but we also need to understand that using the PEKKA takes strategy. I've used PEKKAs a few times and sometimes they wreck shop and other times they end up walking outside they base taking out army camps and barracks until Hidden teslas fry them to death.

Im gonna rule out the ideas of changing PEKKAs favorite target to defenses, attacking multiple targets, and their double damage from Hidden Teslas.

What it is sounding like to me is that PEKKAs only real flaw at the moment is that they are not cost/time effective. When training a PEKKA, 42,000 Elixer could easily get you an entire army of smaller troops that could do far more damage than a PEKKA, along with 45 minutes to train, of which I see a lot more Golems used than PEKKAs and they also take 45m to train.

While I still do think the PEKKA needs just something extra special I also don't want to take away from the strategies needed for PEKKA.

PEKKA would be used more if teslas didnt tear them up and the time to make was lessened

I've been going over the responses, and the only solution that I can offer for the PEKKA is to reduce it's training time by 5 mins, and take away the double damage from tesla coils (although it does make sense, they are wearing full plate armor for crying out loud)

so essentially you now have a substitute barbarian king, for when your BK is regenerating. Keep it just as dumb and stupid as the BK (I'm sure for those of us who have one, we've all witnessed at some point our BK's suffering a major case of A.D.D.).

As a previous post has stated, each troop including the PEKKA takes a certain level of finesse and timing to maximize damage. By now with all the research material most people can determine just how many tesla coils could be lying about by simply looking at the TH level.

I've witnessed raids where PEKKA after PEKKA was destroyed by tesla coils simply because they were deployed even before a single tesla coil popped up. Then there are the PEKKA raids that were just so beautifully orchestrated that even just a few PEKKA's took out the remainder of the base with phat loots and all.

The PEKKA with its high health and damage is pretty much the payout for investing so much elixir and time into making one. It's a normal barracks troop, so it really can't have special abilities equivalent to that of a dark elixir troop.

If supercell does decide to give the PEKKA something extra I hope they will make it into a dark elixir troop rather than keeping it in the regular barracks. The dark elixir troops are special troops with special abilities because the story behind them are, they are empowered by the dark elixir (yes I'm sorry even a simple game like CoC does have its little bit of lore).

So I have to disagree to giving the PEKKA something extra, if the decision is made that they will get a special ability, then I hope they agree that it should be moved to dark barracks rather than stay in regular. If they decide to do something with the PEKKA and keep it in regular barracks then I have to agree with just taking out the increased damage from tesla coils and reducing it's training time a bit.

As I have stated the PEKKA can be used in a fashion as a stand in BK while the BK is healing, and you can have more than one!

Yeah man they are an awesome troops but they need some improvements, hope Steve see this post

Yes awesome idea giants will do all the good work and pekka will go around the base destroying anything in its path until time runs out or they finish that pekka

Swords can be used to slice instead of hammer and spin. The slice can then cut foes in half for example if you were as strong as a pekka.
By slicing it can do splash damage on everything inside the slice range.

The change would then involve the sword moving sideways instead of "like a hammer".

I've thought about this as well. The splash damage could be more of a small area in front of the PEKKA as she slashes side to side.

That's called a cleave by the way. Anyways, the reason why not many people use PEKKA's is because those who can make them (TH8 and above) are busy farming for their upgrades.

The only time you will ever see a raid with a PEKKA or few, is when that attacker has maxed out his/her TH level defenses and what not and is just messing around with troops.

Also with base designs continuously being put out by the CoC community, the PEKKA would naturally go for the nearest building to destroy (just like the BK when dropped too early).

For those more developed villages that are just overflowing with loot, yes, any troop that can bypass all those walls are more favored over PEKKA.

If SC made PEKKA's target defenses, well it could be an improvement, but then again that would cause the game to be broken if they were to be defense destroyers (just make an army of giants and PEKKA's and toss a few rage potions, bye bye maxed out TH9 village).

In order for the PEKKA to be defense focused, it would need a serious nerf to its damage output and health. A level 3 PEKKA can easily destroy a level 6 mortar with just the first swing (L6 mortar hp = 610, L3 PEKKA damage per attack = 750) already.

As great as this may sound for you (I know you're thinking heck yeah, make them defense focused), let's turn the tables around and your village is the one on defense and you're being attacked by the same, defense focused PEKKA's you're so craving for. Their giants have your mortars occupied, there goes 3 L3 PEKKA's, rage potion, oooooh one swing and there goes all 3 of your L6 mortars and what other defenses were surrounding it, wow that was fast, still got a whole minute left and all that's left is the loot, guess those 3 PEKKA's will take care of those for you too.

I actually agree and as i said earlier in the thread I DO NOT think PEKKA's should target Defenses. I simply want to add in a small amount of splash damage or "cleave" damage as you said, to help make it better against CC troops and on defense. The PEKKA would still need to be used properly and could still easily be taken out by Hidden Teslas and other defenses but it would allow the PEKKA to stand up against enemy troops that would normally be able to take them out. I've seen guys who used 4-5 lvl 3+ PEKKAs that all got wiped out by archers sitting behind walls. I just want to help make the PEKKA just slightly better.
