How to keep motivation, when nexting x100?

How to find the motivation? I use incredibly long time to press next, even when I have trophy hunting or farming. I am TH10, and has been from 1400 cups for 2800th I'm getting annoyed every time I need to attack - it almost requires a major planning when I have to attack, because it takes 30 minutes to complete, and find a worthy fight. In the past, I could log in and fight in under 10 minutes. The only thing keeping me going is the social. How do you keep the motivation up? I feel I spend unimaginable much time to press next.

Start a mini account. Its tons of fun the second time around. Also gives you something to do while building your th10 army.

Nothing wrong with the loot. Rise in cups, change armies, learn to attack non-abandoned bases, yadda yadda yadda...

I'm th10 farming between 2600-2800, and loot has never been better. The change SC made to the loot formula and percentages improved the game drastically.

Really! So you raid every 2 hours with a strong army with spells and get approx 400k of gold per raid. Wow, fantastic return for your time and effort, not!!!! Before the December update (when there was more collector raids) you could harvest 1m gold per hour with no spells and a cheap army with very little effort. I know what i prefer to improve my base.

I hear you. I don't raid anymore, I don't seem to get any gains at all in TH 10. I am casual player and maybe I'll get one win a day but if you defend your TH then you lose more than you can. All I do is log in and donate to my clan at this time. Raiding is not worth it as I can't progress at all.

This game needs several fixes, one should be to army cook times. If we are going to have less loot to raid ppl then atleast make the game fun. Wait for armies 45+ minutes gets old fast.

The last two post - I totally agree. I'm not playing as often as i was before. - They should rename the game; ClashforNext. There is no fun, to watch 50 - 100+ bases.. I miss the old loot system/the old system where i didn't had to use more time pressing next, than i actually play.

I have been in masters for several weeks now, I have not found loot to be this easy to find. It still involves having to switch servers, over, and over again. I am not even being picky about bases.

Regarding motivation, I haven't been able to keep it. It's declined steadily and consistently over the past 2.5 months since the new loot system was introduced.

More and more people are quitting, and so more and more inactive bases are eventually being removed. Supercell has screwed themselves over. If they don't do something about it, their game is eventually going to tank.

I yet don't understand, how come SC don't listen to their customers. The past 3 months has been awefull. Just look at Time bug - not been fixed, or even a comment in 3 months. The loot problem, pressing next.. I don't know why they are doing this - it WAS a great game, and great staff..

Frankly, you don't. The motivation of this game for me has always been enjoying the progress of stealing loot and advancing. Hitting next is not fun or profitable, so I have cut back my playing considerably. I have stopped gemming, I often gemmed builders and troops in the past. If something doesn't change I will just drift away. I don't expect to change SC, they are too big. So I will just do what is right by me, and stop playing when it is no longer fun.

I would have quit a long time ago if not for my wonderful clan. I am really hoping the game improves at some point so I can keep hanging out with them, but my time for games is limited and COC is dying for me in the current form. I have a TH8 alt and it's ok to raid on that account, but then why not just try a different game if I want to start fresh. I want to enjoy my TH10 if I stay in COC.

I used to play this game all the time, before work, during work and rushing home from work to get straight on it. Getting in as much time as i could. However, Since the new loot system, and moving to th10 my interest has faded.

The game has lost it's fun, putting in a couple of hours straight used to mean progres and a sence of achievement.

Now the game has turned into a chore and progress is slow, to non existent, if you are unable to put in long hours.

Sc are not listening to the loot problems or the next issue. I hope they take notice of all the many many many bad loot threads and change things before most players loose intrest completely and move on to other things.

Here's hoping.

This. And before when my troops got ready i thought "oh its time to attack let me launch coc", now when my troops are ready i think "bah ill attack later" and attack about 3 hours after they are ready (average)

Seen these types of threads many times in the 2 years I have been around, ther will be no fix, one day it will get better and the week after it gets worse.

People complaint a bit, the vicious circle starts again, been the same for quite a while now mate, welcome to the NEXT stage of CoC :)

Try every 33-41 minutes lol. You clearly haven't raided at high rank. I get 400-600k gold + loot bonus of 100-120k of each at 3000-3300 every 33-41minutes and get 1-6k dark elixir by accident every raid.

Im with ya brother. This nexting issue, with all the SC ♥♥ about data not supporting a true issue, is going to ruin the game. This must be fixed!

Ok, but without the boost on spells i suspect those loot numbers are affected somewhat significantly

I just don't understand why Supercell continues to act like everything is fine. I don't enjoy hitting next for 10 minutes straight every raid and spending over 100k. I would rather spend my time actually raiding or talking with my clan. Obviously Supercell employees have bases and raid, do they not encounter that 98% of bases that appear have like 20k-40k in resources? Why would I spend gems to boost my barracks when I know most of that time will be spent hitting next.

So frustrating when your cheapest upgrade is 4m and every base that is presented to you has 20k in gold.

No barracks boost. No Hero boost unless I royally screw up. Only boost racks if I'm pushing cuz I tunnel visioned and lost too many raids in a row or want to push for an upcoming cup hunt(e.g. Now prepping for spring hunt by moving from 2900 to 3400).

If I have pressed next for what I feel has been to long, I cook some dragons and try again in half an hour.

There are few times in the day where I ever have to hit next excessively. If you find you are doing it more often than not you are doing something wrong.

Not much. I can still pull 8m a day without spell boost vs. 10m(and trophy gain) with 80 gems/day.

Please prove it with screen shots that you can make 8m a day without using gems and raid every 30-ish minutes. Sorry but I think it is impossible without buying gems.

So you get 8m gold per day with raids earning you 700k gold at a time. 8m divided by 700k is approximately 11.5, 11.5 multiply by 30 minutes equals 5.7 hours. So you play this game about 6 hours a day???

Hehe, i just thought the balloon strategy was heavily reliant on spells, so i assume your hitting those bases with storages easily accessible, which again i suppose is quite easy to find up there.

i watched one of your vids the other day and was well impressed, just wish i could use balloons

Haha! 6 hours is for casuals. That's keep your builders on defenses only kind of time. If you want to profit enough to do anything more you actually have to really play the game. I mean REALLY play.

I think you have mentioned in a previous post that you are a casual player. I dread to think what time you think a serious player should do. This is meant to be a mobile game, this reinforces my opinion to get on well in this game you need to treat it like a second job. Sorry, but I have more important things to do.

If you have more important things to do, then stop complaining about loot and telling players how the game works if you have no idea how it does. Because clearly you put more importance on complaining than the actual game itself.

Testing to see if I can upload any pics. Boosting spells to push back to 3300(at 3000+ you have to boost) and you next up here less than in lower leagues. I suggest any Townhall 10's having a lot of trouble at least try moving up. There is loot most places 2400+ if you know where to look and how to take it at a good pace.

Loot hasn't been that great today but even if it doesn't pick up I'll still get 2 level 11 walls and may be able to up my Queen to 35.

You are obviously a very highly skilled player SSofJetlife, not everyone has the same skills as you. But saying that there is not a problem for the Nexting or loot issue may be true for you, but not for 99% of players.

I said "you" not me....you can't get heroes to level 40 playing casually unless you want to play for a year. Please reference the above and this. Hearing people complain when you can still do just fine irks me to no end. People like that get shown the door where I come from. You give 110%, you shut your mouth, and you get the job done. There are players who farm at 2600 as townhall 10s, they next a little less than gold league players and still keep all builders busy and have full level 9 walls. Complaining is waste of time. Carve a path for yourself and if something isn't working maybe you aren't doing it the right way. Complaining stems from laziness.

Where I come from that's when we all use the door. We don't let people take advantage of us. And your 400k an hour is garbage. Putting that up as good when you're not even making your elixir back from your troops and having to gem in addition.... Yea please, show us the door.

It's 700k gold per hour. You forot that I attacked 1.5 times per hour and get 100k loot bonus per. 700k per hour as townhall 10 is great! 1m per hour is behind you when you were a townhall 9. The games supposed to get harder.

2600 did get a bit worse lately. Try 2700 or 2250 with BAM.

What a load of ♥♥♥♥ this is. SuperCell created a game that we all enjoyed and then with one fell swoop completely ruined it. If your favorite restaurant completely changed it's menu in one day would you just keep going back without complaining? Of course not. It's not laziness it's our massive contempt for the complete and utter greed SuperCell is displaying with their blatant attempts to get us to break out our credit cards just to do something as simple as farm.

Now, I'm th9 and I go from 1400-2200 and use every farming army possible from BAM to BARCH, to Giant/healer/wiz (my balloons aren't to lvl 6 yet so I can't use miniball) and it just sucks the vast majority of time no matter what strategy I use. I have been on for almost the entire day switching between quick and longer build armies and have found 1 raidable base with over 200k gold. It's beyond a joke.

They did one hell of a job getting me addicted to this game and last year I use to buy gems regularly, but now, no more gems for sure and unless something changes soon I'm done.

And I will put all of my mines, pumps, and collectors way outside my base for all to raid....OOPS I FORGOT THAT WONT HELP YOU ALL BECAUSE SUPERCELL WILL JUST PUSH ME SO FAR BACK INTO THE QUE I WILL NEVER BE RAIDED.

I'm just so sick of people barraging the forums with complaints when 90% of the players have figured out a way to still do fine. All you are is a loud 10% of people who want the whole game handed to you.

play searching games like look for flaws in peoples bases or things that they probably dont notice like a missing wall or they forgot to upgrade a wall

I spend hours of my life every day on the forums, on social media sites, and on youtube trying to help players who are having trouble by showing them it's different than it used to be but it's not as bad as you think and all you do is trash me, insult me, spam me, and spread rumors about me. That's why I take this attitude, you can't be helped and my time is truly wasted on the whiny children of the world. Once your one or two usual methods stop working you claim the sky is falling. There is no hope for you.

I think you have your facts wrong there, if you are a TH10, I believe 90% are unhappy with this loot system/nexting problem and wish it it reverted back to the previous one.

The nexting issue is not a regular issue for me. Sometimes it's smooth, other times rough. But I guess the OP has the right to complain. If someone needs motivation to play a GAME, then there must be something not right with the game.

The nexting issue doesn't make the game harder, it makes it tedious and boring.

What a shame. Our clan has been around since the beginning. But, our growing list of TH10's are all having the same problem finding loot. We all love playing the game, but hitting the NEXT button is not part of that enjoyment. People quit playing every week. Loot bonuses in Crystal league are minuscule & do not even make up for the massive sum spent on searches.

If Supercell is trying to be greedy, they are doing a bloody awful job of it. Inactive players do not buy gems. What sane business alienates is most loyal customers? It is madness.

I am glad that Masters & Champion League players can find loot. But the average Clasher in our clan (lvl 65-115) is not good enough to rise that high in trophies.

Clash of Clans is my favorite game of all-time. That is an impressive statement, because I was alive when the original Pong was introduced. I would be thrilled to keep buying gems to play Supercell's game. Unfortunately, they really are not letting me. Every time I have to hit NEXT, I say out loud, "Why are you not allowing me to play your game Supercell?" As our clan disintegrates and I make my plans to quit playing, I can only think what a shame it is, what a ridiculous shame.

What range do you guys normally raid in? I liked 2200(500-700k gold per hr) so it's pretty good. Also practice makes perfect if you want to try farming higher up. It's actually not that bad to hold trophies at 2700 with 16 loon armies.

It's not condescension. Its exasperation. 1900-2300 with BAM is good for 500-700k gold per hour except on weekends. 2700+ is good for 700-800k gold per hour all week with DE to go with it.

We actually agree on more than you think. I just never said it.

But yes TH10s are supposed to average about 600k gold per hour and thats how it's always been.

It's a sense of entitlement but it's also a sense of 'I can't'...what you need is a sense of 'I need to try something else' even if it's just a change of attitude.

Ok then, I like that post much better. And, I probably took some of my crappy farming day exasperation out on you today. So my apologies.

It's just been so crazy inconsistent for me that it gets frustrating. On Wednesday I was BAMing at 1600 and I actually was making 1.5 mil per hour (it was just like the old days!). And then all of a sudden it just went completely dry and for the last two days....zip.

As a very high-ranked player, I don't think you are identifying with average-Joe Clashers AT ALL. Our clan has a half-dozen newer TH10's and we are all having the same extreme problems finding loot. Hit NEXT 150 times last night, then settled on a base that had 147,000 gold. Unfortunately, the searches cost me 150,000. I am rising through the Crystal leagues in search of loot. But, the game has become far too tedious to make that any fun. So, sadly, I am done.

I'm actually a fairly new th10, about 2 months in. I did occaisonnaly lose gold on searches. Ask my clan I went -400k on one raid. You can't let it bring you down. Push yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again. It gets better. Even if it's not the next raid, it'll be the next hour or maybe that evening. Also, weekend are always bad so never base loot off of weekend loot. If that doesn't work try learning balloonions for crystal 1 or master 3. If that doesn't work try hog healers in crystal, if that doesn't work take a break and push to champion and tool around up there for a bit. Wait atleast 7-10 days before you declare that there is 'no loot' in a range. Bad luck exists everywhere.

Because you are in the top 1% of players. Congrats on being that good. The vast majority of players who are not skilled enough (to rise to Masters) or blessed with enough free time to play 6 hours per day must quit the game. That, to me is sad.

I just read the whole thread. Interesting how people view the loot. my take on it is loot is still there you just need to know when, where, and how to find it. Spending lots of time searching is not fun and im sure all of us have gone on those 50+ search sprees. Just gotta be patient and keep grinding. I agree with ♥♥. th10 is the final frontier... not supposed to be easy. lets all just be glad loot is not like it was for th10 months ago when 100k gold was a god send.

Try using it on your phone and clashing in small free times you get. You can total 6h worth of raiding without being online 6 hours.

A 10 minute span of time shouldn't be spent on a game. Any game like that isn't a real game. I've been saying it for a year now. Clash of clans isn't a mobile game, it's a full game like any other on a different platform put into mobile form.

15 minutes where you settle for an ok raid is the right balance.

Ok, I'm going to disagree with you here again ♥♥ (but with no flaming attached :cool:). This is a mobile game and up until December of last year you could easily hop on for 10 minutes and have some fun. I don't think it's too much to ask of SuperCell to continue to give us the same enjoyment in 2014 that we got in 2013.

15 minutes of searching is just crazy for the average player. It might be ok for the hardcore folks but if people keep having 15 minute search times this game is dead.

Tuesday and Wednesday it was great. Well over 1 million per hour (1.5 mil per hour on Wednesday). But Thursday and today less than 500k per hour with the exact same strategy.

So it's complete hit and miss.

A while ago there was a video shared here where one of Supercell's representatives said Clash of clans was meant for both casual and hardcore players. Townhall 10 is the point where it goes from casual to hardcore.

I do play 6-12 hours a day, but thanks to the 40minute build time of my army 30 of every 40 minutes can be spent in my real life, barring a screen tap every 6 minutes. As you progress through a game and as a game progresses it will be ever more difficult to keep going. The higher you go the more of a challenge it is because a game would be boring if it never got more difficult. You foret that when this game was young townhall 8 was the max and i doubt anyone here will claim townhall 8 was hard, then townhall 9 came out, little less loot, little higher costs, little harder, townhall 10 is the next step in that chain upwards.

In conclusion, if you make at least 600k/hour at townhall 10 then you are getting the right amount, if you don't have the time to keep your builders busy then you don't have time for video games anyways.

I offered half a dozen methods I have found to yield 600-800k gold per hour. I am currently using the one that costs a dollar a day because it also offers enough dark elixir to keep both my heroes upgrading while I get 700k+ gold per hour.

If after giving all these methods a fair test period you cannot make over 600k gold per hour, then and only then should you come here to complain about nexting and loot.

Śs, one of the issues is that there are not enough army compositions that allows you to farm where you are.

If balloons got the same nerf as hogs then you would be screwed like the majority here.

Yes you can Barch or mass Archers to that place but realisticLly you probably cant do the damage necessary to make those sorts of numbers.

If there were more variety with fast build armies then more of us could hold that range but again as stated earlier the demand on spell useage for other armies is high nowadays, that equals gemming SF if you want to hold that range or waiting 2/3 hours for them.

Not everyone is as accomplished as you with Balloons and minions.

So this means that we simply cannot farm that high.. I suspect that the majority of those you speak of that "dont complain" are mainly looners

Am I the only one who caught that little tidbit about staying online constantly? Wondering what people think of this? Is th game only playable now for those that can stay online all day, in between the rest breaks?
