omg great idea
Clan wars and clan banks FTW
I also really like this idea. To help keep within the theme of CoC, I would offer these variations for discussion.
Instead of a rail gun, call it a wall mounted cross bow (miniature xbow) or wall mounted catapult. Also, instead of (train) rails, buy a "wallcap with grove" (someone thing of a better name, please).
Here is my vision of how it would look and work.
1. strictly a defensive device.
2. the wallcap would cover a single wall section
3. it would have a groove in it that the wall guards (imagination needed here) would use to slide the device to where it is wanted on that wall.
4. the device could require a minimum of two capped, adjacent, wall pieces before it could be purchased.
5. the device could be positioned at any place on the wall that has adjacent wallcaps. alt option, the device could move xx number of wall sections automatically (maybe based on upgrade level??)
6. in keeping with the medieval theme, it could only point outwards as seen from the center of the play area since medieval castles had walkways near the top of walls and the troops couldn't swing catapults a full 360. (this one needs lots of work)
7. the device could not turn corners, must be on straight sections of walls.
8. as someone said (sorry for not having your name handy) this would need to filled by something; Dark Elixer is my thought in keeping the mini-xbow theme.
9. first available at TH7. future upgrades and quantities I leave to others and or the DEV Team to determine.
reply to my own post. I think it should be called catapult to be unique and separate from xbow. rate of fire would be in line with cannons or archer towers, not xbow.
very much open for debate.
Yes, just one row of walls as long as they have the wallcaps (really need a better name). Think about that a moment. Ten wall pieces with wallcaps, then a break in wallcaps and then ten more walls with caps. That is two distinct sections.
that leads to one more bullet point
10. only one catapult per section
Ok I'll add that only one catapult per section is allowed.
This is going to sound weird: Ruled Out.
*Stack def structures – ATs over walls, Teslas on top of barracks (truly hidden), etc.
A defense gliding over walls is ruled out. Although this is a new defense, it still falls under the category of a defense stacked on a wall. Plus, imagine it moving away from your troops.
Well, that sucks. I had no idea it would be ruled out. Although it depends on how you think about it. And this is my 50th post, yay me, I'm now a junior member!
