Dragon:the strongest unit in the game

Dragon is the only flying unit in the game that can shoot air and ground troops with SPLASH damage.
let's have some showdowns between the Dragon and every other troop in the game:
1.Dragon vs Barbarian: Dragon wins since barbarians are ground units and can't shoot flying troops.
2.Dragon vs Archer: Dragon wins because it will turn the Archer into fried chicken with 1 blow,since archers have low HP.
3.Dragon vs Goblins: Dragon takes the win here too,Goblins are fast but can't target flying units.
4.Dragon vs Giant: Dragon is victorious once again,giants are slow ground units that can't fly.
5.Dragon vs Wallbreaker:no chance here and another point for the Dragon,WB are ground units that targets only walls.
6.Dragon vs Balloon: Dragon wins here too,Balloons are flying units but can't target another flying units.
7.Dragon vs Wizard:this is gonna be tough,Wizards are like Dragons they can shoot air and ground units with splash damage,but due to low HP the Dragon will burn the Wizard into dust.
8.Dragon vs Healer:lol what's the Healer gonna do? Heals itself...Dragon wins as well.
9.Dragon vs PEKKA:this is the battle of the monsters,PEKKA have the highest damage of all troops,but its powers won't work on Dragon because it's a flying unit...and another point for the Dragon.
as you can see the Dragon defeated all the troops and with ease,the same goes for Dark Troops,i'm just too tired of typing:rolleyes:

well the dragon is my favourate troop, I always have one to donate and I always keep one in reserve while farming just in case I need extra fire power, but if you look at it critically it takes 20 space, 30min to train and 36k elixir for my level 3 dragon and if you match troops like archers against it, its not that effective lvl4-6 archers with 10-20 of them in a circle around the dragon to stop splash damage then you have a problem.

20 lvl 6 archers (same housing space, 16% of the elixir, 7% of the training time using 4 barracks) can easily kill a lvl 3 dragon.

vs lvl40 archer queen with invisibility ability?

Balloons. - It seeks out defenses.
Giants - It seeks out defenses.
Barbs - Little ground dragons that are cheap and can be used as meatshield when you are using barch.
Archers - Anti-dragon and good cc troops
Wizards - Anti-dragon and good cc troops
Goblins - Loot seeker
etc.

I don't use the other troops that much.

Good points guys,but i'm talking in a general way,regarding of the cost,housing space,training time and number of the troops.
i just can't tell how many times a Drag in my CC saved my village.

I totally agree, dragons in the cc are a nice surprise sometimes!

the archer queen doesn't cost anything, requires no housing space nor any build time (only heal time)... so I still think from a 1vs1 perspective the queen will win.

as a th8 player, I am looking forward to making my acquaintance

Comparing 20 space drag to 1 space archer is like comparing Apples to oranges.
And not to mention about the cost for efficiency.

EDIT : 1 minion can destroy lvl 40 Barb King, so Minion is powerful :rolleyes:

yeah Dragons in CC always makes the attacker's adrenaline goes up:rolleyes:

You can't compare it like that. Flying troop against troops that can't even hit flying troops won't work. If PEKKA can hit the dragon then the PEKKA would win. Comparing like that is just battle, not how good they are.

It also takes 20 slot and 30 min to train one.

Barbarians are the strongest unit. They are good all round troops. Good health, good damage, cheap, quick to train, low barracks cost, great facial hair. Do Dragons have great facial hair?! NO!:cool:

To be fair you can't just put 1 dragon against 1 archer

A dragon costs 45000 elixir, an archer 300 which means you could make 150 archers for the same price as 1 dragon...

You could do it on housing space...
A dragon takes 20 Space and archer 1 so thats still 20-1

You could do it on time... a dragon takes 30 minutes and archer takes 25s thats 72-1

A drag can kill 50 archers easily. Especially since drags have splash damage. If archers are grouped up, they'll be killed in 2-3 hits

I've seen a single witch kill a drag. Just took a while ;)

Barbs - lol no chance
Archs - 20 archers, when placed not in one spot, can take down a dragon easily. But, dragons can fly over walls and avoid things that target ground only, so I'd say that dragons win this one for overall strength. But, the archers would beat the dragon.
Goblin - lol no chance
Giant - lol no chance
Wallbreaker - lol no chance

This is a more reasonable analysis than that of OP

Equal,housing 20 arch beat 1 drag
5 wizzies beat 1 drag
10 minis close battle with 1 drag
10 witches beat 6 drags (housing didn't work for me with this one)

All positive points for dragons are offset by how stupid their A.I. is.

what level are your dragons?

unless the dragon could shoot fire in multiple directions simultaneously, its not a very talented troop. powerful? yes. resourceful, effective? no.

Archers attack once per second. So 50 archers attacking once's damage : 22*1 ( dmg per archer during one second ) * 50 (number of archers) = 1100, dragon survives with 1400 hp


Archers attack again, so another 1100 gone from dragons hp, dragon survives with 300 hp

They'll need to attack him AGAIN to kill him.

BUT.

Dragon would've attacked them in 1.5 seconds, killing them all, or, killing half of em, which would make the archers take a longer time to kill the drag, and drag will BBQ the archers completely after that

Archers in cc come out in one spot 😉

Will be debatable whether Dragon is the strongest or not ,

But for me as a noob ( TH7 ) , Dragon surely it is .

I enjoy using it , special only for revenge.

As a TH7 , often that stronger than me TH 8 / 9 bullying me ...

I just bullying them back , using full dragon , For a sweet 2 / 3 star , and of course , sweet revenge :)

Its not 1vs 1 since a drag has 20 spaces and archers have 1space

therefore it it should be 1arch vs 1 drag

so if we use all dragon vs all archers ie 240 arch vs 12 drag..dragon will turn down ion flying chickens :)

Dragon- 20 units

5 wiz- 20 units

20 archers- 20 units

10 minions- 20 units

There you go, each of them defeats dragon.

You can't put the dragon up against other troops and disregard cost, time built etc it has to have some variables which make the competition fair

So 1 drag is 30 mins training can make nearly 4 wizzies in that time 1 drag vs 4 wiz - wiz win

I prefer wizards on CC... Dragon is the best defense... but take so many spaces and not many friends donate it except you have second id who donate yourself all the time.
Dragon vs archers.... dragon burn 1 archer... 19 around it shoot.
Dragon vs minion.... dragon burn 1 minion 9 around it shoot.

The dragon is easily the best troop, but not for those reasons.

On defense-
Splash damage, can take out giants and even hogs. Clumps of tier 1 troops will be wasted.
High DPS, allowing for quicker destruction of troops with high hp.
High hp, so it's not gonna get killed off by one kamikaze wizard.
Targets both air and ground troops.
Does wonders against lower lvl dragons.
Lightning and freeze spells have no effect.

"I it can easily get lured out and killed." Yeah? Same with every other troop, except the healer.

On offense-
Destroys everything, allowing not only for 50% raids, but due to its high hp and DPS, two star raids as well.
Fairly predictable AI(like every other unit).
Complements any raiding strategy very well.
Costly, but not beyond any other trophy-pushing strategy.
Relatively low housing space, allowing even more dragons or other troops in your raid.

"Susceptible to air defense and seeking air mines." Air defense is really it's only weakness, but every troop has one. It's up to the raider to find his way around them.

If you disagree with me, take all things into consideration, not just your troop's strength. All things considered, the dragon is the best and most reliable troop in the game.

If 1 vs 1 were fair, drags would only occupy one housing space. This is a little silly.

15 of pretty much anything that can attack in the air will wipe out a drag, if used correctly.

They certainly have the highest cost per troop space, barring dark elixir because i dont know how to equate that with elixir.

Still, as someone who has been primarily barching lately, i tend to make people regret having a dragon in the cc. Its one of the easiest kite and kills if youve got a pile of archers on you.

Not trying to argue one way or another about the best troop in the game because i think the discussion is pointless. Its way too situational to make any sort of judgment calls. Ive had 8 drags 20 minions and rage spells at times i wish i just had a quick barcher army and vice versa... There are times i wish i had a dragon in the cc, other times i wish i had wizards, other times all archers...

Sure, 1v1 a drag might kill every other troop in the game (though apparently not a witch), but thats a pretty impractical factoid... So what?

When I see drag pop out of a CC, it makes me laugh. I just send in a swarm of minions, and they dispatch it very easily.

Dragons are overrated. Most barch or Giant Healer armies cost a fraction and do the same damage, definitely get more effective elixir loot as well. I only have dragons for donating to clan mates

I think you have to consider the defensive structures that exist. There are 4 AD's that will ONLY target the Dragon (unless Minions are present) and two Air Mines that will ONLY target the Dragon (regardless of minion presence). This really weakens the Dragons. Where as with ground troops, there are multiple targets for the defensive structures to target and none of them pump out 200+ damage per second (except the Inferno when it charges).

Wizards are the best troops in the game. Dragon in cc, even if i out 10 archers in the same place it never takes more than 1 each time. So i can hardly think of it as a splash damage troop. In defense, Wizards would wipe out giants in 5 seconds. A dragon would vanish in few hits and even a pekka is useless against them.

You cant compare dragons with all troops because all troops have specific purposes.
Troops i think you can compare though:
Wiz Arch
Valk barb
Golem giant
Hog balloon
And some others. There are also good things and bad things about EVERY troop.

Um.. Sir. You can't compare a troop that takes 20 spaces, with a trops such as archers that only take one. Of course it's "Better," however 20 level 6 archers could easily down a level 4 dragon...

Bloons & healers can also take out the air mines... If you're using bloonions it's very popular to have a drag or 2 in your comp to help clean up sooo the bloons will most likely have triggered the mines...
