Customizing your profile, Help?

Okay, So I was visiting players profiles, and saw there background as different colors, I then wanted to do it,

I found out (I think) that to change it, you had to customize your profile, when I clicked that, it came up with a bunch of codes like #3e3e3e, And I didn't get that, So, How do I change my profile to different colors, like Green, Black?

If you just press the color you can choose it or you can go to http://html-color-codes.info/ click on the color you want and use the code.

Found a bug, I changed the color, but it doesn't save? Even though I saved it, I went back to my profile and it was default color?
